Just before they reached the main exit, she looked back one last time in desperation. The figures inside were already indistinct through the tinted glass. The two police officers’ attitudes suddenly changed. A menacing glint appeared in their eyes as they forcibly dragged her towards a van parked up ahead.

She struggled violently, instinctively sensing danger. This clearly isn’t a normal arrest. If I get in that van, who knows if I’ll make it out alive?

The two men were not being polite at all. Their actions were now less like an arrest and more like a kidnapping.

The van door was already open. Just as the two men were about to push Yan Xixi in, something blurred before their eyes, and a tall figure suddenly barred their way. His voice was astonishingly cold as he asked, "What are you arresting her for?"
