Chacha and Second quietly opened the door, peeking their little heads through the gap. As soon as they spotted Kiara inside, she was on the phone.

Kiara turned toward the door and smiled at them. She approached, still listening to the person on the line, and squatted down in front of the twins.

"Auntie," Chacha whispered, moving closer to Kiara’s other ear. "Second and Chacha are just going to take a nap. So don’t worry about us and just focus on your work."

Surprise quickly crossed Kiara’s face as she looked at the duo. Then her expression softened as she ruffled Chacha’s hair and gently caressed Second’s cheek.

Kiara covered the bottom of the phone and turned it slightly away, whispering, "Just come here if you need Auntie, okay?"

The twins hummed with smiles while Kiara watched them quietly leave. As the door closed, Kiara rose to her feet and let out a shallow breath.

They may be mischievous sometimes, but they truly are like their mother — emotionally aware. I’m glad they didn’t take after their father.

And somehow, the more the twins grew, the more they changed from how they were when they were younger. Chacha and Second, after all, had once been like little Atlas.

"Miss Kiara?"

Kiara snapped out of her thoughts when the voice on the other end of the line spoke.

"Ah, yes, I’m listening," she cleared her throat, setting aside thoughts about the twins and refocusing on her work. She had been putting things off, and now it had piled up.

"That erases Auntie Kiara from our list," Chacha said, crossing off Kiara’s name on her little note like she had just eliminated a target. "Now, we have to check a few more."

Second nodded. "I think I can talk to Second Uncle."

"Good! Second Uncle only listens to you because he thinks you look like Daddy, and everyone who looks like Daddy is never wrong to him!"

"Mhm!"

With that, the twins headed to their next target.

Minutes later, they stood in front of Hugo and Allen, who were walking together.

"Kids, are you okay?" Hugo asked, eyes on the little duo.

"Are you feeling unwell?" Allen added, a bit worried.

Chacha and Second shook their heads.

"Second Uncle, Uncle Allen, Chacha and Second want to grow taller fast so we can help Mommy and Daddy," Second said. "So we’re going to take an afternoon hibernation."

Hugo and Allen blinked. "Afternoon hibernation?"

"It means we’re going to nap for a long time!" Chacha clarified.

Both adults furrowed their brows.

Isn’t that just sleep?

"We’re just telling you so you won’t worry about us," Second said with a smile. "If Chacha and Second wake up, we’ll be just as tall as Second Uncle~!"

Hugo and Allen exchanged looks.

"Well, I used to sleep a lot in the afternoon when I was a kid," Hugo muttered. "Same with Slater. Maybe that’s why we’re taller than First Brother. He doesn’t like afternoon naps."

It took Hugo one second to realize what he had said, but it was too late.

Hugo slowly looked at the twins and squatted in front of them. "Kids, please don’t tell First Brother about what I said."

"Of course!" they chirped. "We didn’t hear Second Uncle say that our daddy is a shorty!"

Hugo paled and held their shoulders. "Kids, sleeping for an hour or an entire afternoon won’t make you grow fast. You need to sleep longer — hibernate. Don’t worry. I won’t let anyone disturb your hibernation."

"Okay~! Thanks, Second Uncle Best!"

The twins quickly skipped away toward the family wing. Watching them go, Hugo sighed in relief.

"That was close," he patted his chest. "I just have to make sure the kids don’t tell First Brother until they forget."

Allen gave Hugo a pitying look, shaking his head.

One thing the twins inherited from their father was that they never forget. They will weaponise this.

Meanwhile, the twins hurried back to their room for one reason: to set up their beds and place dummies under the blankets to make it look like they were sleeping. They used life-size dolls with hair to make it realistic.

"Chacha, I never thought this customized life-size doll of me would come in handy," Second remarked as he adjusted the doll Slater had gifted him.

Chacha grinned, satisfied. Anyone checking from the doorway would believe they were asleep.

"On to our next step!" she declared.

The twins quickly changed into their disguise: a ninja costume Lola had bought for them — and for herself and Atlas. A black jumpsuit, tunic pants, face mask, hood, and belt.

Though the outfit was a little tight around Chacha’s cute belly.

"Chacha, we look so cool!" Second said, striking a pose with his toy sword on his back.

"Shhh!" Chacha hushed him. "Second, we’re ninjas. Ninjas don’t make a sound!"

"Oh." He zipped his mouth. "But Chacha, we need to plan our escape route."

They opened a children’s book. Inside was a hand-drawn escape and floor plan of their home. To others, it looked like random boxes and lines.

"This is where we are. Here are the bodyguards. We’ll use this window..." they whispered like mini criminals. "Then we get Renny and Chunchun and ride the boat."

They nodded in determination and set their plan in motion.

Silly as it sounded, Chacha’s plan worked! They avoided security by crawling under bushes and sticking to walls. Soon, they reached Renny and Chunchun at their secret spot from past adventures.

Using their little boat, they moved toward the crime scene.

"Chacha," Second whispered from behind a bush. "There’s no body anymore."

Chacha peeked and saw Order members securing the scene on a nearby smaller island.

"How can we go there?" Second wondered. "We should’ve checked the office. They’d keep a photo."

She turned to him. "But isn’t there a missing body?"

"Huh?" Second blinked, then saw her squint.

"Second," she giggled. "Let’s find the second body. I want to see a decomposing body."

Their feline guards stared at them and sighed.

Chunchun: She needs to get checked. Immediately.

Renny: She spent too much time with Yuri.
