Chapter 542: Pimp Them Out?!

Lola’s team—now under Izu’s lead—finally reached a smaller town.

Compared to the one they came from, this place was quieter. As their truck rolled along the silent street, Izu, Pika, and the other members riding in the back looked around warily.

This was more of a residential area, with many houses already having their lights turned off. The last member, seated in the front passenger seat, kept his guard up.

"This doesn’t look like a gigantic town," Pika murmured, a chill creeping up his spine. "It’s so quiet."

The contrast between this town and the one they had left behind was eerie.

"Are there even people here?" one of the men in the back wondered. "I don’t like the air around this place."

Izu glanced at the two men with him, catching Pika quietly shrinking into the corner of the truck, then shifted his attention to checking their signals. All their guards were up, ready for whatever ambush might happen—if there was one.

As they quietly made their way toward their destination, Izu noticed curtains in nearby houses shifting slightly, as if people were peeking out for reasons unknown.

"Boss." Izu leaned closer to the driver’s seat, the window fully rolled down. "Is this the place?"

The driver glanced at him through the side mirror and spoke loudly enough for Izu to hear.

"Yeah," he said casually. "That woman you left behind told me to take you to Gigante. This is Gigante. A lot more peaceful than Sector Six, huh?"

Everyone—including those in the back—shifted their attention to the driver.

"Don’t worry," the man continued. "Gigante’s a smaller town, mostly residents of the territory. You’ll find places like this all over Ravah. They’re mostly safe—aside from the occasional brawl here and there, but nothing deadly."

Still, no one responded. They listened in silence, weighing his words.

"In this place, if you want to live in peace, you gotta learn Ravah’s rules of survival," the old man went on. "That woman with you earlier seemed used to this territory. Still, I gotta warn you boys—be careful. The residents avoid conflict at all costs. Don’t cause trouble, especially if you’re just visiting. Treat them with respect and kindness, and they’ll return it. But treat them otherwise, and you’ll be answering to the big boys of the territory."

The men stared at him in silence, fully understanding the weight of his warning.

Soon, the truck slowed to a stop along a quiet street where two roads branched ahead—one straight and one to the left.

"This is as far as I can take you," the driver said, giving the man in the passenger seat a casual glance. Then his eyes shifted to the side-view mirror, meeting Izu’s gaze. "The bar’s to the left. End of the road."

Izu, Pika, and the other two men followed his gaze toward the left side of the street. With that, they climbed out of the truck and ended their contract with the driver.

As they stood on the roadside, they watched the man study them carefully.

"You fellas..." the driver shook his head. "You should change into something more... casual. You stand out too much, especially in this town. If you don’t want attention, start with how you look."

He let out a shallow chuckle and drove off slowly. Even as he did, he glanced at them through the side-view mirror.

"Man..." he clicked his tongue. "This territory’s never short on people looking for trouble."

Still, he didn’t dwell on it and continued on his way. After all, Lola had paid him far more than he would earn in several months of work. Even if he suspected the men he’d just dropped off might die one way or another, that was no longer his concern.

Meanwhile, Izu’s team watched as the truck gradually disappeared from view.

"Can we trust him?" one of the men asked quietly. "What if he reports us after this?"

"I don’t think so," the man who had ridden shotgun replied, glancing at the group. "From what I’ve seen, people here are too used to violence—and money’s everything. The madam paid him enough that he didn’t hesitate to give us a ride." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"He’s right," Izu said, nodding. "But still, let’s move—just in case."

The men exchanged looks, nodding to one another before heading out on foot toward their destination. As they walked, they removed some of their gear and changed into spare clothes Lola had given them earlier.

They had already changed once, but following the driver’s advice, they needed to look even more casual. With the new clothes, they now resembled a small group of rogues heading toward a brothel in a quiet town for some entertainment.

Soon, the four of them stood before a dilapidated establishment, a frog statue sitting off to the side.

"I think this is it?" Pika muttered uncertainly. "There’s... a frog."

Yet the place was eerily quiet. There wasn’t a single person outside—something they hadn’t expected from a brothel. They’d imagined noise, laughter, at least some movement. But apparently, no one was seeking its services at the moment.

Izu let out a deep breath and, without a word, stepped forward. He knocked lightly on the door.

"Anyone inside?" he asked, his voice so low it barely sounded like an attempt.

The men behind him stared in judgment. Even Pika couldn’t hide his reaction. That wasn’t how you knocked—if knocking was even the right move in the first place.

To their surprise, the door slid open from the inside. The old, worn hinges creaked loudly as it moved.

Standing before them was an old... lady.

The men blinked—once, twice—staring at the woman who was no taller than five feet.

The old lady, her white hair neatly kept, looked them over. Her wrinkled face brightened before she spoke.

"Are you young men here for my services?"

The team: NO.

"Yes," Izu blurted out.

The men behind him gasped in horror, mentally screaming at him to stop. But then the old woman let out a delighted chuckle.

"Oh, you~," she cooed, reaching for Izu’s arm and gently pulling him inside. "Come, come. Don’t worry. I’m very experienced in group activities, too. We can do it all at once — haha!"

She then beckoned the men behind him, urging them to enter.

This time, even Izu was mortified at the thought of the "group activity" she was implying.

But in the end, they dragged themselves inside, horror plastered across their faces.

Was this the real reason Lola left them behind?!

To pimp them out?!
