The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 653: Aggrieved
For some reason, Summer Monroe always felt there’s a kind of... grievance in Damian Knight’s tone?
Why is he feeling aggrieved?
Summer’s mind whirled, and she spoke up: "Sorry, I didn’t mean to be late. I had to get the signatures from the homeroom teacher and the principal to move out. I’m really sorry for making you wait so long, don’t be mad."
Damian’s eyebrow arched.
"You think that’s what I’m upset about?"
Summer blinked in confusion and asked, "What else then?"
"Nothing," Damian said, straight-faced. "That’s the reason. Give me the luggage, and get in the car."
Summer sat in the passenger seat with an unclear mind; she felt Damian’s anger might not be for the reason she thought.
The car headed toward the residential area, and while waiting at the red light, Damian, seemingly holding it in for a long time, sternly spoke up: "Don’t forget we’re already married, don’t go around touching other’s hair. We did sign an agreement."
Summer turned her head in shock, looking at Damian with wide eyes: "You can’t be talking about Holly Holloway, right? She is a girl after all."
Damian let out a light snort from his nose and said blandly, "She’s lucky she’s a girl."
"Huh?" Summer internally drew a question mark.
But Damian said no more. As the light turned green, the car sped along until it stopped in front of an old community roughly ten minutes’ drive from Crestfall University.
The appearance of the blue Maserati attracted the morning exercisers at the community gate, who exchanged curious glances.
After getting out of the car, Damian glanced at the community, shaking his head in dissatisfaction: "This place is too old. How about coming with me to Redleaf Manor? It’s only a half-hour drive from the school, not too far."
Summer suddenly thought about Mio Osborne calling her a "mistress" and shook her head without much emotion: "No, I’d better live on my own."
Damian saw her insistence and said nothing more, searching for the house according to the address.
The house is on the sixth floor of Unit 2.
The building is too old, without an elevator. Damian carried two big luggage bags up the stairs.
Summer wanted to help, but Damian managed to reach the fourth floor without even breaking a sweat, considering his stamina so good, Summer refrained from interfering, letting him carry the luggage upstairs.
All the way to the sixth floor, Summer was a bit out of breath, but Damian remained composed. As they reached the door, she couldn’t help but speak up: "I didn’t expect you to have such good stamina?"
Damian raised an eyebrow slightly, saying: "My stamina is better than you think, you can try."
"Try?" Summer was puzzled: "How do I try?"
Just as she spoke, Summer suddenly realized Damian was teasing her, blushing immediately, and said angrily: "Damian Knight, can you be a bit serious? You dress casually today and act casual too?"
Damian raised his eyebrow again: "You misunderstood, I’ve always been a bit unserious."
Especially towards her.
Summer pouted, no longer responding to him, and focused on unlocking the door.
The lock looked delicate, and Summer fiddled for several seconds until a "click" sounded, finally opening the door.
As they opened the door, a musty smell mixed with airborne dust hit their faces.
"Cough cough..." Summer was choked, coughing softly.
Damian stepped in first, advising: "Wait at the door for a while; I’ll open the windows to air it out before you come in."
He spoke, showing none of the pampered demeanor one would expect from President Knight, as he stepped right into the moldy air.
