The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 537: This Is Retribution
This is Ross Psychiatric Hospital!
Summer Monroe’s eyes shifted slightly; since it’s Isaac Ross’s hospital, it would be easier to handle.
Without hesitation, Summer found an excuse to go to the bathroom while Henry Stanton wasn’t paying attention, and sneaked to a corner outside the hospital to call Isaac Ross.
Isaac picked up almost instantly and eagerly said, "What brings the big shot here? Is there anything I can do for you?"
Summer, while observing her surroundings, said, "The Second Ross Hospital is yours, right?"
"That’s right. Are you there?"
"Yes. My aunt, also my stepmother, her name is Stella Monroe, is here for an inspection. Can you help assign someone to check if there’s anything wrong with her?"
"No problem at all, I’ll call them right away to arrange it."
"Thanks a lot, and also for the psychiatric hospital matter. I’ll treat you to a meal sometime."
"You’re welcome, you’re welcome."
Without further delay, Summer ended the call, then put her phone away and returned to the entrance of the emergency room.
Henry Stanton hadn’t noticed her return at all; he was leaning against the wall, looking a bit dazed, as if he had suddenly aged ten years.
It was the first time Summer had seen Henry Stanton with such an expression. She felt no sympathy, only satisfaction.
Henry clearly couldn’t accept the news of Stella’s affair, but had he considered how nauseating it was for her mom when he cheated on Stella?
This was retribution, the way of heaven.
Summer hid the cold sarcasm in her eyes well, and walked over to ask, "Dad, I’m back. Don’t worry too much about Aunt. It’s probably just the grief from losing a younger sister, along with the time in the psychiatric hospital, that’s weakened her immunity."
Henry reacted a beat too late, forcing a smile, and said, "Hmm, I’m not worried."
After saying that, he unexpectedly continued, "Summer, what do you think of your aunt as a person?"
Summer hesitated for a moment before smiling and saying, "Aunt’s pretty good."
If she spoke ill of Stella now, Henry might become defiant, further doubting the rumors about the psychiatric hospital.
Sure enough, as soon as she said this, Henry immediately followed up, "Haven’t you had many misunderstandings with her? Why do you say she’s good? Where do you think she’s good?"
Summer smiled and said, "I can’t really say... but I see Aunt treating you well. If she’s good to you, that means she’s a good person to me."
She spoke innocently and merrily, yet the dark heaviness in Henry’s brow deepened further.
It’s true that Stella was good to him, but was this goodness out of guilt?
Reflecting for a moment, Stanton realized that in all their years of marriage, Stella never once showed a hint of anger towards him, which seemed abnormal.
Summer watched Henry’s changing expressions, knowing her strategy of retreating to advance was working.
She gave a gentle, warm smile and asked, "Dad, what are you thinking?"
"Nothing, nothing," Henry vaguely shook his head.
Just then, a doctor came over and asked, "Are Mrs. Stella Monroe’s family members here?"
Henry didn’t respond much, so Summer raised her hand and said, "Here. That’s us."
The doctor gave her a deep look and said, "There are some anomalies in Mrs. Monroe’s health. We took her for a comprehensive check-up, so please wait in the waiting room. It’ll be about an hour until the results are ready."
Henry was stunned for a moment and asked, "What abnormalities in her health require so long? Wasn’t it just motion sickness?"
The doctor pushed up his black-framed glasses and said, "It’s unclear for now, just please wait patiently for the results."
After saying that, the doctor turned and left.
