Chapter 418: Chapter 418: Boss, Run!

That was the pinnacle of fear.

Just when the man thought he was doomed, a delicate hand suddenly grabbed the knife handle, stopping the blade just a millimeter away from him.

Summer Monroe bent her elbow, pressing the long knife against the man’s neck, and spoke in a voice devoid of warmth, "Whose death day did you say it was today?"

The man trembled all over, his lips pale as he stammered, "It’s my death day... oh no... b-boss, I was wrong, please spare me."

A newly awakened Ronan Kingston had countless question marks pop up in his mind, "???"

Could someone tell him what just happened???

"Good boy." Summer patted the man’s shoulder with the back of the knife, which was trembling like a sieve, and asked, "Who sent you to deal with us?"

The man regained a bit of composure, swallowed, and said, "I-I don’t know... I’m just doing it for the money."

"Hmm?" Summer furrowed her brow, "I’ll give you just one last chance, who sent you to deal with us?"

The man was once again scared stiff by Summer’s gaze.

That scene just now might not have seemed impressive, but he was someone who made his living off his skills, and he knew right away from her control of speed and force that she was a top-notch expert, someone he definitely couldn’t beat.

Moreover, the opponent seemed to be proficient in medicine too; when hitting his subordinate, she struck the same spot each time, which must have been some kind of acupuncture point.

The man closed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and said, "I’ll talk! I’ll talk!" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The man spoke as he fished a piece of paper from his pocket and shakily handed it to Summer, "I don’t know the client’s name; she contacted us using this number and account."

Summer took the piece of paper, which resembled something like a mission card.

The man continued, "We’re an underground organization specializing in taking on bounties for beatings, and occasionally, someone gets killed."

Summer’s gaze fell on the heading of the paper, which read "Black Manor."

The man explained, "This is our forum; you can search this forum to find out. You can accept missions on there or place orders... but it’s all anonymous. We only know the contact details, not who the person is."

"Got it." Summer nodded, glancing at the scattered people on the ground, and coldly said, "Take your people away. Also, leave all the cash you have on you as compensation for the night market stall."

The man let out a long breath of relief, bent down past the long knife in Summer’s hand, pulled up the nearest subordinate, and the group wobbled to their feet. In two minutes, they left behind a pile of cash and fled as if their lives depended on it.

Ronan Kingston hobbled over to Summer, his gaze filled with more than just amazement.

"Boss..." Ronan shivered as he spoke, "Y-you’re okay?"

Summer shrugged and asked, "Do I look like there’s something wrong with me?"

Ronan shook his head.

Not at all!

He paused and asked, "That group... you just let them go?"

Summer raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "It’s too late now; calling the police would delay my sleep. I’ll deal with it after I find out who’s behind this."

Ronan was stunned once more.

Delay sleep time???

Is that even a thing?

Just then, Finn Ford woke up.

Summer and Ronan walked over simultaneously.

Finn Ford opened his eyes and saw Summer, and in shock, he quickly cried out, "Boss, run!"
