The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 288: Son-in-Law
Summer pretended not to know anything and asked in confusion, "Dad, what’s happened to Aunt?"
Henry Stanton sighed and said, "It’s all because of that short-lived one... Your aunt can’t accept her death and has been mad ever since. I’ve had her confined to a room to prevent alarming the mourning guests."
Summer nodded and said, "Aunt cared deeply for my sister. Although she was an adopted daughter, she was treated like her own child. If she truly saw Clarissa as her own daughter, it’s natural she’d react this way to Clarissa’s sudden death."
Henry Stanton heard this, coughed dryly, and said, "Don’t concern yourself with this matter. With time, she’ll naturally come to terms."
"But..." Summer’s eyes shifted as she said, "It’s not a solution to let this continue. Aunt being brokenhearted might harm her health. Why not have Dr. Jameson come and take a look?"
Henry Stanton raised an eyebrow and said, "That’s an idea. I’m not sure if Dr. Jameson is easy to get? Would he make a house call?"
Damian Knight spoke up from the side, "Dad, you don’t need to worry about that. I’ll call Jameson to come over right now."
"Good, good! Thank you, son-in-law."
"We’re all family, why thank?" Damian Knight said this while taking out his phone to call Jameson.
He had already coordinated with Jameson on his way over to avoid Summer’s affair from being exposed.
Jameson answered the call and said he happened to be off-duty and could come immediately.
Damian Knight hung up the phone and told Henry Stanton, "He’ll be here within half an hour."
Henry Stanton breathed a long sigh of relief and said, "It’s great that Dr. Jameson can come. His medical skills are so superb, he will surely help Stella recover quickly."
However, Henry Stanton didn’t notice the subtle glow in Summer’s eyes.
Summer had an idea.
An idea that could catch Stella Monroe and Felix Jennings all at once.
Yet, the change in Summer’s eyes did not escape Damian Knight’s notice.
Taking advantage of Henry Stanton’s time in the backyard, he asked in a voice only they could hear, "Eyes shifting so fast, got any bright ideas?"
Summer smirked, "Are your eyes... made with detectors?"
Damian Knight shrugged, waiting for her to continue.
Summer smiled slightly, and like Damian Knight earlier, she cryptically said with a smile, "Seems I’ll have to put on another performance, you’ll see soon enough."
Damian Knight was not in a hurry, showing a look anticipating a good show.
Not long after, Dr. Jameson arrived.
Upon seeing Summer, Jameson’s face showed barely concealed excitement; he genuinely admired Summer, but recalling Damian Knight’s prior instructions, he suppressed his excitement and adopted the demeanor of a skilled doctor, asking Damian Knight, "Young Master Knight, where’s the patient?"
"Upstairs." Damian Knight paused, then said to Summer, "I’ll go bring Henry Stanton over; meanwhile, you chat with Dr. Jameson for a while."
"Okay." Summer nodded, leading Jameson upstairs, taking advantage of no one around, she secretly handed him an item.
Jameson asked in shock, "What’s this?"
Summer whispered a few words to Jameson, and his eyes immediately sparkled, saying, "You actually have such a thing? Where did you get it? I heard it was immediately banned after being developed."
Summer smiled faintly and said, "Where it came from isn’t your concern. Just do as I instructed."
How would Jameson disagree?
He nodded his head akin to pounding garlic, pounding his chest and promising, "Rest assured, I will definitely use it well."
"Hm." Summer nodded upon hearing Henry Stanton’s voice coming from downstairs, then gestured for Jameson to be silent and subsequently feigned worry, loudly reminding Jameson, "Teacher Jameson, you absolutely must cure my aunt."
