The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife-Chapter 428: How much is the boyfriend’s wealth? How many lovers does he have?
The words between the two, along with the sarcasm embedded within them, slowly seeped into Munni’s ears.
She calmly reached out to open the door of the stall, walked out with graceful steps, and headed for the washbasin.
One of the women was touching up her makeup at the washbasin, and upon hearing the sudden footsteps in the restroom, she instinctively glanced over. When she saw Munni entering her view, her face was filled with shock.
Munni stood at the washbasin beside her, calmly washed her hands, and through the mirror in front of her, smiled at the two women whose faces showed shock due to her sudden appearance.
"Why not continue?" She paused, then parted her red lips again and said, "I was lucky enough to hang onto Yisen. I certainly don’t care who he sleeps with, after all, I’m with him just for the money. What about you? How much does your boyfriend’s family own? How many lovers do you have?"
Though the words seemed to acknowledge the gossip the two had about her just now, the chilling tone inexplicably made the two women somewhat panicked.
The two exchanged glances, and one woman left a "Sorry," before both hurriedly exited the restroom together.
After all, gossiping is inherently wrong on their part, especially when the subject is not an ordinary person. If Munni and Xu Yisen were angered, they’d absolutely face consequences they couldn’t handle.
Munni turned around and watched their figures disappear from sight, the smile at her lips slowly transforming into a trace of bitterness.
As she exited the restroom, she unexpectedly saw Yisen waiting for her in the hallway outside.
Seeing her come out, Yisen curled his lips and said warmly, "Let’s go home."
In the dim hallway, the slight upward curve of his lips was as bright and dazzling as a ray of sunlight, warming Munni and making her feel a bit uneasy.
After a moment of daze, she nodded, "Okay."
Yisen naturally stepped forward to wrap his arm around her waist, causing Munni to slightly stiffen from his touch.
She turned her head to see Yisen beside her, slightly raising his eyebrows in confusion.
Munni managed to force a smile and gently said, "Let’s go."
"Okay."
Yisen brought Munni to her doorstep, intending to stay over at her place, but was refused by Munni.
"I’m tired; you should go home and rest early."
Seeing her face full of exhaustion, Yisen didn’t tease her anymore, habitually patting her head, "Okay, good, get some early rest. Remember to change the dressing on your hand wound after your bath."
"Okay, good night."
After saying goodnight to Yisen, Munni turned the knob, entered her house, and closed the door.
Due to the drinking, her head still felt a bit dazed. She went to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of warm water, then slowly walked back upstairs to her room. After taking a shower, she removed the bandage on her hand without applying any medication, and just fell onto the bed to sleep, without thinking further about Yisen.
This sleep lasted until three in the morning, then Munni woke up suddenly from her dream, her brain gradually shifting from blurry to clear.
In the darkness, her eyes empty and stare blankly at the ceiling, the feeling of insomnia struck her once again.
She clearly recognized this feeling: wanting to sleep but unable to do so, her mind occasionally clear, occasionally hazy, no matter how hard she tried to fall asleep, she could never succeed.
Munni gradually realized that it seemed each time she felt insomnia, it was due to receiving a message from that mysterious individual.
