Munni’s smile deepened at the corners of her lips. She gently nudged Xu Yisen’s waist with her hand, the gesture seemingly saying... Good for you recognizing the situation.
When it was their turn in line, Xu Yisen bought two cable car tickets for the descent from the ticket seller.
While he was buying the tickets, Munni stood by his side and took a selfie with his phone.
In the photo, she was wearing a baseball cap, her small face under the brim with a touch of makeup, a warm and sunny smile playing at the corners of her lips, while behind her stood Xu Yisen, queued up to buy tickets.
She opened Xu Yisen’s social media feed and posted an update, uploading the selfie she just took, with the caption... [I heard you all are fed up with Yisen’s displays of affection? I also find him childish, so I’m the one showing off this time.]

Just as Munni finished posting on social media, Xu Yisen happened to have finished buying the tickets, so she locked the screen and handed the phone back to him.
Xu Yisen took the phone she handed over, looking at her brightly smiling face, and jokingly asked, "Did you do something mischievous with my phone?"
"No." Munni shook her head, but the playful twinkle in her eyes seemed to admit his suspicion.
Although there were a lot of people hiking, the mountain path was wide enough that it didn’t feel too crowded.
Both of them usually exercised regularly, so they didn’t find hiking too strenuous.
There were quite a few vendors selling snacks along the mountain path, as well as some food stalls.
Munni had quite a craving for food, and almost had to stop every now and then to buy some snacks to eat.
"Yisen, try this handmade nougat, it has a really great texture."
Munni loved sweets, Xu Yisen wasn’t fond of them, but every time she would offer him some, he would unhesitatingly open his mouth and eat it.
They strolled leisurely, eating and drinking along the way, and what would usually be a two-hour hike took them over three hours before they reached the mountain top.
In the last half-hour, with the peak in sight, they kept climbing without stopping.
When they finally reached the top, they found a big rock to sit and rest on.
Xu Yisen glanced at Munni sitting beside him, gently panting. A few sparkling beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and her rosy cheeks were even redder due to the exercise.
He put down his backpack, took out a pack of tissues and a bottle of mineral water, and then handed them to Munni, chuckling softly, "Tired you out, didn’t it?"
Munni nodded, took the tissues and water, first unscrewed the bottle cap and drank the water in large gulps, then screwed the cap back on and handed the bottle back to Xu Yisen.
Xu Yisen looked around and, not finding a trash can, put the empty bottle back into his backpack.
"Do you want to make a wish?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
He pointed to a temple not far behind them, where many hikers gathered to make wishes.
Munni followed his gesture and turned to look behind her.
She remembered that with a half-believing attitude, every time she came hiking here with her roommates during her four years at college, she made the same wish under the Wishing Tree... hoping to be with Yisen, get married, have children, and grow old together.
Later, she did indeed get together with Xu Yisen and got married.
However, after entering society and facing the reality of life, she realized that making wishes was merely a way of comforting one’s soul and a form of wishful thinking.
The Wishing Tree in front of her, bearing countless wishes, had no magic power; it merely stood quietly, mocking the foolish and ignorant humans.
