The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife-Chapter 339: Even if the sky falls, the Xu Family will support you
"Coming here early in the morning to pick you up, can I get a hug?"
Bai Wan Yun gently opened her arms, proactively asking Munni for a hug.
Munni couldn’t help but laugh. She handed the flowers to Xu Yisen, asking him to hold them for her, then took a small step forward and embraced Bai Wan Yun.
Bai Wan Yun gently patted her back twice, her actions tender like a mother soothing an uneasy child.
She slightly bent her lips and whispered softly in Munni’s ear, "Silly child, even if the sky falls, the Xu Family will support you. You are not alone."
Her tender yet forceful words were like a beam of intense sunlight, shining upon Munni’s cold heart, suddenly melting the ice and snow into a warm stream, flowing gently within.
Tears welled up uncontrollably in Munni’s eyes; how fortunate she was to know this gentle, loving woman, who treated her as her own daughter, graciously accepting all her whims.
"Aunt Bai, thank you."
"Why so distant."
Bai Wan Yun released Munni, though her words were in reproach for the formal thanks, her brows showing no hint of displeasure, instead overflowing with affection.
Xu Yisen watched this warm scene from the side, his thin lips slowly curling into a gentle smile.
Only then did Bai Wan Yun notice her son Xu Yisen’s presence, "Yisen, how has your time abroad been these past few days?"
"Finally, you recognize I’m here. You give Munni flowers and hugs, while for me just a simple greeting — this disparity in treatment really makes your son feel heartbroken."
He wore a mischievous smile as he jokingly teased Bai Wan Yun.
Bai Wan Yun pretended to be annoyed and glared at him, explaining, "People say daughters are a mother’s close little cotton-padded jacket, while you’re a leather jacket son. I seriously doubt you’re a genuine leather jacket."
"Is there a mother who criticizes her own son like this? Besides, Munni isn’t your daughter; she’s your daughter-in-law! Daughter-in-law! Daughter-in-law!"
In the spirit of repeating important matters three times, Xu Yisen couldn’t help but smile as he repeated "daughter-in-law" three times, clearly hinting at something to Bai Wan Yun.
Smart as Bai Wan Yun is, she naturally understood the implication in his words, but deliberately pretended to be confused, retorting, "Go find somewhere cool to hang out; Munni wouldn’t miss you." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Who says that? Your son is so outstanding, and Munni has such great taste — how could she possibly not miss me?"
"You’re outstanding because of your parents’ good genes, which have nothing to do with you."
"Alright then, whatever you say, Empress Dowager."
The three of them playfully bantered as they walked out of the airport and got in the car, riding together back to the Xu family home.
The Xu family house was only a half-hour drive from the airport, much closer than driving from downtown to the airport.
As the car arrived at the Xu house, Uncle Zhang warmly came out to greet them, informing Munni that the mango tree she planted years ago with Grandma Xu had finally borne fruit.
Munni felt an illusion, as if she and Xu Yisen had never divorced or parted ways; they were still a couple married for many years, returning to the Xu home on the fifteenth of each month, with Uncle Zhang welcoming them at the door, chatting as they walked into the living room, then spending time with the elders of the Xu family, eating and chatting.
She secretly glanced at Xu Yisen walking beside her, only to find him gazing at her with smiling eyes. Noticing her glance, the smile in his eyes deepened.
