The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 167: Can even bring death
Leon returned to the palace, heading straight to his chamber for a moment of rest. But as he stepped inside, he found Nina already waiting for him.
"Is everything alright with Zenna?" she asked, rising to her feet with a worried gaze.
Leon exhaled slowly. "You heard about it too?"
"Yes," Nina confirmed with a frown on her forehead. "They say Zenna tried to kill the Alpha King. But that’s impossible. She’s not powerful enough to even attempt something like that. And she can never do that. And now, Radulf has challenged the Alpha King. What will happen? I heard that his parents were sentenced to death for treason against the Alpha King in the past."
Leon sighed. "I have no idea. I haven’t spoken to Father yet, so I don’t know what he’s in his mind."
Leon hesitated before asking, "Are you concerned for Radulf?"
"No," Nina answered without hesitation. "I’m worried about Zenna." Her shoulders sagged slightly. "She finally found happiness after so long. And now this..." She paused. "The Alpha King has punished her before. I still remember how brutal it was. All for defying him. She doesn’t deserve such inhumane treatment. Don’t you think?"
"I can’t speak against the Alpha King," Leon said truthfully, before turning on his heel.
"Where are you going?" Nina called after him.
"To talk to Mother," he replied, already striding away.
As he neared Loretta’s manor, he caught hushed whispers from the palace servants. Inside, his mother’s temper was on full display. She was snapping at the staff, her fury palpable after the day’s events.
When Leon entered the main chamber, he bowed respectfully.
"Leon!" Loretta’s demeanor changed instantly, her face lighting up with joy. She gestured for him to sit before dismissing everyone from the room. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Once they were alone, she began.
"Did you see how Radulf dared to challenge our authority?" she sneered. "This is the perfect time to strike. You should prepare to bring his head to your father’s feet." Her lips curled into a smirk. "The throne will be yours, Leon. All you have to do is take it."
Leon could only agree to his mother’s scheming. "I wonder why Father claimed that Zenna tried to kill him. She is a wolf-less, omega, isn’t she?"
As per his plan, he tried finding out from his mother the real truth about Zenna.
"But what confuses me is how she can be wolfless when our father is an alpha, Mother? I did read that some wolves are suppressed because of constant abuse. Did the same happen with Zenna?" Leon inquired.
Loretta furrowed her brows together. "Leon, you should focus on what I’m telling you."
"I am, Mother. However, we must know what Zenna’s true potential is! Father said her eyes made him feel burned. Is it something related to her wolf? The wolf that had been suppressed for a long time but not revealed itself. In the past, there were incidents when witches would cast a spell on werewolves to make them worthless by caging their wolves forever," Leon pronounced, trying to find out even the simplest clue possible from his mother.
"I am the one who has suppressed her wolf," Loretta finally admitted. "It’s for our betterment, Leon. Zenna should pay for what her mother did to me and to the future of my kids. She’s not wolfless," she finally revealed the truth that Leon was seeking for a long time.
"Does Father know?" asked Leon.
"No. Phillipe doesn’t know," Loretta replied. "It’s not time to discuss all of that."
"Mother, it’s important. If Zenna’s wolf was always there, once it is out, anything can happen. I have heard from the ancient textbooks here that a wolf suppressed for more than twenty years is filled with anguish. Upon its awakening, it can even bring death," Leon asserted. He hadn’t shared such details with Radulf. Nor did the wolves outside the royalty know such things because such texts were confined within the palace walls.
"That won’t happen. Her wolf can never come out because she is weak emotionally. She fears us, especially your father. If not for Radulf, she would have been begging and crying in the dungeon earlier," Loretta pronounced with a smirk.
Leon absorbed the information while knitting his brows together. ’Zenna cannot awaken it because of what she has undergone. But what if her emotions are triggered?’ he thought. ’I wonder if her true wolf form will come out and cause destruction.’
Before his mother could speak, Leon began, "Mother, I will go and talk to my father once. He didn’t look good earlier."
"Sure." Loretta didn’t refuse it. She believed if Leon could give emotional support to Phillipe at this time, it would be easy to convince him to kill both Radulf and Zenna. ’He wants their child to be the heir to the throne while I want it solely for myself. Leon is the key to bringing the throne to me. Once they are dead, the throne will come to Leon and I have to make it happen at any cost.’

Radulf gently tightened his arms around Zenna, holding her as if he could shield her from the world.
"They will stand with me, Zenna. Trust me," he reassured her, his voice filled with conviction.
She pulled back slightly, searching his eyes. "I don’t think the packs will go against the King," she whispered, her fears evident.
Radulf cupped her hands in his, his touch warm and steady. "They will," he said firmly. "And even if they don’t, I won’t let anyone harm you."
His gaze softened as he looked at her. "Forgive me. I wasn’t there when you needed me most. If I had arrived earlier, none of this would have happened."
Zenna shook her head, pressing her hands against his chest. "You did nothing wrong, so don’t apologize," she murmured.
Her voice trembled as she added, "This is the second time you’ve stood against the King for me. I don’t want anything to happen to you, Radulf."
Radulf brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Nothing will happen to me," he promised. "And I won’t let anything happen to you either. It’s the time for us to fight against Phillipe. Trust me, the packs will stand with you."
"I’ll leave now. You must stay here," Radulf stated.
"Sure." Zenna watched him leave and felt she created a big problem for Radulf.

The first pack Radulf chose to visit was the White Moon Pack. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Jasper, the pack’s alpha, whose expression shifted from curiosity to shock as Radulf recounted the events.
Jasper’s brows furrowed, and he let out a heavy sigh. "It doesn’t surprise me that Zenna has suffered mistreatment once again," he said, concern evident in his voice. His jaw clenched as he added, "She’s endured too much already," Jasper murmured. "I couldn’t save your father in the past. You could say I was too weak to even stand against the Alpha King." He clenched his fists as he continued, "But for the honor of a woman, I must stand today. I will summon the entire werewolf council tomorrow at the palace."
Radulf felt a surge of gratitude at Jasper’s words. He lowered his gaze respectfully. "That means a lot to me, Alpha Jasper. Thank you."
"My son, Gregor, will accompany you," Jasper declared, his gaze steady. "I know you need the support of the other packs, and some still don’t view the Shadow Hunter Pack’s Alpha in a favorable light. Having Gregor by your side will strengthen your position."
He then turned to his beta, giving a silent nod. "Inform Gregor about Radulf’s visit and have him prepare to leave immediately."
"Thank you," Radulf said once more, his voice carrying both gratitude and determination.
Jasper studied him, seeing the raging emotions swirling beneath his composed exterior. "I’ll reach out to the other packs as well," Jasper offered. "Recently, the Alpha King ordered punishments for several Alphas who supported the spy network in the last council meeting."
"It’s fine. I can speak with them myself," Radulf replied.
Jasper shook his head. "Let me handle it. Your father did nothing wrong back then. Most of us know he was framed. But the evidence against him was overwhelming, leaving us powerless to stop his downfall. This time, things will be different, Radulf," he assured.
Radulf hummed, hoping for the same. He had enough of Phillipe’s torment and what feared him how Zenna could get affected because of this.
Gregor arrived there in a short time and was surprised to see Radulf.
Jasper narrated the entire incident happened to his son, telling him to help Radulf in inviting the pack members to the council meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
"Yes, Father," Gregor replied and looked at Radulf. "Is Zenna fine now?" Gregor asked with concern.
"Yes. She is in the mansion. I was so raged that I challenged the Alpha King," Radulf pronounced, not feeling guilty about it. "I don’t want her to suffer any more."

A small author note:
In this Chapter you must have noticed that the FL name has changed. Last Monday someone complained about the FL, falsely accusing that Fl name slandering her, making Wn to temporarily ban the story. I hope the new name "Zenna" won’t affect the reading experience. Thank you for supporting the story so far. I hope you continue it because my story has suffered a lot in this one week ban.
