Chapter 37: The Dream That Came True (Ch.37)

~In the depths of a dark forest somewhere in the Ethereal domain.

"Do you know what I detest more than useless subordinates? Useless subordinates that dare return to me alive after failing in their mission!"

"How dare you even show your face here?! How dare you show your face to me?!"

"I ordered you to find a way to prevent that unknown party from reaching the Ethereal Palace, did I not?" A dark, hollow voice asked in a slow predatory manner.

"We deserve death, Alpha!" Two voices cried in unison.

"I do not need your useless excuses! Report! And heavens help you your report is unsatisfactory..." The dark voice trailed off in a deadly tone.

"Alpha, we did all we could. The party wad much stronger than we anticipated."

"The Alpha of Silver Moon whom we tricked into capturing them, could not withstand them at all." A second voice reported, trembling and terrified.

This voice clearly belonged to one of the two subordinates that were present and answering to the dark voice.

"We watched from afar as you ordered, their leader was unbelievably powerful! She moved like a blur, bringing down dozens of warrior wolves with a single strike of her whip!"

"I have never seen such skill or such strange fighting style before!" The second voice reported in horror stemming from the memories of what he had witnessed.

"Her movement was so fast we could barely catch anything on her other than the fact that she is female,"

"Without a close up look of her face, we have no methods of finding the true identity of the party." A third voice reported in an objective tone,

This voice was much calmer than the second voice regardless of the frightening situation they were both in for having failed their mission.

"So we still have no idea who they are?! A party of six unbelievably powerful people with a leader as fierce as you have described and we have nothing on them?!"

"And yet you let them arrive the Ethereal Palace just like that? I have worked so hard to put everything together!"

"It has taken me so much time! Do you not realize that the smallest variable may change the outcome?!" The dark voice roared furiously as a movement was made from the shadows.

"I understand this Alpha, but... but it is not too late, whoever they are, we can still kill them off before they do anything to ruin our plans." The trembling voice swore vehemently.

"You really think too highly of yourself, don’t you now? In the territory of that monster?! Inside the boundaries of his palace?!"

"Even if the entire Ethereal domain is deceived, do you not know clearly the true face of the monster who has claimed the Ethereal throne?! Do you not know?!" The dark voice raged.

"Alpha, please calm your anger. There is still an opportunity, with the presence of so many guests from all across the supernatural realm, what is to say an assassin cannot be mixed amongst them?" The third voice came again.

The dark voice did not respond back for a short moment seeming to be considering the words of the third voice, but finally, it was heard again.

"What do you have in mind?" The dark voice asked.

"Alpha, there is a perfect opportunity already. We have already made all the preparations ahead of the moon banquet..." The second voice said, the tone of the voice much more confident.

"The moon banquet is tonight?"The dark voice asked for affirmation.

"Yes Alpha, we have prepared ahead. The charmer demon spirit is on the loose and it’s course is set for the Ethereal palace." The second voice assured.

"The charmer demon spirit was summoned? Such a malevolent demon spirit and after having been locked away for so long, it must truly be desperately craving it’s fair share of blood." The dark voice began, a hint of excitement in it’s tone.

"I had forgotten the moon banquet would hold tonight and I failed to arrange a suitable gift, however it seems that has already been taken care off." The dark voice continued in mock remorse.

"With such a pleasant gift to celebrate his enthronement, wouldn’t the new Alpha King be so thankful to us that he would be unable to express it?" The dark voice asked smugly.

"Tonight, the unknown party will be gotten rid off and with the ferocity of the charmer demon spirit and the element of surprise on it’s part, perharps even the new Alpha King will find himself in a difficult and life-threatening situation..." The third voice said with a dark chuckle.

"Ah, it is truly sad I cannot appear in person to witness it, tsk tsk... what a shame... what a terrible shame." The dark voice clicked his tongue disappointedly.

The Ethereal Domain, Courtyard of the Ethereal Palace- The Moon Banquet.

That scent...

That scent that stirred every cell in Askel’s body to a point of trembling in need and delight, it was that scent.

That scent that drove Askel and his wolf both mad with possessiveness, it was that scent.

Morning dew, wild roses and a smoky undertone...a combination more perfect than Askel could put to words.

That scent that belonged to the one person who had already claimed Askel’s heart even before he knew of her existence.

The one person capable of making his ever cold heart beat so wildly,

’My mate, My beloved, The other half of my own soul, my queen, my everything...She is here...’ Askel thought in elation.

Askel jumped to his feet, his hear pounding vivaciously as his eyes searched the crowd wildly.

Everything around him blurred to his vision and the sounds of the banquet from music to the quiet chattering of guests faded to the background and all Askel could hear was the sound of his own wildly beating heart.

Askel could feel the scent grow stronger and stronger and the unique mixture of those amazing scents had him nearly lightheaded.

The effect left on Askel by that heady scent was even more strong than the most potent brew of nectar and as Askel searched wildly, he breathed in the scent deeply, his wolf howling his delight with each breath.

Askel trembled in anticipation, his mind was completely blank of every other thought, all he could think of, all that overwhelmed his mind and clouded his senses was that heady scent.

Askel’s eyes scanned over the crowd in desperation and then in a moment that had felt to Askel like a lifetime, his eyes found hers.

Askel felt his breath catch in his throat as his golden orbs fixed on a pair of widened crimson orbs.

Askel knew just as he had been searching for her, she had searched for him too... their eyes met in a moment of awe and adoration as the world faded away and everything blurred but her.

To Askel, there was just two of them left in the room, in the world even, nothing and no one else mattered.

Not the throne, not the banquet, not the esteemed guests nor the Ethereal diadem rested on his head...all of that flew away from his mind.

All considerations and reasonable thoughts escaped him as his heart race accelerated to a gyrating beat and his wolf howled his delight in Askel’s head.

’Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!’

Like a mantra, the words were chanted in Askel’s mind over and over again, that word was all he could think of, all he could care for at this moment.

Askel felt his hands tremble in excitement as he finally let his gaze stray from those pair of enchanting eyes to take in the full view.

Askel once again felt his heart stop as his eyes took in what Askel could only describe as otherwordly.

For a moment Askel blinked in shock, believing he must have been in a dream as Askel simply could not understand just what kind of peerless beauty stood before his eyes.

There she was, lush crimson red tresses cascading down her back in perfect waves as she stood at the other end of the banquet, seeming to have just stepped into the courtyard.

Her skin was as flawless as porcelain, her features impeccable and her glowing red eyes bright and mystifying, leaving Askel enchanted.

’I’ve found her! I’ve found My Queen! And heavens, she is beautiful!’ Askel thought in awe as his heart pounded faster than he would have thought possible for even a supernatural.

Askel swore with how wildly his heart was beating, his heart could jump out of his chest any second and he still would not care,

He would only pick it up, cold and broken as it was and offer it up to her, for it was hers and hers alone to have, it always had been... right from the day she first walked his dreams.

They said dreams did come true, Askel had never believed it but at this very moment, Askel saw his most cherished dream crash into his reality.

’It is truly you, it was always you...my fiery red haired angel.’ Askel whispered, his throat choked with emotions as the cold feeling settled in his heart vanished to be replaced with the warmth of love and adoration.
