Inside an office with minimal furniture and dark metallic walls covering every side, a rigid-looking man in military uniform alone behind the expensive-looking table was reading multiple reports.

From his cold face and stoic expressions, one can tell nothing about him, but from the way that he read the reports multiple times as his hand betrayed his calm and collected demeanor, knocking on the table and producing a rhythm that reflected an inner conflict that was taking place inside the man's mind.

"Sigh!!"

Exhaling as if he was resigning himself to something, the worry in the man's eyes was evident and clear to anyone who paid attention to details.

"The Lordships need to know."

The man stood up from his chair as he operated the terminal in front of him, closing the previous report he had been reading and making his way out of the room.

Lieutenant Rock, with a heavy mind, went towards the same communication room as last time after clearing all the security measures. He took a deep breath as he entered the room, which was completely empty with no sign of life inside at all.

Not long after, a holographic image appeared out of thin air in the middle of the room, displaying the image of another man.

Lieutenant Rock: "Lieutenant Rock is here to report, sir."

"You haven't called the others this time; only me, is it about what we talked last time?"

Lieutenant Rock: "Yes, your lordship, I have compiled all my results of observation on seed number 33, and I would like to report to you first before sending the final report to the other lordships."

"Go ahead, I'm listening."

Lieutenant Rock: "Your lordship, the observation target has displayed almost no abnormalities during his stay in the program, completely opposite to my expectation. The seed already left a few achievements here and there during only one month with us."

"It looks like he has been doing well."

Lieutenant Rock: "More than well, my lord. From the moment he joined their training sessions and classes, he managed to keep up with the rest of them and even surpass the best in his group, which frankly shocked me, as this kind of potential is extremely rare."

"Continue"

Lieutenant Rock: "I will try to be brief, but first his combat ability is through the roof, with little to no support on his first day in a combat class. He managed to go head-to-head with one of his seniors, who is renowned for mastering a very powerful fire art.

He is extremely intelligent, according to instructor Alina, who was responsible for teaching him about intelligence, espionage, and counterintelligence. As a part of the training, she made a scenario that was actually a real case for the seeds to solve, which he managed to solve easily."

"High intelligence for him can be a double-edged sword. If he is as highly intelligent as you say, then you have to be much more wary of him, especially as you are observing him."

Lieutenant Rock: "I took that under consideration, your lordship, but he really did not exhibit any abnormal behavior.

After that, he showed a very high talent in alchemy.

A strange thing happened in the alchemy class. It started with instructor Mark…

And that's how unknowingly to him, he solved a serious pandemic up north that was proven to be man-made of unnatural origins."

"Such a high talent, or maybe this is just part of a scenario already cooked by whoever has his back."

The lieutenant's expression changed as this idea sent a chill down his spine.

Lieutenant Rock: "why would they jeopardize the whole operation that could have crippled the northern part of the federation even to the extent of damaging the foundation of the human race just to implant a single spy and give him some credit for solving an emergency. I…. I'm sorry for my rudeness, your lordship, but I find this to be extremely far-fetched."

"That is because you are young, and you have never seen the early days of this organization; otherwise, you would think this is the norm for them. These traitors are a plague that always threatens to destroy us all."

Lieutenant Rock: "I will look into it, your lordship."

"Don't bother. If they really did something like this, then the card is already burned to give their spy an edge; however, if he wasn't a spy and this was due to his talent, then we might have secured an extremely important seed that may one day become a pillar for the human race to stand on."

Lieutenant Rock: "I will continue; afterward, I gathered all the instructors to have a face-to-face talk about him. The combat instructor mentioned that he had the ability to enter the trance state as he did multiple times already."

"A trance state!!"

Lieutenant Rock: "Indeed, your lordship, according to her, almost every time she pushed him to the limit during their combat sessions, he would absolutely enter the state. Not failing a single time to do so"

"Is it voluntary or involuntary?"

Shaking his head as he answered.

Lieutenant Rock: "It is an involuntary response as he could not control when to go into a trance or not, but according to his instructor, with training he can almost certainly control the state, which skyrocketed his value to our organization."

Silence; it's all the lieutenant received as he felt the passing of each second goes by like a decade, suffocating him.

Lieutenant Rock: "If I may my Lord, I really don't think he is a spy; after all, who is crazy enough to send some talent that even the higher-ups and the federation would fight for just to serve as a spy? But this is my only thought; please excuse my rudeness."

The silence continued until a few minutes later, when the whole graphic image responded with a dead serious voice.

"I do find it unreal for those traitors to send someone of this caliber just to serve as a spy that they could discard any minute. Continue for now."

Lieutenant Rock: "His survival ability and out-of-the-box thinking were evident and displayed for us all to see during his last mission and surviving training session in the pocket dimension, where his team of three managed to take down a 9th stage beast without even the need to engage.

He is careful, meticulous, and extremely smart. He used his knowledge of herbs and various natural and earth treasures to make a poison and use it in a very elaborate way to finish his assassination mission.

I included everything in detail in my report, and if I may say, it is actually an interesting read."

"Hooo, he used poison, inflicting it on a creature that he can control, then delivering this creature to be food for his target, completely achieving the purpose with minimum effort. Even I would not have thought of something like this at his age or even when I was in the program."

Lieutenant Rock: "My Lord, he further showed me his own adaptability to circumstances, especially in his last class, which was specialized combat against beasts. He managed to find two ways to clear the task, completely shocking the poor instructor who did not have the time to even start teaching the seeds."

"And above all of this, He is a spatial talent user with unknown capabilities in this regard."

Lieutenant Rock: "I wouldn't call it an abnormality, but there is something that I have to report that seems out of the ordinary."

"As I told you before, even the little things matter, so do talk."

Lieutenant Rock: "According to the doctor responsible for the seed program, seed number 33 definitely has some kind of past trauma. I included multiple incidents where signs of this trauma were exhibited.

But… but…. I looked through all his records, and I even ordered an investigation under the pretext of verifying essential information, yet I found nothing of that sort.

Everything about his upbringing is ordinary, which is the only thing that alarmed me, my lord."

"It is not just you."

Lieutenant Rock: "I'm sorry, my road But can you clarify?

"The reason I'm insistent on him being a spy is other than the abnormalities that were found around him when he first enrolled in the program.

I did a search on him but also came up empty.

The 𝘮ost uptodat𝑒 novels are pub𝙡ished on freeweɓnovēl.coɱ.

His background is ordinary; I did everything I could, and I used every single information source I had, and the only thing I could come up with is that his information is fabricated."

Lieutenant Rock: "False identity!!!!"

"It is legit, so carefully created and crafted that no one can find fault in it, but there is a single inconsistency that I found, which actually made me reach this conclusion."

Lieutenant Rock: "We can't allow someone with unknown origin to stay in this program."

"We can't dismiss him. He is far too valuable, especially after hearing you report more about him. He is indispensable for this organization."

Lieutenant Rock: "But…"

"Just think of it: who can create such an elaborate identity that even I can't find anything wrong with it? It was merely luck that I stumbled upon a single small inconsistency after thorough research.

Someone or some entity or organization, or maybe the traitors who have a very high standing in the federation, to actually pull something like this.

Even for me, it was a sobering moment."

Lieutenant Rock: "That's why you wanted me to raise his observation status to surveillance."

"Indeed, He is a fruit that is full of a sweet nectar dangled in front of us to taste, but now we are in fear of this fruit being poisonous, so what we do from now on regarding this fruit is important.

It's maybe tasting the sweetest nectar or introducing a deadly poison; this is our responsibility, you and me both."

Water drops slid over the lieutenant's face as he felt his back, which was completely drenched in sweat. The lieutenant, for the first time ever, found himself with a mountain of burden on his shoulders, threatening to crush him.

"I will talk with the others; meanwhile, upgrade him from an observation target to a surveillance one, stay awake, and keep an eye on him; try to get the doctor to find the root of his trauma; it might be a very important clue. Good work, lieutenant."
