Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Envoys from the Holy Land! Target: Dragon Vein!

The Hidden Moon Commander was a being of supreme status. Compared to the two people before him, however, he seemed utterly insignificant. This was because they came from the legendary Holy Land.

Although the Hidden Moon Country and the Great Xia Country were regional hegemons, in the grand scheme of the world, only the Holy Land was the true ruler. The Hidden Moon Commander knew he had to do his utmost to please these two. If he could satisfy them, he might even get a chance to enter the Holy Land and cultivate. The mere thought of it made him tremble with excitement.

The Hidden Moon Commander said resolutely, "No one can obtain the Array Key."

"That’s good," the woman in white nodded. As she gazed into the depths of the Dragon Vein, a single thought consumed her. I must obtain the Power of the Candle Dragon within this place.

"Elder Wan, let’s begin," the woman in white said.

The white-haired old man nodded. He waved his hand dismissively at the Hidden Moon Commander and said, "Go outside and guard this place. Do not allow anyone to enter."

"As you command. Rest assured, sirs, with me on watch, I guarantee not even a fly will get in."

The Hidden Moon Commander led his people outside the Dragon Vein, where they formed a tight defensive perimeter to guard the entire area.

Inside the Dragon Vein, Elder Wan began to form seals, starting the process of cracking the Array.

Half a day later, an earth-shattering horn blast echoed from outside.

The woman in white frowned, and Elder Wan paused, his own brow furrowing. "What’s going on?" he asked.

Soon, the Hidden Moon Commander rushed back in, his face etched with anxiety. "This is bad!" he exclaimed. "The Dragon’s Roar Legion has launched an attack! The Dragon Commander himself is leading them this time. I must return to take command."

"But don’t worry, Elder Wan, I will leave others here to guard."

"Alright, go ahead," Elder Wan waved his hand.

He didn’t seem too concerned. Soon, the Hidden Moon Commander departed, returning to his main camp to rally his forces and counter the attack. The forces of the Hidden Moon Country charged out, arriving on the battlefield to face the Dragon’s Roar Legion.

When he arrived, the Hidden Moon Commander’s face turned grim. He discovered that the Dragon’s Roar Legion had mobilized an overwhelming force. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

What’s going on? It looks like the entire Dragon’s Roar Legion has been deployed! Is the Dragon Commander insane? Is he trying to force a final, decisive battle?

Not only was the Hidden Moon Commander stunned, but his Generals were also in an uproar. One of them said, "Commander, the Dragon’s Roar Legion’s charge is ferocious!"

"Hmph!" The Hidden Moon Commander snorted coldly. "Focus on defense! Do not engage them head-on. Also, summon our reinforcements. Once the main army arrives, I will annihilate them!"

Meanwhile, the Dragon Commander simply waved his hand. "Kill!"

With that single word, he soared into the sky, leading the charge. Behind him, the Dragon’s Roar Warriors surged forward, drawing their blades and attacking with frenzied determination.

"Attack!" the Hidden Moon Commander roared, launching himself into the sky to intercept the Dragon Commander. His Hidden Moon Warriors followed close behind, and the two armies clashed.

The battle erupted instantly, its brutality apparent from the very first clash.

The Azure Tiger Dragon General and the Flying Dragon General charged into the fray. The Marshals and Centurions under their command quickly mobilized as well. Generals faced generals and soldiers fought soldiers, each warrior seeking out their counterpart on the opposing side.

From a distance, Lin Xuan and the others watched the unfolding chaos. The Greenhill Dragon General explained quietly, "Let’s wait. The battle has only just begun. The Hidden Moon Country still has experts who haven’t arrived. Once they are all drawn into the fight, we can sneak into the Dragon Vein."

Lin Xuan nodded in agreement.

The battle at the front was exceptionally fierce. Before long, the forces of the Hidden Moon Country were being pushed back relentlessly. They had no other option; the Dragon’s Roar Legion’s all-out assault was simply too powerful.

"Defend! Quickly, defend!" the Hidden Moon Generals bellowed.

The Hidden Moon Commander roared, "Hurry! Summon our experts!"

War drums thundered. From the Hidden Moon Country’s camp, powerful figures rushed out to join the battle. The two sides clashed once more, and with these reinforcements, the Hidden Moon forces temporarily managed to hold off the Dragon’s Roar Legion’s offensive.

The Hidden Moon Commander breathed a sigh of relief. But just then, the Dragon Commander waved his hand, and another contingent charged in from a distance. It was the squad from the Imperial City. With their arrival, the strength of the Dragon’s Roar Legion swelled once again, and they began to suppress the soldiers of the Hidden Moon Country.

Warriors of the Hidden Moon Country fell one after another. The eyes of their comrades turned red with fury, and the Hidden Moon Commander gritted his teeth. He wanted to intercept this newly joined squad, but he was blocked by the Dragon Commander.

The Dragon Commander snorted coldly. "Your opponent is me."

With that, he slashed his saber forward. The arc of the blade blazed like a great dragon as it descended upon the Hidden Moon Commander.

"Get out of my way!" the Hidden Moon Commander roared.

The clash between the two commanders was powerful enough to shake the heavens and the earth. Fortunately, their duel took place high in the sky and did not affect the battle below. Otherwise, the mere aftershocks of their power would have been enough to obliterate countless warriors.

But after only a few exchanges, the Hidden Moon Commander’s expression turned grim. Cries of agony echoed endlessly from below. His men were being suppressed once again.

"Retreat! Quickly, retreat!" The Hidden Moon Commander had no choice but to give the order to fall back.

"Withdraw!" his Generals roared from the ground below. The entire army began to retreat while fending off attacks.

"Press the advantage! Kill them all! Leave no one alive!" the Dragon Commander ordered. Below, the Dragon’s Roar Warriors surged forward, relentlessly pursuing the retreating Hidden Moon forces.

More and more Hidden Moon Warriors fell, and the Hidden Moon Commander’s eyes turned bloodshot. "Damn it! Are you trying to wipe us out completely? Do you really think the Hidden Moon Country is defenseless?" he roared. "Keep summoning our men!"

But a General below yelled back in desperation, "Commander, there’s no one left to summon!"

"How is that possible?" the Commander roared. They had only brought two-thirds of their army; there should still be one-third of their experts available!

"Commander, you’ve forgotten! They’re all at the Dragon Vein!"

Damn it! The Hidden Moon Commander gritted his teeth so hard they nearly shattered. Only then did he remember that a large number of his elite forces were gathered to guard the Dragon Vein.

When the Dragon Commander overheard this, he raised an eyebrow. He immediately gave an order: press the attack at all costs. He had to make the Hidden Moon Commander feel the sting of loss so acutely that he would be forced to summon the experts from the Dragon Vein. Only when those guards were gone would the Dragon Vein be vulnerable, giving Lin Xuan the chance he needed to get inside.

As expected, the Dragon’s Roar Legion attacked without restraint. The Hidden Moon forces suffered catastrophic losses as they were driven back again and again. Finally, the Hidden Moon Commander couldn’t take it anymore. "Quickly, summon all the warriors from the Dragon Vein!" he commanded. They had to focus on the battle. They had to win this fight first. If they lost on the battlefield, the Dragon Vein would be lost anyway. Repelling the Dragon’s Roar Legion had to be their top priority.

Soon, a General arrived outside the Dragon Vein. He waved his arm and announced, "By the Commander’s order, you are all to follow me to the battlefield!"

"As you command!"

The Hidden Moon Warriors guarding the Dragon Vein mobilized instantly. They departed for the battlefield and soon joined the fight. With their reinforcements, they finally managed to halt the Dragon’s Roar Legion’s advance, bringing the two sides to a stalemate.

Seeing this, the Greenhill Dragon General said, "It’s about time. Champion Marquis, let’s go."

"Right, let’s move," Lin Xuan replied, getting to his feet. The small group set out quietly, their target: the Dragon Vein.

「On the other side」

Inside the Dragon Vein, the woman in white remarked, "Most of the Hidden Moon Warriors outside have left."

Elder Wan chuckled. "Moon Fairy, do not worry. I will tear open the Array shortly, and then you can go in. Once you’re inside, I will close the Array again. At that point, no one else will be able to get in. Didn’t the Hidden Moon Commander say that no one could get the Array Key? Therefore, besides you, no one else will be able to enter."
