Ten Thousand Dragons Technique-Chapter 284: Number One on the Hidden Dragon Chart! Lin Xuan!
"Damn, is it Sword Wushuang’s turn to fight again?"
"He was just severely injured. Does he still have the strength to continue?"
"Chu Yue’s luck is just too good! I feel like she’s going to win this match."
"Damn, is Chu Yue actually going to be the runner-up?"
"There’s no way she can beat Sword Wushuang, right?"
"Is Sword Wushuang going to lose again? That’s not fair!"
The crowd buzzed with discussion. Wan Tianming and the others were incredibly envious; Chu Yue’s luck was simply off the charts. With her actual skill, under normal circumstances, she would be no match for Sword Wushuang. But now, it seemed she was about to reap a massive windfall.
"Hahaha!" The people from the Star Pavilion were getting excited. "Senior Sister Chu Yue is truly favored by destiny!"
"Second place is excellent! So what if she’s not as good as Lin Xuan?"
"No matter how strong Lin Xuan is, he’s no match for Chu Zhongtian."
"So what if we let him take first place?"
Chu Yue, her face flushed with even more excitement, stepped onto the arena. The members of the Celestial Sword Sect, on the other hand, were in complete despair. Sword Wushuang was going to be defeated again. This time, however, they couldn’t accept it. They had no complaints about losing to Lin Xuan, who was a Grandmaster-level existence. But who did this Chu Yue think she was? Under normal circumstances, she couldn’t even block a single one of Sword Wushuang’s strikes.
"Sword Wushuang, just admit defeat. You’re no match for me," Chu Yue mocked.
Her arrogance was infuriating.
"Who do you think you are? Normally, Sword Wushuang could finish you with a single strike!" the disciples of the Celestial Sword Sect roared.
Chu Yue merely sneered. "If you’re not convinced, you can come up here and fight me."
"I will not concede," Sword Wushuang said, forcing himself to his feet. His body swayed precariously, looking as if he might collapse with every step.
"Wushuang, just give up. Don’t push yourself," the elders pleaded.
"Concede? To Chu Yue? She isn’t worthy," Sword Wushuang said, shaking his head. He turned to an elder beside him. "Help me over there."
Supported by the others, Sword Wushuang made his way onto the arena. Everyone watched with extreme worry. He’s so weak, why is he still fighting? He should just concede.
The people from the Star Pavilion began to taunt him. "He can’t even stand steady, and he thinks he can challenge Chu Yue? Dream on!"
"So much for Sword Wushuang. He can’t even withstand a single blow."
"Senior Sister Chu Yue will defeat him! Send him flying with one palm!"
"Since you refuse to concede, don’t blame me for being discourteous," Chu Yue sneered from across the arena. She raised her hand and struck forward with her palm.
"It’s the Dragon Palm!" people in the crowd exclaimed.
The members of the Celestial Sword Sect were furious. This woman was too ruthless! The Dragon Palm was terrifyingly powerful, and in Sword Wushuang’s weakened state, there was no way he could possibly withstand it.
The other spectators gasped.
"It’s clear Chu Yue wants to show off in front of the Emperor," someone remarked.
"It’s over. Sword Wushuang is in for a miserable end."
Although this palm strike wasn’t as powerful as Lin Xuan’s, its might was still astonishing. The crowd shook their heads and sighed. The people from the Celestial Sword Sect couldn’t bear to watch and closed their eyes, convinced that Sword Wushuang was about to meet a terrible fate.
But as Sword Wushuang looked at the incoming palm, his face was filled with disdain. "You’re a million miles away from Lin Xuan’s level. A palm strike like this can’t do anything to me."
As he spoke, he raised his arm and unleashed a sword strike.
With a soft hiss, his sword pierced through the Dragon Palm! A scream echoed as Chu Yue was sent flying backward, a fresh sword mark appearing on her body.
What?
The members of the Celestial Sword Sect opened their eyes, completely dumbfounded. The surrounding crowd was equally stunned. Chu Yue had actually lost. She was sent flying by a single sword strike. It was too unbelievable!
On the arena, Sword Wushuang’s face was even paler. His body swayed, but his voice was as sharp as ice. "I may be wounded, but that doesn’t mean just any riffraff can challenge me."
Everyone was in shock. Is Sword Wushuang really that strong? Can he defeat Chu Yue with a single move even when severely injured? It was too incredible. The crowd went wild.
How could this have happened? Chu Yue collapsed to the ground, clutching her wound, her face a mask of despair. I couldn’t even block a single one of his strikes? How is that possible?
Unconvinced, she tried to stand up and counterattack. But the moment she moved, her meridians trembled violently. She coughed, spitting out a mouthful of blood. It turned out the sword strike had carried an intense Sword Intent that had pierced through her body. Now, the residual Sword Intent was wreaking havoc on her meridians.
Terrified, Chu Yue immediately stopped moving. So this is the power of Sword Intent? It’s too strong... It completely overwhelms me. I’m no match for him at all.
Damn it, how did Lin Xuan defeat his Sword Intent? Just how strong is Lin Xuan? Chu Yue’s confidence shattered.
The people from the Star Pavilion were also completely bewildered.
"Did Senior Sister Chu Yue lose just like that?"
"Was the Dragon Palm so easily defeated?"
How could this be?
The other spectators started to murmur among themselves.
"Chu Yue’s situation is truly pitiful."
"What a loser. She couldn’t even take the opportunity when it was handed to her."
"Even with Sword Wushuang so severely injured, she still wasn’t a match for him."
"I guess this Chu Yue really is useless."
"Sigh, her abilities are just at the level of riffraff."
"She can’t be considered a top-tier genius."
As the crowd’s discussions swirled, the Emperor merely gave the scene a silent glance before turning his gaze away, no longer interested.
How could it be like this? Chu Yue’s body trembled with rage. I’m useless? I’m so easily defeated? Damn it, damn it all! She was so furious her eyes rolled back into her head, and she fainted.
"What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and carry her back before she embarrasses herself further!" the people from Wangyue Pavilion mocked. The members of the Star Pavilion were so frustrated they could have coughed up blood.
「」
The competition continued.
Although Sword Wushuang was severely injured, he could still wield his Sword Intent. When his Sword Intent was unleashed, no one could stand against it.
Eventually, all the battles concluded, and the final rankings were decided. Everyone watched in excited anticipation.
RUMBLE...
The arena slowly descended, sinking back into the earth. From within Purple Mountain, a heaven-shaking dragon’s roar resounded as a purple light surged forth, transforming into a giant dragon. The dragon opened its mouth and spat out a scroll that descended from the sky like a purple waterfall. Radiant purple light emanated from it.
Engraved on the scroll were three large characters: Hidden Dragon Chart!
At the very top of the Hidden Dragon Chart, a name emerged.
Hidden Dragon Chart Number One, Lin Xuan!
Seeing this, the crowd erupted in another wave of exclamations. Then, just below Lin Xuan’s name, another appeared.
Hidden Dragon Chart Number Two, Sword Wushuang!
Hidden Dragon Chart Number Three, Yan Chitian!
Hidden Dragon Chart Number Four, Beichen!
Hidden Dragon Chart Number Five, Chu Yue!
Number Six, Wan Tianming.
Number Seven, Cang Yunlong.
Number Eight, Ouyang Changfeng.
Number Nine, Du Xuaner.
...
Hidden Dragon Chart Number Twelve, Ye Qingwu!
...
One by one, a total of one hundred names appeared on the list. They were the one hundred most dazzling geniuses in the Great Xia Country. And Lin Xuan... he was a genius among geniuses. Soon, Lin Xuan’s name would once again resonate throughout the entire Great Xia Country.
"First place is ours!" The people from the Heavenly Dao Institute cheered with excitement. Those from Wangyue Pavilion, in particular, were ecstatic.
Over at the Star Pavilion, everyone’s faces were ashen. They looked completely dejected, their heads hung low. Shangguan Hao and Leng Rushuang knelt on the ground, trembling with fear. After having challenged Lin Xuan so provocatively, they would be doomed if he decided to seek revenge.
Chu Yue was also filled with despair. She had only ranked fifth. While this was an excellent ranking in the eyes of others, it was nothing compared to Lin Xuan. She had been utterly eclipsed by him. Before, she had never even considered him a rival, but now, she was forced to look up at him.
The elders of the Star Pavilion also looked on with desperation. Lin Xuan’s talent and strength were now a genuine threat to Chu Zhongtian. The Star Pavilion Master’s expression was even darker. He had been ruthlessly slapped in the face by Lin Xuan.
The Heavenly Dao Principal, however, was overjoyed. For a genius like Lin Xuan to appear in the Heavenly Dao Institute was a blessing of three lifetimes.
As for the other families and sects, they could only watch with boundless envy. When will a peerless prodigy like that emerge from our family or sect?
Wan Tianming, Yan Chitian, and the others gazed at Lin Xuan with pure admiration. Lin Xuan was truly about to soar to the heavens.
After all the rankings were revealed, the Emperor stood up once more and announced in a booming voice, "Next, I will personally present the award to Lin Xuan. And as an additional reward, I will give him a truly magnificent gift." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Everyone thrilled at his words. The reward for first place was already heaven-defying. What could the magnificent gift be?
Even Lin Xuan was filled with eager anticipation.
