Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 204
Xie Yue was sitting at his desk and going through his hair with his anger boiling inside him.
He had not been okay with Hu Liena going to Slaughter City. But his stubborn sister had insisted, and thus she went, with the blessing of the supreme pontiff. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Yan was also training, serving as a commander of the troops, and then there was Luciana.
Lucy.
Oh, he did not even want to think of it. Lately, she has been calm. Nothing of particularly catastrophic proportions is happening. In fact, she was serving a similar post to Yan and doing a good job at it a fighteningly good job. Just the nagging feeling that something was not right did not subside inside him, so he had declined the same position.
He should be out there as well, working for Wuhun his mind nagged him yet, he had requested a more administrative job for a reason he didn't even know himself, and what he saw chilled him to the core. Spirit Hall was preparing for a war. The amounts of money and the spirit master mobilisation. It was crystal clear, although nothing unusual at first, and obviously not visible at first glance but upon the second and the third. As soon as he was involved in the movements and intricacies of money, it was apparent, additionally, given his high status as Hu Lienas brother no one here kept their secrets towards him.
But what was the goal?
He thundered down the papers, stood up and then walked out of his office. He wanted to know, whom he would be fighting, what was it that they wanted to achieve. His cultivation had suffered a bit due to his choice of an administrative post, but he had kept up, so when he made his way out into Vast Sea City, no one hindered him.
Not that anyone would dare.
He refused to be oblivious to the intricate ongoing world around him any longer. Refused to not know, he needed to know, even if he would never abandon his loyalities, he refused to be blindly loyal.
It was time to walk his own path. Heading down the street, people made way for him as he clutched a piece of paper with an address on it and a somewhat convoluted description of how to get there.
Thousand flower mechanics.
A small mechanic store for nifty inventions beneath the name of his principal owners, Gale and Damian.
Two people whom he had figured out were members of the former Nuoding Literary Department, the same one where Ning Feng, the Tang Twins, and Xiao Wu had been. The third silent partner to their store was a Spirit Master called Yu Hua.
While he didn't know much, he did know it was too much of a coincidence. The information about the small, almost minuscule primary school department had been deeply hidden, and whoever he asked, their mouths had closed, and people said it was nothing he should be concerned about.
Still digging into it had brought forth interesting information.
Gale was a member of the fleeting winds. A small but secretive sect at the outermost corner of the Star Dou Empire. Damian, the son of a well-known, wealthy trader had gone through and won a significant inheritance war. A war, the young man had not only walked out victorious but also overtook his father's company with his own and now led, so whispers were the local Mafia clans into legalisation. He had cleaned up the streets throughout the city with brutal effectiveness and ruthless calculation.
If half of what was whispered about Damian was true, then he didn't want to make an enemy of him. Spirit master or not.
Yu Hua was even more of a mystery. All he knew was that the young man was a successful arena fighter who had vanished from the face of the earth about five or six years ago. He gasped, his teeth heading into a side street, and then mentally walking down the complicated labyrinthine city pathways.
Tang San was obvious; he, Xiao Wu and Ning Feng had been high profile, unlike the other three, but two different names frequently appeared, but he couldn't make much out of them. Tang Yin, Tang Sans's twin sister, was apparently protected by the sword douluo and seven treasures. A spirit master rumoured to be more talented than ever her brother, but far less high profile, and Jiang, who was an enigma.
Jiang was a spirit master of unknown origins, unknown power, and unknown age, who had simply appeared one day with the Twins and their group. Appearing and disappearing for infrequent amounts of time without rhyme or reason.
He stood in front of the store. It was open. Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside and looked straight at the customer-friendly and smiling face of the Vast Sea Mafia Boss.
"Hello. Welcome, to thousand flower mechanics. Are there enough here to browse or search for something specific?"
"Something specific." Xie Yue said, looking into eyes so dark brown they were almost black. Deciding to be straight forward."I am a... friend of Ning Fengs. I would like to send a message to her, and I would like to ask for information."
Damian's face was expressionless. "The next post office is down the street, second left, right at the corner. For information, I cannot help; we are a mechanics store."
"You are Tang Sect, right? Damian from Nuoding Literary Department." He said, and nothing changed in he man's expression. Xie Yue knew he had his attention, though. His gaze flickered to the sketch on the wall. Seven children smiling, and beneath it in tiny letters, Nuoding Literary Department.
"Tang San, Tang Yin, Ning Feng, You, Gale, Yu Hua, Xiao Wu and Jiang." He said, looking at it. "I want to speak to them."
Behind the counter, a young man with freckles, a lanky build, and a brown mop of curly hair, tamed by a headband, came from the balcony.
"Damian, I think he knows exactly where he is. So, how come they honoured Xie Yue, a spirit hall's golden generation, gracing this small commoner store? You are not known for your humility, but rather the opposite."
"I told you already. I want knowledge and I want to ... send a message to Ning Feng. Whom I consider my friend. I would not believe a man whom I know wrote a considerable number of studies on spirit mastery to not be aware of such things." He put a letter on the counter. One adressed to Ning Feng and one to the two men in front of him.
"Feng does not have many friends. I would have heard about you if she had." Gale pointed out. "We both would."
"Then she sent a letter, inquiring about me. I will come back." He turned and left the store in the hope he hadn't made a mistake just now.
Damian and Gale were left behind in the store.
"Why is it that when Feng makes some friends, it is always difficult ones?" Damian grumbled, and Gale shrugged his shoulders.
"How am I supposed ot know. It is a talent she shares with Yin. However, she befriended Xie Yue's is a tale I want to know. Inquire about him. He didn't sound like he was lying, but...you never know."
"Already writing," Gale said. "This is nothing if not foreboding." Then Gale opened the letter adressed to them an sucked in a sharp breath. "Though...I think he is serious."
