Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 228: Shopping
Andria’s POV
But finding out that he actually said that surprised me. No wonder Allison acted the way she did to me. She thought I didn’t deserve her brother, among other things.
"Aven said that? Then what changed?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me. I would rather hear it from his sister first, before confronting him about it.
"I’m not in the position to tell why. Maybe you should ask him yourself," she replied, facing off.
I was pretty disappointed, but I understood the reason why she didn’t go ahead.
"I’ve spilt a lot already, and I feel like I’m going to have it hot with him when he finds out I told you, which he will, because I know you would confront him about it, whether I told you what changed or not.
So I should keep the remaining part to myself because it’s just a mere insinuation," she explained, as if she could read the disappointment on my face.
"I understand," I replied calmly.
"What’s going on here?" Becca asked as she approached us with her own choice of dresses.
She got a pink dress with silver designs and an emerald dress with gold designs. It was pretty from the Maison de Lauren collection, a relatively expensive collection, but not as expensive as the league of St. Ivey.
"Your dresses are pretty. Quite an excellent choice," I exclaimed.
"Yes, they are pretty. But have you seen Aria’s choice? They aren’t as expensive, but they are so elegant. I love the glossy red dress the most," Allison announced.
"Let me see it," Becca requested, her eyes filled with surprise and excitement.
"Let’s not do all this here; we still have a lot to shop, and our time is already far spent," I replied, diverting the subject. "Let’s head to the footwear sections."
"It’s almost thirty minutes. We have barely forty-five minutes to finish up our shopping," Allison exclaimed.
"You get it," I replied.
We scurried to the footwear section.
"I’ll try the heels first, and then I’ll get some canvas and maybe sandals, flats and slides," Becca suggested.
"I think that’s a nice suggestion, since we got the dinner dresses first, we have to get heels to match first," Allison added.
We went for the heels. I got a beautiful black-and-silver kitten heel, and then I got a white red-bottomed heel. The red bottom should be the most expensive item I bought today, because I truly desired it.
Allison desired to offset the bill, but I turned her down. After much persuasion, I finally agreed because she said it was a sorry gift.
We got canvases, beautiful ones. I always found myself going for the cheaper collections, while Becca and Allison went for the higher-priced collections.
Becca didn’t care whether a friend suggested helping her out; she would gladly take it, unlike my insecure, second-guessing intuition.
"I think we have gotten enough footwear, don’t you think?" I asked, as I moved out of the section.
"Yeah, we have gotten enough already. This boutique is the best, Sir Kaelric has good eyes for good things and places," Becca exclaimed.
"Not being able to find boutiques makes you think this is the best in all of the kingdom," Allison countered.
"I hear you, Miss royalty," Becca retorted, hissing out loudly and dramatically.
Allison burst out laughing.
We headed to the jewellery section. I picked silver, gold, emerald, and diamonds. Allison choked on me. I decided to get her something too, so I forced an emerald earring on her.
Becca burst out laughing at the dramatic scene.
I mean, she compelled me to gift her something; she can’t just be the one gifting all the time, it makes the relationship one-sided.
"Thank you, Ari," she mumbled excitedly, and then winked at me.
I didn’t understand the meaning of the wink until she started dragging me down expensive collections in each section we stopped at.
We stopped at the bag section, and she dropped a sapphire purse from the Brandon collection on me. "I’m not buying this. It wouldn’t go with any of my dresses," I voiced. "Besides, it’s quite expensive, and I won’t let you get it for me."
"Who said I was going to ask you for permission? You will have it whether you like it or not," she said, chuckling excitedly.
"You are impossible, Allison," I muttered.
I ignored her as she kept picking leather bags, beaded purses, and so on and dumping them into my cart.
"Remember to shop yours," Becca said aloud.
"Of course, I’ve got myself," Allison replied.
Just then, someone bumped my shoulder and crossed. It was Liara, Alexa and Tricia.
Of course, no other student would be so stupid and blind. Of all the spaces and walkways, Alexa, the troublesome minion, decided to bump into me instead as if I was standing in her way.
"What happened to your eye?" I asked, pulling her back with the sleeve of her dress.
"How dare you touch me!" She yelled, as if I was hitting her. "You are the one blocking my path, and yet you want to fight me?"
"You love scenes, and I can see you are trying to create one. But I need to remind you that this isn’t Ashwood, so you need to be careful in order not to represent Ashwood in an ill manner," I shot back at her calmly, stating each word clearly and firmly.
She didn’t know what else to say, so she just clicked her teeth and walked away.
"You dealt perfectly well with her," Allison clapped.
"I mean, Alexa, the queen of comebacks had nothing else to say to you," Becca added.
"See the way she pretended like she didn’t know what she just did by trying to push you. Pretending like you are the one in the wrong and blocking her path," Allison laughed.
"I’m sure she wasn’t expecting Aria’s reply. She wanted a banter of who was in the wrong, and Aria wasn’t going to give her that satisfaction," Becca chuckled.
"I already felt her energy; she came prepared for a fight, but someone needed to put her in place without fighting.
She was already doing too much back then in the bus, so this was just the best opportunity to tell her off," I said, and they all nodded, laughing and clapping their hands.
"I think we are done shopping," Becca announced.
