Taming SSR And UR RANK Superwomen-Chapter 49 — The Abyss and Naked Heroines
The ship gradually reduced its speed until the constant roar of the engines turned into a deep, almost solemn vibration. Thomas, Ashley, and Angel remained on the forward deck when the immensity finally appeared before them.
The edge of the Abyss.
It was not a simple crack or a trench comparable to anything on Earth. It was a colossal hole opened in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, so absurdly immense that it erased any sense of the outside world.
The horizon seemed to break there. There was no clear line separating sea and sky beyond the edge, because the entire ocean appeared to tilt toward that monstrosity and vanish into it.
The water fell endlessly.
Entire rivers of the Atlantic plunged downward, forming colossal waterfalls around the perimeter. The thunder was constant, deep and powerful, as if the entire world were being drained into the depths.
In the distance, the mist rising from those falling waters mixed with the wind, forming a salty fog that soaked skin and clothing.
Thomas and Ashley stood still.
In front of them, about a kilometer from the edge, stretched a gigantic port anchored on a combination of metallic platforms, reinforced rock, and human structures that seemed embedded directly into the coast of the Abyss.
It was not just a dock—it was an entire base designed to sustain life for months.
There were long multi-level buildings, storage depots, workshops, infirmaries, rest areas, communication antennas, hangars, and even platforms where several helicopters waited in line to transport back those who exited the Abyss by air.
It was clearly a place built for women who lived there for long periods, receiving ships, sending off expeditions, monitoring the area, and assisting those entering or leaving that hellish place.
The wind struck them hard.
Ashley’s hair whipped behind her. Thomas’s clothes snapped violently in the gusts. Even Angel had to elegantly hold part of her skirt to prevent the wind from lifting it more than it should.
Ashley parted her lips slightly.
"This is insane..."
Thomas did not respond right away. His eyes remained fixed on the impossible void stretching beyond the port.
"I’ve never seen anything this big," he finally admitted.
Ashley smiled faintly, still staring at the Abyss.
"Someday I’ll have to come here."
"Does it excite you?" Thomas asked.
"Of course." Ashley lifted her chin slightly, with that natural confidence that seemed inseparable from her. "If I’m going to become a great heroine, I’ll have to get used to places like this."
Angel glanced at both of them from the corner of her eye and smiled with quiet satisfaction.
The ship finished docking with careful maneuvers. As soon as they descended the main ramp, the noise of the port surrounded them: shouted orders in the distance, cargo engines, metal wheels sliding along rails, chains tightening, and the constant rumble of water falling into the Abyss like a background curtain that never stopped.
As soon as they stepped onto the pier, a long transport vehicle waited for them on a straight track.
It was not exactly a train, though it functioned like one: a mobile platform enclosed by railings and anchored to a linear system that crossed a large portion of the port until it reached the operational edge of the Abyss.
During the ride, Thomas observed the place carefully. Armed women moved between the buildings.
Some carried crates; others dragged technical equipment; others spoke seriously in front of maps and screens installed in open areas.
Nothing there looked improvised. Everything had been designed to withstand isolation, psychological pressure, and the brutality of the environment.
The vehicle continued forward in a straight line. The closer they got to the edge, the more dominant the void became.
Ashley gently tightened her grip on the railing.
"It feels like we’re going to fall, even though we’re still far away."
When the transport finally stopped, Thomas stepped down and walked several paces until the natural terrain began to dominate over the human structures.
There the rock sloped slightly toward a series of descents, platforms, and access points that led into the Abyss.
Some sections were natural eroded stone, while others had been reinforced by humanity with metal and concrete stairs, short bridges, support bars, and anchor points.
Thomas stepped a little closer. The hole opened beneath his feet like the mouth of a hungry god.
It was so deep and dark that the eye could not find any bottom. Only shadows, mist, air currents, and far below, the occasional reflection of a waterfall disappearing into the blackness.
Then a memory surfaced. His chest tightened.
’And to think I was down there because of the system.’
The thought did not come like an ordinary idea, but like a physical truth. That day when the system punished him... he had been inside that monstrosity.
And there was also that heat. It was not the lethal, devastating heat he had experienced on other occasions. It was subtler.
Thomas swallowed without looking away.
"Boo!"
Thomas screamed and jumped violently forward, flailing both arms in fright.
"What the hell?!"
Ashley stood behind him, doubled over with laughter, clutching her stomach.
"Your face!" she said between bursts of laughter.
Thomas placed a hand on his chest.
"That’s not funny! My heart actually sped up a lot!"
That only made Ashley laugh harder.
"You looked like you were about to fall into the void!"
"Exactly! That’s the problem!"
Ashley wiped a tear of laughter from the corner of her eye and started walking away, still laughing.
"You’re way too easy, Thomas."
"Oh, really?"
Thomas grabbed her by the arm while she was still laughing. He pulled her to the edge of the Abyss and tilted her just enough so her body hung over the drop.
Ashley laughed and, playing along, pretended sarcastic terror.
"Oh nooo. I’m so scared. I’m going to fall to my certain death."
At that moment, a woman dressed in a military uniform shouted at them with a deep, powerful voice:
"Hey! Get away from the edge! This isn’t a playground!"
The shout was so loud that Ashley began laughing quietly while they murmured to each other.
"You got scolded," Ashley commented.
"Both of us. All because of you."
"You just got here and you’re already doing your nonsense, Thomas."
"You were the one who started it!"
Shortly afterward they reached the area where the real descent began. There the wind changed completely.
It was not just a strong current—it was a wild upward gale rising from the interior of the Abyss, filled with moisture and mist and strong enough to knock anyone off balance.
Because of that, several anchor points had been embedded directly into the rock near the entrance.
Thick metal bars firmly fixed to the ground ran parallel to part of the path, and beside them were special belts with reinforced locks that had to be fastened around the waist and attached through a sliding system.
Angel explained the procedure calmly.
"Without this, a badly timed gust could throw you several meters. It’s not unusual for newcomers to stumble."
Ashley put on the belt without any trouble. Thomas took a little longer.
"This doesn’t make me feel better," he muttered while tightening the heavy buckle.
"It’s not designed to make you feel better," Angel said. "It’s designed to keep you from dying. By the way, I got you this hooded coat. Put it on."
"Huh? Why?"
"You’re in a place full of women, Thomas. It’s normal for them to feel comfortable here, and they might not like seeing a man arrive."
Thomas took the white, feminine-designed coat and put it on.
As soon as he took the first steps, the gale struck him head-on with such violence that he had to close one eye.
He raised both forearms to partially shield his face and kept walking with difficulty, leaning forward. The belt occasionally tugged against the metal bar, proving just how strong the current was.
Every step was difficult. The wind roared in his ears. The moisture pressed his clothes against his body.
After a few minutes, his legs began to grow heavy.
The path descended between rock, human-made stairs, and uneven natural areas, forcing him to maintain his balance while the gale constantly pushed him backward.
"Damn it..."
He tried to keep moving, but eventually reached a point where he simply could not. His feet stayed planted on the ground. The wind pressed against his chest like an invisible wall. Thomas clenched his teeth.
’I can’t...’
Then he felt a body approach from behind.
Ashley wrapped both arms around his waist in a firm, warm embrace, holding him tightly. Then she gently rested her chin on Thomas’s shoulder, partially shielding herself behind his back as well.
"I’m here to protect you," she said near his ear. "I’ll help you walk."
Thomas turned his head slightly, surprised. Despite the brutal wind, Ashley’s presence felt strangely steady.
"Thanks," he replied.
Ashley smiled. It was a smile he did not fully see, but he could hear it in her voice.
"It’s my pleasure."
And they began moving like that.
Ashley pushed steadily from behind, holding him by the waist and pressed against his back, while Thomas regained ground step by step.
Occasionally the gusts intensified and both of them braced themselves more firmly, but the double support allowed him to keep descending.
Angel walked several meters ahead of them. She did not turn around, yet she had heard the exchange perfectly.
A small smile appeared on her face as she moved with the ease of someone accustomed to that environment.
’Good Lord,’ she thought with amusement. ’I hope my son stops being an idiot and finally accepts her as his girlfriend.’
The descent continued for nearly twenty minutes.
Little by little, the path led them toward a lateral opening in the inner wall of the Abyss: a large cavern where the wind no longer struck them with such brutality.
As soon as they entered, the change was immediate. The roar was muffled. The humidity remained, but the air no longer pushed them.
Thomas released a long sigh of relief.
"Finally..."
Ashley loosened the embrace and gently let him go.
"See? You could do it."
"I could because you were basically carrying me."
"What an exaggeration."
Angel stopped several meters ahead and looked at them.
"This is our first safe zone. Come with me. My expedition group is inside one of the structures."
Inside the cavern were several human constructions integrated into the terrain, almost like small houses or base modules adapted to the rock.
Some had reinforced doors, small windows, external pipes, and identification plates. It was obvious that humanity had not only penetrated the Abyss—it had learned to colonize safe fragments of it.
Angel began walking toward one of the structures. Ashley followed behind her, but Thomas stopped her by grabbing her forearm.
"Wait a moment."
Ashley turned toward him.
"What is it?"
Thomas hesitated for a second.
"When we finish here... could I talk about something important with you?"
Ashley tilted her head slightly.
"Of course."
"It has a lot to do with you being a heroine... and with going back into the Abyss."
Ashley’s expression softened, though her characteristic confidence remained.
"You can always talk to me, Thomas. You don’t need to ask permission."
Then she took his hand naturally.
"Come on. Let’s catch up with your mother."
And she led him toward the building.
As they turned around the wall to see further inside, they found the place full of women walking through the area—specifically, heroines.
Some were sitting and chatting; others walked around in underwear, and others were completely naked. It was a sea of mostly naked women.
Both of them paused, surprised by the scene.
"Wow..." Ashley murmured. "Now I understand the danger your mother avoided."
No matter where he looked, there were only enormous breasts and impressive curves. All of them were fully developed adult women.
Thomas found himself staring and analyzing each body as they walked between them. Ashley took the opportunity to whisper:
"Make sure that hood doesn’t fall."
"Which one of the two?"
They looked at each other for a second, then began laughing quietly, doing their best not to make any noise.
When they entered the place where Angel was waiting, Thomas felt a slight change in temperature. The interior was austere but functional.
There was fixed white lighting, metal tables, spread-out maps, benches, water containers, emergency equipment, and a small improvised rest area. Several women occupied different parts of the room.
One of them, sitting near the entrance, looked up and frowned. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Who are those kids and what are they doing here?"
Angel answered without reacting.
"It’s fine if they listen. They’re with me."
Another woman farther inside put down what she was holding and spoke in a harsh tone.
"No one can listen to this conversation. This isn’t a school trip. Get them out right now."
The atmosphere tightened for a brief moment. Angel turned her face toward her. Her gaze sharpened instantly. When she spoke, her tone no longer had any softness.
"They’re staying. Be quiet."
It was said with such seriousness, such naked authority, that there was no room for argument.
The other woman fell silent, slightly hunched her back, and sat down again without protesting.
Ashley opened her eyes in silent admiration.
’Angel is incredible...’
Thomas, on the other hand, began observing all the women present much more carefully. Four of them, not counting his mother.
Five in total were distributed around the room. What he saw made his expression change. There were only triple-SSS ranks and UR rarity among them.
The entire room was filled with absurdly powerful women.
The pressure they emanated was not necessarily visible, but it was palpable. It was the kind of presence that made even the air seem heavier, as if each of them could destroy something enormous if they wished.
Thomas swallowed.
’What kind of group did my mother assemble...?’
Then his eyes inevitably fixed on Angel’s back.
And the old mystery returned.
Her information still appeared censored.
It did not matter how many times he tried to see it or how long he had noticed it. Her rarity and rank never appeared normally.
Instead, they were covered by a kind of interference: a strange glitch effect, as if the system itself could not process her correctly... or simply did not want to.
Thomas narrowed his eyes.
’I still don’t understand.’
He had always wondered about it.
And in a room full of monstrously powerful women, the only one who remained unreadable to him... was his own mother.
