Chapter 102: plans

"You are so fucked," Julius said.

It was much later, after the party was done, and the members met underground for a meeting.

Severin nearly couldn’t control himself because no matter how much he planned and calculated, it always ended with him dying in Sector Delta.

As the book reader, he knew just how dangerous the place was, and the worst thing was that the author didn’t explore it, but it was listed as one of the most dangerous locations in the world!

"Why is Darius doing something like that?" Derrick muttered.

"Maybe they don’t really want anyone to create a House and much less actually make progress with it?" Ethan suggested.

There was silence then, apart from the sound of eating that was coming from the corner where Ardent was tearing through a chicken.

"So what are we going to do?" Serena asked.

Everyone turned to Severin, who was sitting quietly.

But it was Instructor Ardent who spoke first. "What’s there to do? He better start preparing for it. The Academy has already made up its mind. They will throw him in if they have to and won’t even let him drop out at this moment."

Celia asked, "Have you been to the place before, Instructor Ardent?"

The man snorted and shook his head. "No. But one of my classmates then was given the ’privilege,’ and luckily for him, he came back alive. He’s a real monster though, very talented, and was immediately snatched up by the Emperor. He’s a general in the army now, the youngest and one of the most powerful people in the Empire."

"If you come out alive, you’ll be much stronger. But will you, Severin? You’re very weak, a year one. You won’t survive."

Strangely, nobody was angry when he said that.

They all just stared at Severin.

Severin did more calculations and arrived at one thing: he would simply do his best in making sure he returns alive. What else could he do?

Since he found himself in the world of the Zenith Hero, he had been trying his best to survive.

He would simply do the same again.

He nodded. "I have two days to prepare. Ethan will now be the Vice Leader of the House Chains, and Julius will be the sole administrator. I want the two of you to work together.

"But my mission for everyone else is this: get as strong as you can. No, you must all get stronger and focus on your Advancement. With Instructor Ardent here, there won’t be any problems.

"Use the resources as much as you can to advance and build yourself." Severin stood, and he mentally began to remove his mind from House Chains.

The House is a tool he couldn’t use; right then, it would only be a distraction.

"What are you going to do?" Derrick asked.

"I will prepare. I will make preparations for going into The Predator’s Trial, Sector Delta."

Severin went out of the House and to the library.

It was night, but the library was still open. It opens twenty-four seven for the students.

The library is divided into several floors, each one more expensive than the other, and with its contents getting more and more important.

As a House leader, Severin was given special priority, and he didn’t have to wait. He could tell the librarian what he wanted, and it would be brought to him in a private room.

"What? You want all the books relating to Sector Delta? But that’s a lot of books! It’s going to cost you a lot!"

"Don’t worry. I will pay for it. You can bring them all."

"Well, okay then."

And that was how Severin threw himself into knowing more about the place that was prepared for him to die. freewebnøvel.com

There wasn’t a single specific book about the place, and the people who entered and returned alive didn’t write down their experiences. What he learned was more of a cut-and-join that he could glean.

Sector Delta was known as a hellhole. It’s underground, and most of the failed experiments, and maybe some successful ones, were still there, moving around.

One thing that everyone in the place wanted to do was to get out of the place.

"Not everyone that enters dies, nor do they return. They are still down there, Etherion users who had cultivated their powers."

Severin read a lot of the books. He forgot about time, and more books kept piling up. He wasn’t satisfied with what he was seeing; he needed more answers.

Something solid.

Why were the people there unable to leave? What’s stopping them? Is the Academy intentionally trapping them down there?

He didn’t get the answers in the books.

So he left the library after he told them he would be returning later. It was already afternoon, and he hadn’t slept a wink. He went to the House to bathe and refresh, and then he wrote down the supplies he would need for Julius.

Then he went back to the library.

The librarian that attended to him earlier was waiting, and his eyes lit up when he saw Severin. "You’re here! I’ve been waiting for you since. Come, we have something for you."

"Something?" Severin asked.

"Yes. The Head Librarian wanted to see you. Well, one of the Head Librarians anyway," when he saw Severin hesitating, he added, "It’s about what you were searching for, Sector Delta."

Severin followed him immediately, and he led him down around the library through a place that’s used by the staff. "The library is controlled by three Head Librarians, all doing different work. The one we are about to meet is responsible for the preservation of the books and equipment here."

"She noticed my interest in Sector Delta and wanted to know why. Imagine my surprise when I searched about you and saw that you are Severin Reignhart! The one given The Predator’s Trial!"

The man finally stopped talking when they reached a set of doors. "We are here!"
