System Discord-Chapter 41: SysDi : Willpower, Intellect and Perseverance 3
Chapter 41: SysDi 41: Willpower, Intellect and Perseverance 3
If there is a sapling here, it means that someone was able to gather some parts of the main tree of life. Even if the tree is still lost, or believed to be lost, at least there is a way to grow a new tree with the saplings.
The question quickly becomes how would Evan be able to grow the tree while also keeping it hidden.
He’s getting the sapling from this cave because it doesn’t have the space it needs for it to grow. Not to mention that it can be used as a material, something he didn’t know until Iva mentioned it.
Didn’t change the fact that the sapling of life is his now. But he needs to find more about the tree of life soon.
Evan stretched his limbs a little bit. "Do you have any idea why its here?"
"Not really. I don’t have any clue." Iva replies. "Users before you never saw the tree of life and I haven’t either."
Evan sighs. "Fair enough. Looks like it’s mine until I found out a way to make it grow and make more saplings."
Remembering that there is no other way at the end of the corridor, Evan turns around to return to where he came from. The moment he goes back to he same area facing the forked paths, Iva bounced twice.
"If you’re going to the other corridor, you should unsummon me." Iva the slime says, bouncing even more as if trying to catch Evan’s attention.
Evan looks at the slime with narrowed eyes. "Why? Is there a reason why you want to be unsummoned?"
Iva is silent for a bit. "Trust me, you’ll be better off with me unsummoned than out here."
There’s something suspicious about how Iva says it, but Evan just shrugs. "Fine, I’ll unsummon you. If things go really bad, you’re going to be summoned right back out."
"Sure." Iva sounded reluctant but resigned.
"Unsummon pet Iva."
Evan watched as a faint light envelops Iva the slime for a few minutes before fading away from vision.
He has no idea why Iva wants to be unsummoned so badly, but he gave in. There’s always a reason why things are how they are. Whatever Iva’s reason was for wanting to be back in, he’ll find out soon enough...
Which didn’t take too long.
The moment Evan entered the final corridor from the forked path, it just went dark. It reminded him of the feeling when he called the Simulation Zone with Iva’s name right after. Even the path from where he came from is dark. It was immediately disorienting.
"Iva?" He calls out. "Which way did I come from in? Do you remember?"
Iva’s sigh echoes in his brain. ’I believe it’s from behind you.’
Evan’s hums a little at that. "Are you sure?"
’Yeah. At least 90% sure.’ Was Iva’s reply.
Evan took a step forward, hands and arms outstretched at the sides so he wouldn’t fall out of balance. The walls were still there after all, he can feel it. It was just way too dark. There is nothing else that he could see.
After a couple more steps, Evan felt weird. It was like his body is a little heavier than it usually was. Confused, he took his time as he walked forwards.
The more he walks, the heavier his steps are. He squints his eyes and tried looking at the distance. There’s nothing on there. No light or even any tiny speck or clue of the end of the dark corridor in sight.
’30 minutes.’ Iva reminds him.
"Already?" Evan asked, feeling a sweat fall down from his forehead and down his neck. "Really?"
Iva hums. ’I count to remind you every time. I’m more accurate than the current clocks you all use.’ It sounded a little offended at Evan’s question.
That tone made Evan laugh a little. "I didn’t mean anything by it. It’s just... There seems to be no ending in sight for this one." He says.
Even as he thought so, he kept walking anyway. He can feel the wall on his side so he knows where he’s facing.
Not including the fact that his steps were heavier as he continues his way.
"I can’t even tell if I’m halfway there or still so far away." He mutters to himself.
Before taking another step, he hears Iva humming in his head again. ’30 minutes!’
Evan stopped walking. "30 minutes? Again? I’m not even walking that much. Are you sure?"
’Mhm! Another 30 minutes have passed. I counted.’ Iva confirms.
Evan took a deep breath and nodded his head. He still has two more usage of the Simulation Zone at the moment. It can’t hurt if he tries and use one of them at this instance. He just wants to know if he is being taken in a loop or if there is anything weird in it.
"Okay. Let me try something then. Simulation Zone."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a loud sound of what felt like countless warnings can be heard with panels popping up in front of him.

Evan’s eyes tried to follow each and every warning pings he had just gotten. Some of them disappeared almost immediately, while other seemed to be warnings that were supposed to have appeared earlier instead of just now.
There are countless other warnings but only a few of them were understandable enough that Evan could read the contents. He has no idea what’s happening. Some of the warnings seemed to have been repeated. What is the interference? Why is his hit points low?
