Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 426: The Most Beautiful
"In my eyes, you’ll always be the most beautiful."
Stunned for a moment, what do you mean in your eyes, does that mean I’m ugly?
A certain someone looked angry and pinched the handsome face that was so close: "I’ll give you one more chance."
The man raised an eyebrow, his lips slightly curled, and took advantage of the moment to peck a kiss.
"What are you doing, you annoying guy." Covering her mouth, Moira Young was both angry and embarrassed, "I tell you, we’re not back together yet, so don’t get all touchy."
Putting the towel on the table, Julian Sinclair said seriously, "What do I have to do for us to reconcile?"
Moira Young’s lips drooped slightly, and a silent aura suddenly spread between them. Julian Sinclair held the woman’s hand that was on the bed, gripping it tightly, waiting for her to speak.
A slight struggle, then someone scratched her palm, Moira Young stopped moving, and after a moment, looked directly into the man’s eyes, saying, "I want to hear you say it."
"Alright." The deep voice, like a cello, resonated close to their ears, slightly easing the atmosphere.
Julian Sinclair began speaking, recounting Adrian Grant’s previous explanation, including some of the original circumstances at the time, detailing everything.
Outside the window, the cold wind rose, and the warm sun was halfway down.
"Then how do you explain what you said before?" Moira Young spoke, recalling the scene vividly.
Julian Sinclair understood what Moira Young meant, feeling a slight pull at his heart, as if flesh were being torn apart.
"That wasn’t real, it was just to make you leave."
Tears circled, dropping one by one onto Julian Sinclair’s hand.
"I don’t want to hear words like that again."
"Alright." His fingertips trembled, and the man leaned in, gently kissing away the tears on her face, whispering, "Sweetheart, don’t cry, okay?"
Moira Young pouted, not dodging, and curled into the man’s embrace, adding a cautious reminder: "No matter when or what happens, you have to discuss it with me, I’m not a child anymore, you can’t treat me like one again."
Feeling that lying down lacked authority, she straightened up, continuing earnestly: "Julian Sinclair, I don’t want to hide behind you, I don’t always want to wait for you to rescue me, I don’t want to just cry when you’re in trouble. Over our time apart, I’ve been growing continuously, I want to be strong, I want to stand by your side, and I want to protect you. Julian Sinclair, I want to stand side by side with you and move forward together."
In his heart, it felt like a warm current had swept through, filling the fragmented places, the cold aura around him seemed wrapped in warm fragrance. The man smiled, lightly cupping the woman’s chin, his brows relaxed, and he kissed her.
"Mmm, no...I’m so ugly, you...haven’t answered me yet." The woman couldn’t evade in time, and resisted, whimpering.
This is my answer.
Whether you want to stand beside me or behind me, I will protect you with my life.
Outside the window, white clouds brought in a red glow, hiding something shy.
"Where’s Adrian?"
Moira Young, acting coy, had Julian Sinclair call the doctor for a check-up again. After being cleared for discharge, they were on their way home in a taxi when they thought of Adrian Grant.
"He went back first."
Moira Young nodded: "Later, I need to properly thank Adrian. He took care of me a lot during this time."
"As he should," Julian Sinclair responded lightly.
Moira Young, amused, nestled into the man’s arms.
In the small apartment kitchen, the fragrant smell of food wafted. A man grabbing a secret bite felt a chill and rubbed his arms, glanced at the warm air in the living room, went over to touch it, found it warm, and turned back to sneak more food, puzzled.
After a while, the two arrived downstairs, and as they went upstairs, they coincidentally met Mrs. Miller and the housekeeper about to ring the doorbell. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Moira Young greeted them in surprise, the four exchanged a few pleasantries, during which Mrs. Miller looked at Moira Young’s wounds and worriedly muttered her concern.
"You’re back, oh finally, we can eat," Adrian Grant muttered, quickly running over to open the door. Seeing the two outside, he was a bit surprised, "Mrs. Miller, what brings you here?"
Mrs. Miller smiled, "It’s New Year, it’s just the two of us, you guys aren’t going back, where else would we go?"
"Hahaha, true, Julian must have messaged you, come in, come in."
With an air of owning the place, Moira Young rolled her eyes at Adrian, and once Julian Sinclair changed his shoes, she pulled him toward the bedroom: "Mrs. Miller, make yourself at home, I’ll take him to change clothes."
"Go on, go on," Mrs. Miller waved her hand, then looked at the table, "Oh dear, the dishes aren’t good enough, I’ll make something more."
Adrian Grant nodded in agreement, unable to resist the food Mrs. Miller cooked, which was just extraordinary.
Once they entered the room, the man immediately embraced her, pressing her against the wall.
"What are you doing, hurry and get up, I still need to go down," Moira Young playfully scolded, tapping the man’s shoulders.
"When did you prepare this?" The man didn’t move his body, leaned closer, speaking with breath caressing Moira Young’s ear, instantly bringing a blush to her cheeks, enticing without realizing.
Moira Young’s pearly eyes shifted, shyly pushing the man away, mumbling, "It was when we left, just picked it up on the way."
"Hmm." The man’s voice rose slightly, chuckling softly, he kissed the woman’s vivid ear, then traced down to her blush-colored neck.
The woman giggled: "Stop it, it tickles." She curled her neck, wanting to escape, but was held back, and their lips met deeply.
The air filled with a hint of intimacy and desire.
Adrian Grant noticed the dishes were ready, yet the two hadn’t come down. With a smirk, he started heading upstairs.
"Moira, it’s time to eat." Knocked on the door while putting his ear against it.
Unexpectedly, the door opened and nearly made him fall into Julian Sinclair. Rubbing his head, his long, narrow eyes carried a soft smile, "Oh, finally willing to come out."
Julian Sinclair gave him a cold glance, holding Moira Young’s hand as they headed downstairs.
Adrian Grant observed, following behind a blushing, pink-lipped Moira Young, teased: "Moira, what did you eat to look this good?"
Moira Young felt embarrassed and annoyed, lowering her head, she rolled her eyes, darn you, Adrian, you eternal bachelor.
Julian Sinclair turned his head slightly, coldly glaring at the man beside him. As Adrian Grant passed Julian, feeling the chill encroaching, he laughed, "You two carry on, I’ll go down first." With that, he quickly ran downstairs.
Dang it, during the New Year, not only do I have to eat lemons, but I also have to bear the cold.
The dining table, not too big, not too small, fit just right for five people.
Moira Young looked around happily and raised her glass: "Let’s have a toast, Happy New Year everyone."
The few people glanced at each other, raised their glasses, exchanged auspicious words, and after everyone put down their glasses, Moira Young spoke again.
"I’m so happy today, this is my first New Year celebrating out. Initially, I thought I’d be alone, even though some unhappy things happened in between, the outcome is good, so I’m very happy. Mrs. Miller, Mr. Housekeeper, thank you for coming to see me." Smiling, she raised her glass to the two and drank it in one go.
