Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 422: Decision
Julian Sinclair’s throat was very bitter as he hugged the agitated Moira Young, whose eyes were slightly red, and said, "Little girl, don’t be angry, take a deep breath."
Moira Young pushed the man away, angrily kicked him again with full force, "Take a deep breath my ass, Julian Sinclair, you’re a bastard, get out of here."
Julian Sinclair was pushed right against the doorframe, his leg took another heavy blow, truly unsure whether to soothe his back or rub his leg.
Moira Young didn’t give Julian Sinclair a chance to react, directly pushing him towards the outside.
Adrian Grant was downstairs, leisurely directing the maids to do their work while sipping freshly brewed coffee, looking at the scenery outside.
Originally planning to sneak upstairs to listen to how the conversation was going, he was startled by a flurry of noise upstairs, and with wide eyes murmured, "Julian Sinclair sure lives up to his name, causing such a fuss right upon his return."
Clearing his throat, he said to the maids who were looking up towards the commotion, "Just focus on your work, mind your own business."
The maids quickly looked down, exchanged glances, and continued their tasks.
After a while, Moira Young’s hysterical voice came crashing down, startling Adrian Grant and causing him to tremble slightly, spilling a few drops of his coffee.
He quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe off the spill while running up the stairs, only to see Moira Young pushing Julian Sinclair out, his expression cold, his feet rooted to the spot.
He rolled his eyes internally, thinking Julian Sinclair’s mind must be muddled by the wind back home, and stepped forward to intervene, saying, "What are you two doing, causing a scene, after finally meeting again." With that, he grabbed Moira Young’s wrist.
"Look, Moira, your hand’s all red, Julian Sinclair, aren’t you a bastard."
Moira Young felt she had an ally, and said to the emotionless Julian Sinclair standing outside the door, "Please leave my house immediately, Adrian will see to your return."
"Hey, hey, hey, why drag me into this, I didn’t do anything." Adrian Grant raised his hand in exasperation.
Moira Young couldn’t be bothered to respond, turned around intending to close the door, but Adrian Grant quickly blocked it.
"Adrian, what are you doing."
Adrian Grant chuckled, secretly gestured to Julian Sinclair behind his back as he stepped inside the room.
Only then did Julian Sinclair release his tension, leaning wearily against the wall, moving his leg slightly with a wince, looking at the tightly closed door, remembering what Moira Young had just said, feeling an overwhelming heaviness in his heart.
It seems this time, the little one won’t be easily coaxed, what to do, Julian Sinclair, you’re done for.
With a bitter smile, he slowly straightened up, limping down the stairs to the fridge to find an ice pack for his leg.
Inside, Adrian Grant looked at Moira Young, who was lying on the bed in anger, sighed, and went to the small living room to make a cup of hot cocoa.
"Here, you’ve been upset for a while, have a cup of your favorite hot cocoa."
Moira Young put the blanket over her head, mumbling, "I don’t want it, Adrian, you can leave now."
Adrian Grant shrugged, inwardly blaming Julian Sinclair with all his might, and continued, "Then let’s talk."
Moira Young remained silent, pouting, feeling there was nothing worthwhile to discuss with Adrian Grant, suspecting the two were just playing a duet as they had before, as if she would be foolish enough to fall for it again, as if she was still the naive girl who was easy to deceive.
Seeing she wouldn’t speak, Adrian Grant walked over, sat by the edge of the bed, and tugged at Moira Young’s blanket, "Moira."
Moira Young stubbornly held on, turned around, and pressed down on the corner of the blanket.
Adrian Grant couldn’t help but laugh, "You remind me of when you used to bicker with Julian Sinclair, throwing little tantrums just like this."
Moira Young jumped up angrily, retorting loudly, "No, it’s not like that, Adrian, don’t lump me together with him. You don’t remember? Are you suffering from memory loss like Julian Sinclair? We’ve broken up."
"Then why did you go to the Sinclair home in Vesperia?" Adrian Grant asked calmly.
Moira Young opened her mouth, then let out a cold laugh, "To utterly give up on him."
Adrian Grant was taken aback, he wanted Moira Young to recall past events, but chose poorly, inwardly thinking, Julian Sinclair, if you can’t win her back, don’t blame me, it’s not my fault.
"Alright, alright, let’s not talk about it, let me tell you why you both..."
Moira Young sensed what Adrian Grant was about to say and immediately covered her ears, lying back down, "I’m not listening, not listening, Adrian, if you have nothing else, just go home for New Year."
Adrian Grant paid no mind, stood up, walked to the nearby table, took a sip of the hot cocoa he made for himself earlier, and said to himself, "Your Uncle only separated you and Julian as a temporary measure, to protect you."
Moira Young kept her ears covered tightly, even wrapping her head with the blanket, but still couldn’t block out Adrian Grant’s voice slowly coming through.
"Back then, Uncle Sinclair found out about you and Julian, was completely against it, and to make you two separate, directly gave Julian an ultimatum. If you two stayed together, he wouldn’t hesitate to take action against you, by any means necessary." He paused, then continued.
"You know, Julian couldn’t let anyone hurt you, even if it was his own father, so he made that choice at the time. Plus, apart from using you as leverage, Uncle Sinclair also said if you appeared again, there was no way the successor position would go to Julian." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Moira Young gritted her teeth, tears streaming down her temples and soaking the blanket.
Leaning against the wall, looking out the bedroom window, Adrian Grant continued with a hint of sadness, "Julian, he really had it tough, all these years, it was the first time I saw him drink himself into a stupor at a bar, right after you two broke up, only to see him up early for work the next day. Since then, according to his assistant, he hasn’t had a good night’s sleep."
"Moira, you’re irreplaceable in Julian’s heart, if it weren’t so, he wouldn’t have rushed here after hearing you’d be spending the festival alone, cutting short business by two days, even called me, worried you’d be upset seeing him alone."
Adrian Grant said this, furrowing his brow in pain, he truly didn’t know what else to say, he couldn’t, for real reasons couldn’t tell Moira Young, if he did, Julian would probably kill him, and the two of them definitely wouldn’t make it then, say something else, then perhaps sell Julian’s pitiful state some more. Though Julian truly was miserable, he himself was at his wit’s end, if Moira Young continued to remain silent under the blanket, he’d have to start talking nonsense.
Rolling his eyes at the ceiling, he tugged at the corner of Moira Young’s blanket once more, "Moira, you have to believe in Julian, think about it, how could your Uncle, who cherished you since childhood, suddenly leave without a reason? There must be unspeakable difficulties, as you grow up, you can’t do whatever you want like a child, even more so for him being in the Sinclair family, even I face difficult choices at times." Remembering something, Adrian Grant grimaced wryly.
