Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 41: Danger Encountered
"I’ll definitely be back by midnight, don’t worry!" Moira Young said, fleeing, the sound of her small heels clicking as she ran out.
Mrs. Miller hurried to get a thin cloak, but when she returned, there was no sign of her.
Because the Sinclair family estate was so large, she was used to leaving directly by car, and now walking out step by step was a bit strenuous.
Carter Porter arrived early and headed straight to The Pantheon Bar after picking her up.
All thirty people in their class were there, except for two who had transferred, which made twenty-eight people.
"Shouldn’t we invite Thea Thorne and Heath Sterling? After all, they were our classmates for a year too." Someone counted the people and then asked everyone’s opinion.
"Heath took a year off two years ago and is now a grade below us; wouldn’t it be awkward to call him?"
"We’re already here and only thought of not inviting those two now. Knowing Thea’s princess-like attitude, she probably wouldn’t come anyway, so let’s just forget it."
"Exactly, let’s just forget it."
Moira Young listened from the side, and her good mood suddenly sank. She couldn’t bear to hear Heath’s name; just hearing it seemed to pierce a deep nerve in her heart, like a switch. The events from two years ago started replaying endlessly.
"Are you okay?" Carter Porter handed Moira Young a glass of juice, "I ordered you a juice."
Moira Young looked down with a bitter smile. In three seconds, she lifted her head and was back to normal.
"Carter! Let’s hit the dance floor?" Some classmates ran over to drag Carter away, "Moira Young, you come too. All the girls from our class are going; don’t be the odd one out!"
Moira Young’s eyes tensed, her nerves tightened, and she almost spilled the juice in her hand.
It was her first time at a bar, let alone going to the dance floor. She didn’t understand these things at all.
But unable to resist her classmates tugging her along, she was eventually dragged into the dance floor. However, as soon as they brought her in, those people disappeared.
The dance floor was crowded, like a machine with everyone wearing expressions of extreme enjoyment. Everyone’s movements were similar.
Moira Young felt some fear. From the bottom of her heart, she didn’t want to be part of this. She furrowed her brows and sighed, trying to find a way out as quickly as possible.
Unexpectedly, someone beside her, lost in the moment, accidentally bumped into her, causing her to lose her balance and bump into another man, stepping on his foot.
Moira Young, in a panic, immediately apologized: "I’m sorry!"
The man stopped his movements, looked at Moira Young, and his eyes lit up. This bar was filled with beauties, but one as fresh and alluring as her was a first.
"You bumped into me, and ’sorry’ is enough? You hurt my foot, shouldn’t you give it a rub?" His greasy words reached Moira Young’s ears.
Moira Young initially felt it was right to apologize since she had indeed stepped on someone’s foot. In her mind, the other person would understand, knowing she was bumped, and accept her apology with an ’it’s okay.’
However, the man before her revealed an ugly, filthy side, which instantly erased Moira Young’s sense of apology. She turned to leave, not wanting to waste any words.
"Where do you think you’re going? This isn’t over yet!" The man, seeing this, immediately rushed to grab Moira Young’s arm, unwilling to let this swan escape.
"Let go of me!" Moira Young never liked being touched, especially not by a repulsive, filthy stranger! She suddenly pulled her arm away from the man’s grip, and her once tranquil eyes turned cold and wary, with a hint of Julian Sinclair’s demeanor.
"Let go of you? You’re coming to my bed tonight whether you like it or not!" The vibrant lights shone on the man’s face, greasy and repulsive, with a hideous expression.
Moira Young was no longer a child. Even living under Julian Sinclair’s protection, she wouldn’t run away from trouble. Without Julian, she knew she needed to learn self-defense.
She glanced around with her peripheral vision, ready to dash into the crowd. The more people, the easier it was to shake him off.
"Don’t go too far, being bumped and stepped on is a common thing in crowded places like this!" Someone nearby couldn’t stand it, giving a sideways glance.
"You come here!" The man completely ignored the bystanders, still trying to grab Moira Young.
Just when Moira was about to run, a figure suddenly burst out from the crowd beside her, without hesitation, landing a solid punch on the man, followed by a swift kick.
The man instantly clutched his stomach and face, spitting a mouthful of blood onto the ground. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Moira Young looked at the figure turned away from her. With an air of nonchalance, his hands in his pockets and head tilted, he had the demeanor of a ruffian yet was so strikingly attractive one couldn’t look away.
Just his back alone sent a shiver through Moira Young.
She knew this person.
