Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Awakening

Although Julian Sinclair has always known that adopting Moira Young was meant to deal with Arthur Whitman, he never investigated Moira Young’s background, only knowing her father is Arthur Whitman, but having no knowledge about her mother.

Adrian Grant thought more about it and felt something wasn’t right: "You say Moira looks so much like Aiden Webb, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they are siblings."

With every sentence he spoke, Julian Sinclair’s expression grew darker.

At the end, Adrian Grant whispered in his ear: "Julian, if Moira truly has a blood relationship with Aiden, she mustn’t recognize her ancestry. If she’s not favored in her maternal family, that’s fine, but if she is favored, she will be difficult to deal with."

Julian Sinclair didn’t speak, but his face became increasingly grim.

"Julian, are you listening at all?" Adrian Grant furrowed his brow.

"Don’t say anymore; I know what needs to be done." Julian Sinclair closed his eyes a bit impatiently, seemingly unwilling to discuss the topic with Adrian Grant.

Seeing his resistance, Adrian Grant’s expression also became heavy: "Julian, I know you’re hesitant, maybe we should..."

"I told you not to say another word!" Julian Sinclair shouted at Adrian Grant with all his strength, his slender eyes filled with a threatening air.

"Alright, I won’t say anymore." Adrian Grant knew Julian Sinclair wouldn’t listen.

He turned and walked away, following Julian Sinclair’s orders to call an assistant to investigate Aiden Webb’s identity.

From afar, he watched Julian Sinclair sitting alone in a wheelchair, so solitary, so helpless.

From the start, he had continuously advised him not to get involved, but in the end, he still...

If things really reached that point, could he truly bear to push Moira Young away?

Adrian Grant shook his head in resignation; he had said all he could say, whether Julian would listen was up to him.

After a prolonged medical treatment, the operating room lights went out once more.

Julian Sinclair stared blankly at the doors of the operating room, seeing a white corner appear, and if his hands weren’t powerless, he could have rushed over immediately.

Adrian Grant discerned his thoughts, pushing him toward the entrance.

"How is she?" He couldn’t help but ask.

The doctor removed his mask, appearing relaxed: "Mr. Sinclair, you can rest assured, Miss Young is out of life-threatening danger. With proper care, she can fully recover in two months."

Julian Sinclair let out a huge sigh of relief, and Adrian Grant nodded hurriedly: "That’s good, that’s good."

"It’s just..."

Those two words from the doctor made their hearts instantly tighten, especially Julian Sinclair, whose handsome face immediately changed colors.

"Just what?" Adrian Grant asked.

Seeing their tension, the doctor smiled again: "Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. Although Miss Young is out of danger, the scars on her body won’t fade quickly."

"How long?" Julian Sinclair furrowed his brows.

"According to a normal recovery timeline, at least half a year." The doctor sighed, "Her body was burned by explosion airwaves; although the burns weren’t severe, they are widespread, slowing down the recovery."

Adrian Grant was frightened and quickly asked, "She’s a young girl; she absolutely can’t have scars. Is there any other solution?"

"Plastic surgery." The doctor shrugged, "There’s no better option beyond that."

"How can that be accepted?" Adrian Grant replied immediately, not even waiting for Julian Sinclair to speak, "She definitely can’t accept plastic surgery."

The doctor was quite helpless: "If she doesn’t accept plastic surgery, then the best scar removal products and procedures will have to be used, but the process may take longer. Of course, it also depends on her own recovery situation before making further plans."

Julian Sinclair nodded: "Thank you."

"Not at all, not at all, it’s my duty." The doctor dared not accept Julian Sinclair’s thanks; it would be too much for him.

Moira Young was subsequently transported to a ward and, for convenience in care, naturally shared the same room as Julian Sinclair.

As for Aiden Webb, weakened by blood loss, he was also sent to a ward next door.

The drama’s lead actors were both hospitalized, meaning the television series had to be put on hold.

Upon learning of Moira Young and Julian Sinclair’s car accident, the director and cast came to visit. However, since Moira Young was still unconscious, everyone was kept outside.

Moira Young slept for a full three days before slowly waking up.

Three mornings later, Moira Young finally opened her clear, water-like eyes.

Perhaps having slept too long, she felt weak all over. Just as she wanted to stretch, she was greeted by blinding whiteness.

She furrowed her brows and softly whimpered: "Hmm..."

"Moira, you’re awake?" Hearing the sound, Adrian Grant quickly put down the apple in his hand and dashed to Moira Young’s bedside.

"Water." Moira Young croaked, struggling to speak.

Adrian Grant hurriedly poured a glass of warm water and brought it to Moira Young’s lips. He laughed: "Little Moira, you’re finally awake. If you hadn’t, Julian might have gone mad."

Moira Young’s eyes changed immediately, her face turned anxious, and she frowned: "Where’s Uncle? How is Uncle?"

She vividly remembered Julian Sinclair being blown away in the explosion; was he alright?

"Don’t worry, his injuries aren’t as bad as yours. You’re fine, how could anything happen to him?" Adrian Grant gently wiped the water from her lips, patiently explaining.

When she learned that Julian Sinclair was alright, Moira Young breathed a sigh of relief and tried to get out of bed.

"What’s wrong?" Adrian Grant saw her moving and couldn’t understand the reason, "Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"

"I want to see Uncle." Moira Young could hardly wait to see Julian Sinclair; unless she saw him safe with her own eyes, she wouldn’t feel at ease.

Adrian Grant pressed her back onto the bed, warning softly: "You’re wrapped up like a mummy all over. And yet, you still have the mood to care about him? You should care more about yourself; if you end up with scar, who would dare watch your acting then?"

"Scar?" Moira Young froze for a moment and lowered her head to look at her body.

At the moment, as Adrian Grant said, she was wrapped up like a mummy, bandages everywhere, even her head had only her face exposed.

This look was as funny as it could be, and moving was far from convenient.

She waved her hand in slight panic: "Brother Adrian, I haven’t become disfigured, have I?"

"Not that serious, but the recovery might be a bit slow; you likely won’t be able to go back to the set for a while." Adrian Grant looked at her sympathetically, unsure if she’d accept this blow.

"How long?" Moira Young swallowed, mentally prepared.

"The doctor said about half a year to fully fade. Of course, if your recovery goes well and you obediently follow treatment, the crust would naturally fall off, and scar cream would quickly help." Adrian Grant smiled, signaling Moira Young not to worry.
