Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Cast Change

Oh no!

Last night she was out cold and forgot her bag in the private room.

With no other choice, Moira Young had to ask a passerby for help. Luckily, the passerby was her fan, and upon hearing she needed to borrow a phone for a call, they agreed without hesitation.

She thanked them and then dialed her own phone number.

Unexpectedly, the call really connected, and Joe’s confused voice came from the other end, "Hello?"

"Joe?" Moira Young let out a big sigh of relief, "Do you have my phone?"

"Moira? You finally called. I was worried sick. Where did you go last night?" As soon as Joe heard Moira Young’s voice, he asked anxiously.

Moira Young calmed herself and said, "Where are you now? I’ll come to find you."

"At the hotel."

"I’ll be right back."

Without waiting for Joe’s reaction, Moira Young hung up the phone and returned the mobile to her little fan.

Of course, the little fan wasn’t going to let her go so easily, insisting on taking several pictures before letting her leave.

Moira Young walked a few steps further, but because she was wearing high heels, she couldn’t walk fast and had to hail a cab.

When she arrived at the hotel, Joe was there looking eager and waiting at the entrance.

As soon as he saw Moira Young, he rushed over joyfully, "Moira, you finally came back. I was so worried I could die."

"First, the cab fare." Moira Young didn’t have any money on her, so she indicated for Joe to pay the fare first.

Joe nodded foolishly, quickly ran up to pay the cab fare, and returned to Moira Young’s side, whispering, "You have no idea how crazy the director went looking for you this morning. The whole crew was complaining."

"Where’s the director? I’ll go explain." Moira Young furrowed her brows.

The director’s temper wasn’t great to begin with, and her unexcused absence today certainly didn’t help.

As she spoke, Moira Young intended to head to the set, but Joe chuckled and said, "Moira, you don’t need to find the director. He’s given you a leave."

"What do you mean?" Moira Young looked puzzled.

"The whole crew was unhappy about your disappearance this morning, but for some reason, the director received a phone call later and then said you had a leave today, to resume shooting tomorrow."

At this point, Moira Young had almost figured out the situation.

It seemed Uncle had called the director early on, otherwise, given the director’s personality, letting such a big mistake pass wouldn’t happen.

Regardless, she decided to explain personally to the director.

Joe said that because of her absence today, the crew didn’t shoot much, and now the director wasn’t on set but resting at the hotel.

Moira Young arrived at the director’s door, about to knock, when the door opened from the inside.

Seeing it was the director, she said apologetically, "Director, it’s entirely my fault for being absent without notice today. I hope I didn’t delay the production..."

"Moira, you drinking too much last night is also my fault. I knew you can’t hold your liquor, yet I kept making you drink. I was wrong."

Seeing Moira Young, the director immediately put on a smile, and his attitude was so friendly it was almost scary.

Moira Young curled her lips and swallowed back the words she had yet to say.

Seeing the director’s demeanor, Uncle must have given him quite a bit of a benefit, otherwise his attitude wouldn’t have changed so much.

"You should go rest. Tomorrow you need to properly rehearse your scenes with the male lead." The director chuckled at Moira Young.

She slightly furrowed her brows, thinking about Sean Dunn and her face immediately sunk, her heart turning sour.

She wanted to speak, but the director looked at her earnestly, "I also wonder if the new male lead will get along with you."

New male lead? Moira Young rubbed her nose in confusion, "Why suddenly change the male lead?"

"Sean Dunn’s company called, saying he caught the same infectious disease as Vivi and couldn’t shoot." The director sighed, "You don’t need to worry about that. Just rest up and prepare for tomorrow’s shoot."

"Alright."

Moira Young returned to the hotel thinking about what the director said, feeling suddenly relieved.

At least with the male lead change, she wouldn’t have to face Sean Dunn’s hypocritical facade anymore.

She used to think he was a good man, but you really can’t judge a book by its cover.

Joe was quite disappointed by Sean Dunn’s leaving, her face turned pale worrying over her idol who suddenly fell ill.

Moira Young didn’t want to burst her sweet bubble, so she let her be.

Night.

As night fell, Moira Young was still holed up in her room reading the script.

Just about to ask Joe to make her a cup of coffee, she saw Joe walking over grinning, "Moira, there’s a party with the crew tonight welcoming the new male lead’s arrival. The director wants you to come."

Thinking about how last night’s party nearly led to her being humiliated, Moira Young instinctively refused, "I won’t go. Help me turn it down."

"Moira, you should go. The director wants you to meet the new male lead first, so you can continue shooting smoothly." Joe looked at Moira Young with shining eyes, "Aren’t you curious who the new male lead is?"

To be honest, Moira Young wasn’t curious, but seeing Joe’s enthusiasm couldn’t help but ask, "Who is it?"

"It’s Aiden Webb! Aiden Webb!!!" Joe was so excited she nearly screamed, that it was Aiden Webb! A mega star even bigger than Sean Dunn.

Hearing Aiden Webb’s name, Moira Young’s eyes showed some changes. She naturally knew who he was.

Even before entering this industry, she had heard of Aiden Webb’s fame—a giant in film, television, and music. Supposedly his fees are astoundingly high, never less than fifty million per appearance.

But with that kind of net worth, why would he agree to this shoot?

Moira Young flipped the script, somewhat puzzled, "Did you hear it wrong? With his fees, we simply couldn’t afford him for this project."

"I don’t know if it’s true. Why don’t we go check it out?" Joe chuckled.

Since discovering Moira Young was quite easygoing, Joe had become more bold, but these were minor things that Moira Young never worried about.

Finally, under Joe’s strong persuasion, Moira Young had no choice but to nod in agreement.

She randomly picked a conservative long dress and followed Joe out because she had a dedicated business car and didn’t ride with the crew.

Arriving at the hotel the director mentioned, she opened the private room door to find it filled to capacity, Moira Young barely perceptibly frowned.

She sat at the place the director reserved for her, watching everyone puffing away, feeling suffocated inside.

Just after she sat down, the door of the private room was pushed open again, revealing an outrageously handsome face.

Aiden Webb.

It really was him.

Aiden Webb briefly swept his eyes over everyone present, expressionlessly sitting beside Moira Young.
