Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 231: The Little Shop
The store clerk was about to scan the items when Moira Young stopped her, "Sorry, I wanted to ask, can I buy by the box?"
The clerk didn’t understand, "What?"
"I mean, I want a box of each type of pen," Moira Young explained.
"Every kind here?" The clerk looked at the pens Moira Young had brought over, all of which were quite expensive—the kind students usually think twice about purchasing even a single one.
"Yes, if possible, could you get me a box of each? I’ll take another look at the notebooks," Moira Young wanted to confirm if she could buy this many.
The clerk stared blankly at Moira Young, aware that the art academy had many talents, but it was still the first time seeing someone buy such expensive pens by the box.
"I’ll have to check the inventory for that," the clerk scratched her head and began checking the inventory on the computer.
Moira Young continued to look at the notebooks, but since this was near an art academy, not an elementary school, there weren’t any suitable notebooks for elementary students.
She browsed around and chose a notebook with mostly blank pages, then went to pick out a set of oil pastels.
However, the beautifully packaged oil pastels only had one set of 36 colors left. Just as Moira Young’s hand reached for the box, suddenly another hand pressed down on it.
Moira Young turned her head, about to say she saw it first, but then realized the girl in front of her was none other than Thea Thorne.
Next to her was a little girl about seven or eight years old.
Thea Thorne, looking annoyed, took the only set of oil pastels and placed them in the little girl’s hands.
"Sister, this pretty sister saw it first," the little girl was about to hand the oil pastels to Moira Young when Thea Thorne snatched it back.
"You hold onto it; it’s yours," Thea Thorne said to the little girl.
The little girl remained silent, holding it obediently.
Thea Thorne turned to Moira Young, "What are you doing here?"
"Buying some things," Moira Young glanced at her indifferently. Thea Thorne was an only child, and this girl called her sister, so she should be a cousin.
"A big star coming to such a small store to buy things? How down-to-earth," Thea Thorne said sarcastically.
"Is that pretty sister a star?" The little girl looked curiously at Thea Thorne, "No wonder she looks so familiar."
"What do you know, kid?" Thea Thorne was a bit upset and held her sister’s hand, "Stop calling her pretty sister or I’ll not buy you the oil pastels."
The little girl immediately covered her mouth, indicating she wouldn’t speak again.
Thea Thorne glared at Moira Young and then went to pay with her sister.
Moira Young pursed her lips, looking at the empty spot on the shelf. It seemed there were only other brands of oil pastels left.
After Thea Thorne left, Moira Young took her notebook to the checkout counter; the clerk had already checked the inventory, and fortunately, everything was in stock.
"I’d like to buy these notebooks by the box too," Moira Young placed the notebook there.
"We have those in stock, so I’ll give you the box price directly," the clerk scanned the code.
"Okay, by the way, are there any more of those oil pastels the last girl bought?" Moira Young asked, she really liked the packaging—especially beautiful.
"No, that brand of oil pastels has been out of stock,"
Moira Young was a little disappointed, "Alright then."
The store clerk moved boxes and stacked them outside the store, a total of twenty boxes.
"Make way, make way!" Suddenly a few people shouted while walking this way.
Moira Young was startled, thinking her purchases were blocking others, and immediately prepared to ask the driver to move them.
"There’s just enough space, it’s fine!" The people behind the boxes managed to squeeze through.
Curious, Moira Young looked over to see who they were and found out it was Evan Howard.
They were pulling a few boxes, all heading down the small path.
"Evan!" Moira Young ran over to catch up, "Fancy meeting you again!"
The group stopped, as the last time at the wholesale market, the others hadn’t clearly seen Moira Young’s face; now, at close range, they realized it was her.
"It’s you; still haven’t finished shopping?" Evan Howard thought Moira Young would have finished long ago.
"Just finished; what a coincidence to run into you here," Moira Young was quite happy, not expecting to see him around here.
"Do you run a store around here?" Moira Young glanced at the few boxes behind him.
"Yes, but it’s further in; the location isn’t great." Evan Howard pointed, there was a small storefront ahead, it looked quite basic from the outside, "Can’t compare to big stores like this one."
"Miss, do you want to visit our store?" one of the guys asked.
Moira Young nodded happily, "Is it okay?"
"Of course, just don’t mind it," Evan Howard said, glancing at the car and driver behind Moira Young, "The road is quite narrow, I’m afraid a sedan can’t go in."
Moira Young turned and told the driver, "Wait here for me, and call another car to move these goods."
"Yes, Miss," the driver answered respectfully.
As soon as Moira Young said this, Evan Howard’s group was dumbfounded, staring at the twenty boxes behind her.
"Did you buy all of this?" Evan Howard looked at her incredulously.
Moira Young didn’t understand what surprised them, she smiled and said, "Yes, they’re for someone else."
Evan Howard and his friends couldn’t help but swallow hard, a celebrity buying things was indeed different... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
They looked at their own stock, just a few boxes...
Moira Young followed them into the store, which was indeed several times smaller than the one before, and its decor in all aspects was inferior.
"Feel free to look around first, I’ll stock some items," Evan Howard started unpacking the boxes he bought wholesale.
"Okay, you go ahead," Moira Young wandered around his shop, asking, "Did you guys open this store together?"
"No, Evan Howard opened it himself, we’re just here to help out," one of them handed Moira Young a bottle of water.
Moira Young politely thanked him, "Are you all still in school?"
"We’ll graduate in about half a year, but none of us are as successful as Evan Howard, who did small business for two years and saved enough to open this shop; the rest of us are still worried about finding jobs!"
Evan Howard overheard and turned around, "Don’t pretend, you’ve already got offers from fortune 500 companies, what are you pretending to be pitiful for!"
"So what, in the end, we’re all still workers; you’re the only one who’s a boss!"
Moira Young thought their conversation was quite amusing, listening to their chat while browsing the stationery.
"By the way, how’s your job search going, Strong Pig?" Evan Howard suddenly asked a quiet guy sorting goods, pausing his actions while asking.
