Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 225: Anxious
After dinner, Moira Young noticed that Julian Sinclair and Adrian Grant seemed to have something to discuss, so she returned to her room to read the script.
As a result, she accidentally ended up reading until the early hours of the morning, only getting a few hours of sleep that night.
Julian Sinclair woke up early, but seeing that she was still sound asleep, he didn’t want to wake her.
Mrs. Miller made a cup of coffee for Julian Sinclair and then brought him today’s newspaper.
"Young master, Miss needs to be at LE by nine-thirty, and it’s already eight-thirty now," Mrs. Miller checked the time and gave a simple reminder.
Julian Sinclair didn’t respond.
Mrs. Miller then understood that Julian Sinclair probably didn’t want Moira Young to go to the LE audition.
Just at that moment, Moira Young hurriedly came down the stairs, holding onto the handrail, "Oh no, I’m going to be late!"
Julian Sinclair looked up slightly, "No rush."
Thanks to Mrs. Miller’s careful care and nutritional supplements over the past few days, Moira Young’s knee injury had improved significantly. Going down the stairs wasn’t much of a problem, just a bit slower.
Seeing that she wasn’t complaining about pain going down the stairs, Julian Sinclair let her be.
"Didn’t sleep well last night?" Julian Sinclair noticed her dark circles and was a bit displeased.
"I accidentally read the script until midnight. I rarely read these romance things, but when I started, it was actually pretty good," Moira Young sipped her milk with a smile, looking in a good mood.
"Do you really want to go to the audition?" Julian Sinclair put down the newspaper and asked.
"Initially, I wasn’t that interested, but after reading the script, I really want to give it a shot," Moira Young was in such a good mood that she naturally ate more, finishing the two slices of bread in her hand and calling out, "Mrs. Miller, help me toast two more slices of bread!"
Seeing her so happy, Julian Sinclair felt cheerful himself, "Alright, I’ll take you there."
"Ah?" Moira Young immediately wilted, "I’d rather not..."
"Why?"
"I think it’s better if others don’t know..."
When Julian Sinclair previously acquired LE, he had already made a public appearance, so he wasn’t concerned about future appearances. He usually disliked being in the public eye, but he couldn’t resist wanting to take her there.
Moira Young sneaked a glance at Julian Sinclair, noticing he seemed a bit upset, and softly suggested, "How about this, you take me there, and then drop me off before we reach LE, alright?"
Julian Sinclair nodded slightly, agreeing reluctantly.
"Back when I was in school, if you took me, you’d always drop me off in some obscure corner to avoid being seen. Since that’s how it was back then, we should keep up the habit," Moira Young suggested.
Julian Sinclair looked at her serious yet somewhat naive face, his lips curling up; she was really so cute.
"As long as you want it, I’ll agree," Julian Sinclair’s eyes held a gentle tenderness.
Moira Young nodded enthusiastically, "Alright! It’s a deal!"
Julian Sinclair couldn’t help but pat her on the head, silly girl.
When they arrived at LE, it was nine twenty-five. Moira Young stood at the entrance, waiting for someone to deliver the cufflinks.
Julian Sinclair originally wanted to come along, but Moira Young refused, so she was not worried about him seeing her waiting for someone.
A lot of female artists from various companies were slowly arriving at LE, some of whom seemed to be quite renowned; Moira had seen them on TV before.
The entrance of LE also started to fill with crowds, all consisting of fans of different stars, practically reaching the level of frenzy.
There were also many people taking photos with their phones, and Moira Young felt quite awkward standing at the entrance, so she moved further in.
"Are you Moira Young?" Suddenly, a female artist wearing sunglasses walked in from the entrance and looked at her.
Moira Young nodded, unsure of what was happening.
The artist took off her sunglasses, scrutinized Moira Young carefully, and then said, "You sure got famous easily!"
Moira Young didn’t know how to respond.
"I’ll consider you my top competitor during the audition later, but I believe you’ll lose miserably." She put her sunglasses back on, ready to leave.
Moira Young was taken aback, "Excuse me—"
The female artist paused.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Moira Young genuinely didn’t know her name, just that she seemed to be quite a big deal.
The female artist’s face turned dark instantly. She glared at Moira Young and walked away without responding.
Moira Young was a bit confused; she really didn’t know who she was...
Moira Young shook her head, not caring about her. Her top priority was waiting for the person delivering the cufflinks.
She took out her phone to check the time; it was already nine thirty-five, and Lee was calling, but all she could hear was the sound of fans cheering, making it hard to hear anything clearly.
"Moira, there’s a small meeting at nine thirty, why aren’t you here yet?"
"Sorry, Lee, something came up," Moira Young apologized. She couldn’t go to the meeting without the cufflinks.
"What could be more important than today’s audition?" Lee was speechless, "Alright then, you can’t make it to the small meeting, but don’t be late for the ten o’clock audition."
"Okay, I got it." Moira Young hung up anxiously, looking towards the crowd.
There were too many fans, surrounding the place tightly. She wasn’t sure if the person delivering the cufflinks could get in.
As time ticked by, Moira Young paced back and forth in the lobby, clutching her phone.
Logically, if the delivery person couldn’t get in or find her, they would call her. Why hadn’t she heard anything?
She didn’t have the shop’s phone number and regretted not leaving her number back then.
It was now nine fifty; by this point, all the female artists here for the audition were probably inside, and no more were coming in from outside.
The fans outside were now sitting down and quiet, taking a break from cheering.
Moira Young stood on her toes; with the fans sitting, she could finally see the situation outside the circle, but she saw no sign of the delivery person.
What exactly went wrong? They agreed to deliver by nine thirty, yet twenty minutes late, nothing had arrived...
Moira Young had promised Lee she’d be at the ten o’clock audition, and she was getting anxious.
After another five minutes passed, Moira Young couldn’t wait any longer but couldn’t just leave to go to the shop.
But if she went to the audition now and the delivery person came but couldn’t find her, what then?
After weighing her options, Moira Young decided to go to the audition first and check with the shop afterward.
She didn’t walk quickly, but fortunately, she arrived on the audition floor right at ten.
When Lee saw her, he approached and asked, "Did you bring the script?"
"I forgot..." Moira Young had stayed up late reading it and was too rushed when she woke up, forgetting it on the bedside table.
"Have you chosen the content for your audition then?"
Moira Young nodded, "I’ve chosen it, and I’ve memorized it."
"Alright then, you’re up third, don’t be too nervous, relax," Lee advised.
