Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 219: Wheelchair
Early the next morning.
Moira Young had promised Lee to go to the company, so she set an alarm and got up on time.
"Moira." Julian Sinclair knocked on the door.
Moira Young hadn’t changed her clothes yet, and she was just about to tell Julian not to come in when he opened the door and entered.
"There’s something at the company this morning, so I can’t take you." Julian originally planned to personally take Moira to LE, but something came up last minute.
"Alright, you go ahead." Moira felt a little excited at the thought; if Julian wasn’t taking her, did that mean she didn’t have to use the wheelchair either? Wouldn’t need Lee the butler to follow her?
Just as she thought that, Julian spoke, "But Lee the butler will be watching over you."
Moira’s face fell, no way...
"I can walk now, look." Moira sat up from the bed, holding onto the wall as she walked slowly.
Julian’s expression was clear; there was no room for negotiation, but Moira was determined and insisted on walking to show him.
"I really can walk on my own now, and besides, when I get to the company, I hardly move around, I’m just in the office, really, it’s fine." Moira looked at Julian full of hope, hoping he would agree.
"No way." Julian’s deep voice was irrefutable.
Moira was disheartened, like a wilting flower.
"Get dressed and come downstairs for breakfast." Julian walked out, closing the door behind him.
Moira pouted, reluctantly changed her clothes, and mumbled something as she left the room, only to find Julian unexpectedly waiting outside, having heard everything she said...
Julian’s eyes flickered as he carried her downstairs.
Lee the butler was already waiting, along with an automatic wheelchair nearby.
Moira awkwardly looked at the wheelchair. While stuffing a piece of bread in her mouth, she almost choked, especially when Adrian Grant came downstairs and mocked the wheelchair.
Julian glared at him, "Do you believe I can make you sit in it?"
"No, no, no, I was just joking. This wheelchair is only suitable for little Moira, not for me," Adrian laughed.
After breakfast, Julian left first, Adrian went back to sleep, and Lee the butler took Moira to the LE company.
Upon arriving at LE, Moira’s mind was racing, thinking of how to avoid using the wheelchair and how to manage without Lee the butler following her. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Lee the butler, Julian said if I can walk on my own, I don’t have to use the wheelchair." Moira got out of the car and took a few steps, "See, I can walk, so put the wheelchair away."
Lee the butler dutifully replied, "Miss, the young master instructed that no matter what, you must sit in it, and he also told me to never leave your side."
Moira looked dejectedly at the wheelchair, then at the entrance of LE. If she really sat in it, she’d be fine as long as she didn’t run into Vivi, but if she did, who knows what they’d say.
Resigned, Moira had to sit in it and entered the company like that.
Lee’s office was on a higher floor, so they needed to take the elevator. There were six elevators in total; five were on the upper floors, and only one was on the basement level.
Lee the butler pressed for the elevator on the basement level and waited for it to come up.
When the elevator doors opened, Moira saw Vivi holding a cup of coffee inside, along with Annie, and they were chatting.
Moira’s heart tightened; it really was true that what you fear is what you encounter, and she ran into the people she least wanted to meet.
"Sister Vivi, Sister Annie." No matter how much Moira disliked Vivi, she still maintained her manners.
Vivi looked Moira up and down, then chuckled, "What kind of gear is this?"
Moira smiled awkwardly, not saying a word.
"I saw on the show that your knee was hurt, is that why?" Annie asked with concern.
Moira was wearing a long skirt, so her knee wasn’t visible.
Moira nodded a bit embarrassed.
"Everyone in showbiz has gotten injured, but I’ve never seen anyone come to work in a wheelchair," Vivi scoffed, "When I fractured a bone during a variety show, the company only gave me a crutch, not such a fancy wheelchair."
Once Moira entered the elevator, she turned her back to Vivi.
Lee the butler stood on the side, keeping watch.
Vivi assumed the wheelchair was provided by the company for Moira, which made her feel it was unfair, "A newly popular artist already getting such treatment, it’s truly unfair."
Annie gave Vivi a look, signaling her to stop, but Vivi ignored it, "I wonder what connections she has, or whose bed she’s landed in."
"That’s enough, Vivi, stop it." Annie couldn’t take it anymore; Vivi’s temperament was anything but steady, and she liked to complain about everything.
"Annie, don’t you feel anything? We’re all earning money for the company, so why does she get such good treatment while we don’t?" Vivi asked unhappily.
Moira knew those words were meant for her, but she didn’t care to explain.
"There’s an outsider here, just say less," Annie mentioned, referring to Lee the butler, since there were only the four of them in the elevator.
They didn’t know Lee the butler was there with Moira; they thought he was someone from another company for a meeting.
Vivi finally stopped speaking, unhappily leaning in the corner until the elevator doors opened. All four of them headed to Lee’s office.
"You all came together? Come in, I have something to announce." Lee gestured them in and had his assistant pour them water.
"I don’t want water, just coffee." Vivi sat down first, not showing a pleasant expression.
"Why such a temper early in the morning, who upset you?" Lee asked.
"I wouldn’t dare say." Vivi placed her coffee on the table, "I’m just a minor figure, I wouldn’t dare say things I shouldn’t."
"What’s with that attitude, what’s really the matter?"
Annie sat down, "Lee, don’t listen to her nonsense. She loves getting angry all day long, yet no one really bothers her."
Vivi turned her face away, staying silent.
Lee wanted to console her, but with so many people around, he hesitated and eventually let it go.
He turned to Moira, "Moira, how are you feeling, better?"
Before Moira could speak, Vivi preempted, "With such a comfortable setup, even if she’s better, she’d say she’s not."
"What treatment?" Lee found Vivi’s words perplexing, but he regarded it as a minor issue.
Then he addressed Lee the butler, "And you are?"
"I am—" Lee the butler started to explain, but Moira interrupted.
"Lee, this is my uncle, he brought me here." Moira quickly explained, fearing Lee the butler would mention he was her butler...
"Oh, I see, uncle, please have a seat while we have a short meeting." Lee gestured to the sofa next to them for Lee the butler to sit.
"What’s the matter actually?" Vivi asked impatiently.
"Here’s the thing, there’s an audition the day after tomorrow, and the company wants you three to go on it." Lee said, "It’s for a drama, and Sean Dunn is the male lead."
