Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 162: Acting Cute
Adrian Grant left the dining table, comfortably lying on the sofa, and even asked Mrs. Miller to bring him a blanket.
Julian Sinclair glanced at Adrian Grant indifferently. Since his amnesia, he had an involuntary aversion to many people, yet he felt relaxed around Adrian Grant.
Perhaps their relationship was truly good before.
Julian turned around and went upstairs. He planned to start looking in each room. Since Adrian Grant had made his statement and was comfortably lying on the sofa, it meant he hadn’t been talking nonsense.
Julian was eager to find the answer.
For some unknown reason, Julian originally planned to start searching from the farthest room, but as he walked to a room in the middle, an alluring scent suddenly stopped him. Instinctually, he placed his hand on the doorknob.
Time passed second by second, yet Julian showed no intention of opening the door.
For some reason, a feeling of panic arose in him.
It was as if opening this door would bring about overwhelming pain, and he feared he couldn’t bear it.
Suddenly.
Julian let go of the doorknob, his hand dropping weakly, then he turned around indifferently.
Earlier, he was impatiently searching for answers, but now, when the truth was just a wall away, he realized he didn’t have the courage for it.
Unless he was fully prepared, he probably wouldn’t open this door.
Julian went downstairs. Hearing the noise, Adrian sat up and asked in confusion, "Did you finish looking already?"
Julian placed his documents and computer on the coffee table, sitting next to Adrian to start working.
"No, did you even look or not?" Adrian asked curiously.
"No," Julian replied coldly.
Adrian leaned in, "What’s up with you? Afraid to look?"
Julian pushed him to the other side, his expression saying ’Do not approach.’
Adrian really wanted to mock him, but considering it was his own home, he decided to hold back and mock him in his mind, surprised to see Julian afraid of something.
"So dull!" Adrian deliberately expressed disdain, then lay back down, diverting his attention to his phone.
Julian worked while Adrian lounged next to him, scrolling through gossip.
After a while, Adrian sat up suddenly as if he had discovered some shocking secret. Due to the sofa’s elasticity, his sudden movement affected Julian, causing the documents in his hand to fall to the ground.
Julian frowned, about to speak, but Adrian made a "shush" gesture, his face full of disbelief.
"I actually saw Moira Young! Guess how I saw her and what she’s doing now?" Adrian kept scrolling through his phone, continually expressing amazement.
Julian grabbed the phone, his eyes darkening. The screen showed pictures of Moira Young from the night of the talent show, followed by images of her being splashed with soy milk in the cafeteria. The headline read, "Innocent girl from LE makes a dazzling debut, only to be targeted by the jealous the following day!"
Adrian watched Julian’s face, waiting to see his reaction.
Yet, Julian didn’t react at all.
"Hey, why no reaction at all? Didn’t you just ask me who she was?" Adrian waved his hand in front of Julian’s eyes, "Hey!"
Julian’s eyes remained calm as he tossed the phone back to Adrian.
Julian finally obtained the most useful information: Moira Young was now with LE.
He called Gary, his voice cold, "Cancel tomorrow’s schedule."
On the other end, Gary sounded troubled, "Julian, canceling tomorrow’s schedule might not be good..."
Julian disliked hearing such words and even felt a bit of loathing, cutting off the call directly.
No schedule could outweigh his most important reason for returning to China.
About an hour later, Gary called back. Julian, initially impatient, didn’t want to pick up, but the persistent ringing annoyed him enough that he answered.
"Julian, tomorrow’s original schedule is canceled. What are your plans for tomorrow?"
"Acquire LE," Julian said expressionlessly.
"LE? Julian, you’ve never ventured into the entertainment industry before. This sudden acquisition—" Gary began, but Julian cut him off again.
Adrian, watching from the side, yawned and said, "You should really get the housekeeper back. I wonder if something happened to him. He’s your trusted aide."
"A person can’t just vanish into thin air. You disappeared because someone took you to Vesperia. So how do you explain the housekeeper’s disappearance? Maybe report it to the police," Adrian suggested.
Julian found the name ’housekeeper’ unfamiliar, only knowing from Adrian that he was important. However, he didn’t feel the current him thought the same.
Julian agreed casually, understanding that finding the person was the priority.
"By the way, you’re acquiring LE? Count me in, will you?" Adrian approached eagerly, his eyes sparkling.
Julian turned his head with an expression that said, ’What does it have to do with you?’
"They say LE’s female artists are more attractive. Isn’t this taking advantage of the opportunity?" Adrian blinked innocently, reaching out to tug Julian’s sleeve, "Please?"
Julian’s face twitched, pushing him away without hesitation.
"Please? Please? Please?" Adrian became even more aggressive, throwing himself at Julian!
Julian’s face darkened, and he suddenly stood up, causing Adrian to miss and fall to the ground...
"You... are you trying to murder your brother..." Adrian got up, retreating obediently to the sofa.
Julian couldn’t stand his nauseating tone any longer, his expression full of disdain.
Adrian didn’t accept it, pouting in an annoyingly whiny tone, "Why can Moira Young act cute and get the stars from the sky, but I can’t?"
Julian was taken aback, "What do you mean by that?"
Realizing he went too far, Adrian quickly lay back on the sofa, covering his head with a blanket, "I’m asleep!"
Julian was speechless, wondering why he had such a friend.
"Mr. Grant, are you staying for lunch?" Mrs. Miller called out.
Adrian feigned sleep, not answering.
Mrs. Miller assumed Adrian had left, muttering, "Why does he run off every time like he’s escaping? Is it because there’s no coffee bought and brought over?"
Julian looked at Adrian, who was tightly wrapped in the blanket, and said to Mrs. Miller, "He’s not eating here."
Adrian peeked out with one eye, saw Julian watching him, and quickly hid again.
