Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 143: Japan
Japan.
Morton took Heath and the group out for two days of fun. Moira Young was delighted to finally visit Yamazaki Kawanoi’s house, only to later find out that he and Morton were actually relatives and quite close.
Yamazaki Kawanoi gifted Moira Young many books, all of which were privately printed and not for sale.
During her two days in Japan, Moira Young had a much brighter mood.
And today was the day she anticipated the most—they were going to Universal Studios Japan in Kizuna.
"Morton, are we staying over there tonight or coming back?" Heath, having just eaten, lay lazily in the car.
"Either’s fine." Morton looked at Moira Young, "Moira, do you want to stay there or come back?"
Heath was stunned for a moment and quickly sat up. He looked at Morton in confusion, thinking that question should have been posed by him to Moira Young, yet here Morton was doing it instead.
"I’m fine with whatever you guys choose." Moira Young didn’t mind and was already satisfied just to have the chance to go.
"Wait, wait, wait, what’s going on here? Since when did you two get so chummy? Yesterday you were calling her Miss Young, and today it’s just Moira?" Heath’s face twitched with irritation.
Morton and Moira Young exchanged a smile. The previous day at Yamazaki Kawanoi’s house, they had found a lot of common ground, much more than Heath and Moira Young. Feeling a connection with Morton, Moira had invited him to call her simply Moira.
"We’ve been hanging out for two days now, Morton’s already gotten familiar with us. Doesn’t he even call me Carter too?" Carter Porter looked at him disdainfully and didn’t forget to jab, "You’re so childish."
"Who are you calling childish? I dare you to say it again. Do you think I won’t toss you out of Japan?" Heath glared at him viciously, "Call me childish again and I might really fall out with you."
Morton tried to lighten the mood with a joke: "Heath falling out is quite scary."
Moira Young nodded nonchalantly, but it was just a habit without much thought. However, Heath was displeased upon seeing it, pestering Moira Young by saying, "What’s so scary about me? If I am scary, it’s only to others, never to you!"
Moira Young pursed her lips and smiled.
After a while, they finally arrived at Universal Studios Japan, and to accommodate Moira Young, the three of them, by unspoken agreement, first accompanied her to the Harry Potter-themed area.
Moira Young looked around at the buildings and scenery with surprise, as if stepping into the Harry Potter movies. Even more immersive was the sight of people dressed in school uniforms walking in rows.
Seeing Moira Young, someone even jokingly asked, "Why aren’t you going to class? You’re about to be late!"
Noting how much Moira Young truly enjoyed the place, Morton couldn’t help but ask, "Moira, want to dive deeper into this experience?"
Moira Young didn’t quite grasp his meaning until Morton pointed to a store not far away, "That’s where they sell magical items; we can go take a look."
"Yes, yes!" Even though Heath wasn’t initially keen on Harry Potter, the super atmospheric setting made him find the feeling quite magical, "I want to wear a Hogwarts uniform too—I’m sure I’d look really cool."
Together, they went to the magical shop and picked out many items. Moira Young wanted to buy everything she saw, but couldn’t carry it all, so she had to pick only a few must-have items.
"Moira, try this on." Morton held out a cloak uniform, but before he could hand it to Moira Young, Heath snatched it away.
Without a word, Heath draped it over Moira Young and then pulled her to the mirror, admiringly saying, "Beautiful, really beautiful!"
Looking at her reflection, Moira Young was suddenly reminded of when she was with Julian Sinclair, lying in his arms and telling him how much she wanted to attend Hogwarts.
Julian Sinclair’s doting face seemed so absurd in hindsight.
"Moira?" Heath noticed her trance-like state and couldn’t help waving his hand in front of her eyes, teasing, "Silly girl?"
Moira Young snapped out of her wandering thoughts, her eyes slightly red.
"What’s up with you? You look like you’re about to cry?" Heath’s handsome brow furrowed slightly, puzzled at how looking in a mirror could provoke tears.
"Nothing, just feeling really happy." Moira Young avoided Heath’s inquisitive gaze.
Seeing that she didn’t want to talk, Heath refrained from probing further.
Throughout the day, the group had a great time, and Moira Young fell in love with traveling. She felt it was a great way to alleviate many of her sorrows.
It allowed her to forget some things she needed to forget during this time.
By the time they returned to Morton’s house, it was already very late. Everyone was exhausted but also very hungry, so Morton considerately drove them out for some late-night snacks.
During the meal, Morton said, "Shall we go to the Temple of the Serene Moon tomorrow? It should be lively there."
"Heath should go, racing is so dangerous, it’s time to get a charm or something for safety," Carter Porter suggested.
Heath hadn’t even thought of himself; he was only thinking about his father’s poor health, so he readily agreed.
The next day.
The Temple of the Serene Moon.
At the temple entrance, there were numerous stalls selling items, and the street was filled with women wearing Japanese kimonos. It was crowded and indeed lively.
After they came out of the temple, Heath couldn’t help but ask, "Carter, what did you wish for?"
"I hoped my dad’s job would go a bit smoother and that my mom could stay forever young."
Heath couldn’t help but exclaim, "As expected of my brother, both thinking about our parents."
"And what about Moira? What did you wish for?"
Moira Young didn’t want to say and pretended not to hear.
Carter Porter, being single-minded, said, "She probably didn’t make a wish."
Later, as they strolled, they found that the charms sold along the street were all very pretty. Morton bought a peace charm, saying he frequently flew between China and Japan, so he definitely needed one for protection.
Hearing this, Carter Porter immediately got a peace charm for Heath and stuffed it into his pocket, "Heath needs one too."
Heath rolled his eyes at him, "Should I also buy you a wealth charm? To instantly become the richest man in the world."
The two bantered back and forth nonstop.
Meanwhile, Moira Young stood quietly to the side, looking at a peace charm by her hand. She didn’t know why, but her first thought was to get one for Julian Sinclair.
After thinking for a while, Moira Young smirked coldly in her heart.
Whether Julian Sinclair was safe or not had nothing to do with her.
After Heath, Carter Porter, and Morton had all wrapped up, they were ready to leave. Moira Young’s hand seemed to move on its own, and while they weren’t paying attention, she secretly grabbed a peace charm, then threw some money on the stall in a rush.
"Miss, you haven’t got your change yet!" she heard the stall owner shout.
Morton understood Japanese; he turned around and saw Moira Young’s somewhat pale face and her uneasy, nervous expression.
Heath and Carter Porter were still goofing around and didn’t notice.
