Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 139: Japanese Cuisine
Moira Young’s chewing motion froze; why did she think of him at a time like this...
"Don’t you like it?" Morton saw that she was stunned and thought there was something wrong with the king crab. He tried it himself and found it delicious, leaving him a bit puzzled.
Moira Young’s thoughts were pulled back by Morton’s voice. She acted as if she was happy, "It’s delicious, I really like it."
After saying that, she took the initiative to peel a leg for herself. Saying goodbye to the past starts with small habits. She used to rely on Julian Sinclair to do everything for her, but now she must learn to do it herself.
"I’ll be going back to Japan soon. Is there anything you need me to bring back?" Morton asked.
Heath Sterling had just put a slice of succulent salmon in his mouth. Upon hearing this, he quickly chewed and swallowed before joking, "The Japanese shopping service is online. If there’s anything you want, just let me know—except for the things that can’t be brought back, everything else is fine."
Moira Young smiled, not saying anything. Her mood now was vastly different from when she first entered the shop.
Carter Porter didn’t need Morton to bring anything back for him. After all, he didn’t lack anything and had no desire for anything in particular; even the action figures he loved were primarily Marvel superheroes.
"I don’t need anything. What about you, Heath?"
Heath Sterling clicked his tongue twice and said in a strange tone, "You really don’t need anything? You forgot you still have two of the books you borrowed from me to return?"
Carter Porter immediately understood and couldn’t help but ask, "Did you get those books through Morton from Japan?"
"What else? Can you buy them here in the country?" Heath Sterling looked disdainful.
"Books?" Moira Young caught the word ’books’ and couldn’t help thinking about the few Japanese original books she saw online recently. They had just been released, and the online reservation was booked for two months later.
Heath Sterling and Carter Porter both looked at Moira Young and said in unison, "Are you also planning to buy some?"
Moira Young, though not understanding why the two guys in front of her were acting goofy today, cautiously asked Morton, "Can you buy Yamazaki Kawaiten’s books?"
"Yamazaki Kawaiten?" Morton paused, surprised, "I didn’t expect you to know him."
"Not many people in China know about him." Morton had been in China for six years, and it was the first time he’d heard a Chinese person mention Yamazaki Kawaiten’s name.
Heath Sterling and Carter Porter were baffled and simultaneously looked at Morton with a dumbfounded expression.
"I also found out by chance. So far, I’ve only read a book he wrote two years ago called ’Don’t Look at Me.’ I thought the story was captivating." Moira Young wasn’t very familiar with the writer but just wanted to read his new book.
Most importantly, she had to find a way to fill the gap in her mind, so she wouldn’t constantly think of Julian Sinclair.
"Yes, his novels have a strong sense of immersion. If you like it, I can get you a freshly released book when I come back from Japan, and a few others he privately printed that were never sold."
"Really? How can you buy them?" Moira Young thought Morton was joking. How could privately printed, unsold books be obtained...
Morton’s smile grew more pronounced. He intentionally kept it a secret.
Heath Sterling couldn’t make head or tail of it. The books he and Carter Porter discussed were one kind, but what Moira Young and Morton were talking about seemed to be something else.
"Morton, when are you going back to Japan?" Heath Sterling asked.
"In two weeks."
Heath Sterling thought for a moment and muttered to himself, "Getting a visa pretty quickly, right..."
"Moira, Carter, how about we take a couple of days off and go to Japan with Morton?" Heath Sterling rubbed his hands together expectantly.
Morton, hearing this, was overjoyed, "That’d be great, can we?"
Carter Porter didn’t have any issues, with his passport on hand, he could leave anytime, and it’s just about getting a visa.
All three of them looked at Moira Young, who was the only one yet to nod.
Moira Young hesitated a bit. She had just skipped a week’s worth of classes and finally persuaded herself to leave home and return to school. Should she take leave again...
"I haven’t gone to class in a week; I’m afraid I’ll fail..." Moira Young’s voice was soft and sticky, a bit embarrassed.
"Failing?" Heath Sterling confidently patted Morton’s shoulder, "We’ve got a graduate here. Let Morton enlighten you about failing in university."
Morton laughed, "It’s okay, don’t worry. During university, I almost had to return to Japan every two months, but still completed my graduate studies." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Heath Sterling nodded satisfactorily, "There, you heard him—it’s okay, it’s okay. We’ve been feeling down lately; getting away would do us good."
At the mention of getting away, Moira Young wavered a bit.
"I can take you to Yamazaki Kawaiten’s home to see his collection of books," Morton confidently said.
Moira Young hadn’t expected Morton could not only get Yamazaki Kawaiten’s privately printed works but could also take her to visit his home?
This... was quite tempting...
"Moira, don’t you like Harry Potter? I think Universal Studios in Kizuna has a Harry Potter themed area, right, Morton?" Carter Porter recalled sitting behind Moira Young in high school, often seeing Harry Potter books in her desk.
"Really?" Moira Young thought she heard wrong. She only knew about Disney but didn’t know there was a Harry Potter themed park.
"Yes, I went once before; it was quite a magical trip," Morton said as he took out his phone, "I have some photos."
After looking at the photos, Moira Young immediately felt that she had to go. It was rare for her to find something she was eager to do; if she liked it, she must go for it.
"Come with us and clear your mind," Heath Sterling ingratiatingly placed a fresh sea urchin on Moira Young’s plate.
"I really want to see Universal Studios." Moira Young agreed.
"I’ll ask my dad to get the visa sorted; he knows people at the A Travel Agency, so we can expedite it through them, simplify the materials." Carter Porter took on the task of handling the visas.
"Wait—" Moira Young’s heart skipped a beat; she had forgotten that her passport wasn’t with her.
"I think I lost my passport..." she said apologetically, moments earlier filled with excitement, now the atmosphere shifted to something awkward.
Heath Sterling paused for a few seconds, then hurriedly said, "Eat up, eat up! After we finish, I’ll take you to get a replacement passport, it’s quick."
"Can it be done in time?" Moira Young felt she was really a buzzkill.
"Yes, it can. Let’s buy the tickets now," Heath Sterling took out his phone, looked up Morton’s flight, and bought tickets for the three of them.
"I feel like my heart’s been on a roller coaster, up and down, thrilling," Heath Sterling couldn’t resist teasing a bit.
After eating, Heath Sterling and Carter Porter accompanied Moira Young to get the visa replaced.
Within five days, it would be mailed to her home, and Moira Young filled in her new address.
