Surviving the Apocalypse: All I Want Is to Find a Husband-Chapter 25: The Wrath of A Kind Man
Chapter 25: The Wrath of A Kind Man
"You’re brilliant for a girl." The man clapped his hands, looking proud but mocking her at the same time.
A girl.
Medeia smiled, but her heart burned with fury. It never crossed in her mind that a mere human would degrade her gender, even demons wouldn’t dare to say that to her.
"I’ve changed my mind." Medeia held her dagger tightly. "Let’s fight until one of us dies."
Earlier, she wanted to surrender because she was too lazy to fight over something she couldn’t win. However, after he humiliated her with that kind of words, Medeia thought losing was better than nothing.
She just wanted to destroy that ugly face of him.
"Unfortunately, a dead body can’t moan any—"
Medeia swung the dagger quickly, hurting Eddie’s cheek. "Talk again and I’ll cut your tongue out!"
"Oof ... scary." Eddie pretended to be scared. He touched his blood, and licked it.
Medeia grimaced in disgust. The combination of ugly face and ugly personality was deadlier than nuclear weapons.
"Unfortunately, I can’t play with you for too long, baby." Eddie suddenly threw a greenish powder in Medeia’s face.
It smelled like a rotten apple, but luckily Medeia didn’t have to smell it for too long because she immediately lost consciousness.
Eddie caught her body before she fell to the ground. He rubbed her dirty face and was immediately mesmerized by her beauty. "I know you’re beautiful under all that filth!"
"No wonder that bastard won’t share you with us!" the man smiled. "Don’t worry, pretty. You’ll have endless happiness once you come to our base."
The blue light suddenly enveloped their bodies before they both vanished like dust.
On the other side, Bear ran toward Lucian while biting Medeia’s compass. Lucian dropped his sword when he saw the wolf coming alone. "Where is Medeia?"
The wolf lowered his head and howled sadly. Bear showed Lucian the compass, then spun around as if it wanted to show that Medeia wanted Lucian to follow the compass.
He took the compass and frowned as the needle did not point north. He thought the compass was broken, but when he turned it over, he saw an engraving that read, ’It will show your destination’.
"Why do you look so angry? Your pet dog can’t protect your girl?" The Redbeard spoke, "Don’t be so angry, your dog would be dead if he hadn’t run away from Eddie."
The Redbeard sounded excited. He was surrounded by huge snakes that could spit out deadly venom. He was impressed by Lucian’s strength, but he didn’t think Lucian could stay alive for another hour fighting a horde of monsters.
The wolf barked loudly and growled, revealing its sharp fangs. Lucian knelt before it and stroked its head. "Medeia asked you to run, right? You’re a good boy, Bear." Then he whispered next to its ear. "Now run. Run as far as you can and never look back. I’ll catch up with you later."
The wolf obeyed his command immediately. It used all its strength to run as fast as the wind. Bear ran faster than before because it didn’t have to carry the weight on its back.
"Your dog ran away again? Such a bad dog." Redbeard laughed out loud. "I guess you are all alone now. If you behave, maybe you can join us, but alas, you’re not obedient at all."
Lucian stood up and put his sword back into its sheath. His expression turned cold and his eyes lost their light. There was no trace of kindness left on his face.
The air suddenly became heavy, making it difficult for everyone around to breathe. Small pebbles on the ground were lifted slightly into the air, and the monsters in the forest began to howl and shriek as if they were in pain.
Redbeard and the rest of his men felt something was off. "What happened? Redbeard, should we leave this forest?!"
"W-Why? Are you afraid of the breeze?" Redbeard ordered the monsters, who stop attacking Lucian. "What are you waiting for? Kill him now! I’m tired of playing with him!"
A huge rhinoceros with spiky horns ran quickly toward Lucian. It was a Grade-SS mutant that seemed to have killed so many humans that entered the forest.
Lucian waved his hand in the air, and suddenly the bones in the rhino’s body broke apart, separating from its flesh.
The monster’s mangled body scattered to the ground, its bones falling right in front of Redbeard.
"Tired? But I was just about to play." Lucian stepped in the blood and slowly walked over to the terrified men. "I was afraid Medeia would get scared and accidentally get hurt if I used my abilities. But she’s not here now, so what’s the point of holding back, right?"
"Go! We have to go now!" shouted Redbeard once he sensed the danger from Lucian. He walked backward, then ordered his men to bring their vehicles.
"Where are you going?"
The Stormclad vehicles lifted into the air, even a truck weighing thousands of tons could easily fly away. With a flick of his fingers, the vehicles fell onto the Stormclad. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
They scattered immediately, but some of the men were crushed by the heavy vehicles.
Lucian clenched his fists. The vehicles twisted and crumpled, metal screaming as they imploded. Sparks flew as fuel tanks ruptured, flames licking hungrily at the sky.
"You should have listened to me when I gave you the chance to let me go." Lucian’s emerald eyes filled with anger. "Once I’ve lost my patience, I can’t hold back anymore."
Redbeard desperately summoned more monsters in the Vermillion Forest. However, his fear impaired his ability, so he could only control five monsters at a time.
Unfortunately, those monsters couldn’t survive more than five seconds when they faced Lucian.
"You know you can’t mess with the Stormclad, right?" Redbeard tried to stop Lucian’s massacre. "Many alliances count on us and swear to do anything to protect us. Do you think you can handle the wrath of other alliances by killing an important member of the Stormclad?"
"What a joke." Lucian chuckled, mocking him. "They act that way because your bastard leader sabotaged the springs in Red Canyon. They’d be happy to see a greedy alliance like yours disappear."
"Earlier, I wanted to spare your life because I wanted you to show me the quickest way to Red Canyon." Lucian looked down at the compass in his hand. "But I don’t think you have any use for me anymore."
Redbeard tried to run, but he felt his legs weakening. As he crawled desperately, he said, "If you spare my life, I swear I’ll be your loyal subordinate! I’ll do anything you say!"
"Is that so?"
"Yes! Yes! I’ll never betray you!"
Lucian smiled, but his eyes were cold. "Unfortunately, I have no mercy for people who speak ill of my woman."
