Surviving in the Beast World with a System-Chapter 105: A Misunderstanding
As she spoke, she scratched nonstop. "How is it getting even itchier?"
Wu Yue turned and flashed Yuan Lang a brilliant, toothy grin.
Although it was meant to be a wicked smile, for some reason, the Beastman found it utterly adorable and charming.
The Beastman’s deep eyes instantly darkened, and the large hand that had been toying with a blade of grass clenched into a fist.
Only he knew how violently his heart was pounding in that moment.
A moment later, a roguish smile spread across the Beastman’s handsome face, and his gaze toward Wu Yue took on a deeper meaning.
His gaze was so scorching it seemed ready to melt the young female from a distance.
Feeling a burning heat on her back, Wu Yue turned around, only to see the Beastman watching her with a placid expression.
She pursed her lips, took a small, dirt-yellow root from the pouch at her side, and sliced it thinly with her shell knife.
She took Grandma Hua Shu’s hand and began rubbing the slices on the patches of red rash.
Grandma Hua Shu didn’t know what Wu Yue was doing, but she knew the girl understood a thing or two about medicinal herbs. While uncomfortably scratching her other arm, she asked, "Yue, what is this?"
Wu Yue smiled. "These are slices of ginger. I heard Amu say that some rashes can be treated by rubbing them with this, so I thought I’d give it a try for you."
After treating one arm, Wu Yue rubbed the other one down as well.
After a short while, the maddening itch really began to subside. Grandma Hua Shu stared in shock at her arm, which looked exactly the same as before.
If the red rash weren’t still there, she would have thought the intense itching from moments ago had just been a dream.
She looked at the dirt-yellow root in Wu Yue’s hand. "Yue, this ’ginger’ is incredible!"
With that, she stood up and pulled Wu Yue toward the door. "Let’s hurry to the witch and tell them this ginger can cure the terrible itch."
But Wu Yue grabbed her back. "Grandma, we can’t go."
Grandma Hua Shu’s expression turned serious. "Why not?"
Wu Yue’s expression was calm. "Grandma, the itch they’re feeling now is because Yuan Lang put that sap on them."
"But think about it. If those Collection Captains find out, they’ll definitely use this to make trouble for us."
Grandma Hua Shu froze. "But..."
Just as Wu Yue was about to persuade Grandma Hua Shu not to be such a saint, the older woman said with a conflicted expression, "But... I was the one who put the sap on Lu Shui’s arm..."
She even scratched her head, looking embarrassed.
Wu Yue was speechless.
’Sorry, I guess I overestimated your moral standing...’
’So you were only worried about Lu Shui because you’re the one who smeared that sap on her!’
The Beastman behind her chuckled, baring his teeth. He knew exactly what his makeshift Amu was like. When it came to her enemies, the more miserable they were, the better.
’The young female is still so naive...’
Wiping a hand over her face, Wu Yue put the chunk of ginger back in her small pack. "I’ll go, then. The rash doesn’t itch anymore, but it’ll still be visible for a while. You just have to act like nothing’s changed in front of the other tribe members."
"I’ll tell Grandma Lu Shui to do the same."
Grandma Hua Shu’s eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly like a chicken pecking at grain. "That’s a great idea! As long as Lu Shui is fine, who cares about the others?"
As she spoke, she pursed her lips in disgust, her expression like she’d just found a turd on her hand.
