Chapter 2377: Chapter 2377: The Strange Elder

So, despite the intense pain throughout his body, Su Yang forced himself to endure it, using his immense power to temporarily trap the two individuals. Then, wielding the Heaven-Slaying Blade, he charged forward and sliced the man apart in one stroke.

Though the man was a Saint King, in front of the Heaven-Slaying Blade, his power was utterly insignificant. With that blow, he was killed on the spot.

The woman was terrified, screamed, "Don’t kill me, don’t kill me! I was wrong, spare me, I beg you, spare me!"

Su Yang really didn’t want to kill her; he wanted to keep her around to question her about some things. But now, Su Yang had no choice. He could feel himself on the verge of losing consciousness; he couldn’t hold on any longer. If he didn’t kill this woman, she would surely escape once he fainted, and then his situation would be exposed.

So, without any hesitation, Su Yang swung his blade down.

The woman wailed as the blade struck her, meeting the same fate as the man, dying miserably on the spot and completely vanished.

After completing all this, Su Yang’s consciousness also dissipated completely, unable to hold on any longer, and he fell directly into the void, sinking into a state of unconsciousness.

The illusion and the Heaven-Slaying Blade both entered Su Yang’s body and vanished without a trace, leaving the area tranquil as if nothing had happened.

No one knew how much time had passed, but Su Yang finally awoke slowly.

Opening his eyes, the first thing Su Yang saw was not the Endless Starry Sky, but a stone wall. He was not drifting in the Endless Starry Sky but lying atop a stone bed.

Su Yang, startled, jumped directly off the stone bed.

He clearly remembered that after he killed that Saint Emperor in the Endless Starry Sky, consumed the Saint Emperor’s flesh and soul, and then killed his two disciples, he fainted. Wasn’t he unconscious in the Endless Starry Sky? What was happening now? How did he end up lying here?

While puzzling over this, noises suddenly came from outside. Su Yang’s heart skipped, and he immediately lay back down, continuing to feign unconsciousness.

Not knowing who the other person was, Su Yang didn’t dare open his eyes to look. Having experienced many things in the Endless Starry Sky, sometimes it was hard to trust fellow members of the Human Clan!

The footsteps were light, slowly approaching the bedside, seemingly examining Su Yang. After a while, the footsteps retreated, and a clear voice rang out, "Grandpa, you lied to me. You said he would wake up today, but he hasn’t yet; he’s still unconscious!"

"Is that so?" An elderly voice came from outside. "Go, try taking off his clothes!"

"Grandpa, what are you doing!" the girl protested indignantly. "How could I do such a thing?"

"Relax, he won’t let you do it!" the old man chuckled.

Lying on the stone bed, Su Yang opened his eyes, knowing that pretending to be unconscious was pointless now. The elder had already uncovered his awakening.

Exiting the cave, the first person Su Yang saw was a plainly dressed old man. Beside the old man stood a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl. She was rather cute, undoubtedly a budding beauty. Now, she looked like trouble for any nation or family; how could she be disposed of when she grew up?

Su Yang glanced at the pair and cupped his hands to the old man, "Sir, did you save me?"

"I wouldn’t say saved; just happened to pick you up!" the old man replied. "Your life wasn’t in danger; not dying was your own skill. I just put you here, so you wouldn’t be devoured by demon beasts roaming the Endless Starry Sky. Simple as that!"

After saying this, the old man waved his hand, "Nevertheless, it was extra effort on my part. Someone like you, even if devoured by a wandering demon beast, would surely survive while the demon beast perished!"

Su Yang was amazed, realizing the old man was no ordinary person.

"Thank you, sir!" Su Yang expressed his gratitude, cupping his hands.

"I told you, it wasn’t exactly a rescue, so no need to be so courteous!" The old man examined Su Yang, "Even so, you’ve got some skills, youngster. Did you fight with a Saint Emperor? And survived such a battle?"

"Uh?" Su Yang hesitated. Does the old man know about these events?

"I sensed the Saint Emperor’s presence, but with your strength, impossible to fight a battle with him. Otherwise, you’d be dead already. Oddly though, you possess the Saint Emperor’s power within you. How is that possible?" the old man mused before looking up, "Hey, what exactly happened to you? Harboring so much Saint Emperor’s power and yet surviving?"

Su Yang felt uneasy. How could the old man know this much?

Taking a deep breath, Su Yang whispered, "It’s a long story; my strength couldn’t possibly contend with a Saint Emperor. I just accidentally traveled through a space I shouldn’t have, got smacked by a Saint Emperor. My two friends died; only I survived. Thought I was doomed; didn’t expect to survive!"

"True?" the old man nodded slowly, "At that moment, I felt two Saint King presences nearby. Thought I made a mistake; turns out I didn’t. So, these two friends of yours shielded quite a bit of the Saint Emperor’s power, getting obliterated entirely!"

Feigning pain, Su Yang didn’t dare disclose his true situation to the elder, unsure of the old man’s identity. In the Endless Starry Sky, he had faced countless dangers and didn’t know whom to trust.

"Then, what place did you pass through that prompted the Saint Emperor’s action?" the girl asked, surprised.

"Little Yu, don’t ask such things!" the old man warned, "Asking too much involves karma."

"Uh, alright then!" The girl nodded, still curiously eyeing Su Yang.

Su Yang observed the old man and girl, confused. The old man showed restraint and didn’t probe about such matters?

"Young man, since you’re alright now, you should leave!" the old man said.

"Huh?" Su Yang was stunned, realizing the old man just brought him here to wake him up?

"Our place doesn’t welcome outsiders normally. While you were unconscious, it didn’t matter, but now that you’re awake, I can’t let you stay any longer!" The old man waved his hand, a radiance enveloping Su Yang, pushing him skyward.

"Sir!" Su Yang hurriedly asked, "What is this place exactly?"

"This is a forgotten place; best to forget ever coming here, forget everything that transpired, forget the two of us!" The old man concluded, waving his hand as the radiance enveloped Su Yang, pulling him into a spatial rift, directly transferring him to another space.
