Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 367: Shower Of Destruction
This was the first time Devil would be able to go all out when facing an enemy in the open rather than acting as an assassin striking from beyond the darkness.
Up until now, Malice had been the only exception, yet since the man had relied solely on bio-augments injected into his bloodstream to enhance his physical capabilities, rather than possessing spiritual energy himself, he wasn’t a true cultivator.
Devil’s owner was Michael, currently at the Radiant Lord realm. All things considered, there was a high possibility that, if not relying on his stealth capabilities, Devil was merely on the same level.
But Michael was also a Regressor, while Devil himself stood at Mythic rank, sustained solely by the power of his soul. Devil’s high rank allowed him to draw upon Michael’s spirit with perfect efficiency, and though the chances were slim, there remained a real possibility that he could at least stall, if not outright defeat, an Absolute Lord on his own.
Chance was one of Devil’s favorite prospects, for it mirrored betting in its purest, most profanated form. May the gods and all living things bear witness, for he delighted in gambling with every ounce of his corrupted heart!
Akin to a terrifying beast kept too long on a leash, Devil darted forward. Any orders from now on were to fall on deaf ears, for his world had narrowed to his foe alone. Hell-bent on inflicting maximum harm while unleashing the pressure building within him for so long.
Absolute Lord Freya was taken aback, facing a monster straight out of her worst nightmares. She barely had time to react before Devil’s claws tore through the air, slicing toward her face.
Swosh!
Gracefully jumping backwards, she soared high in the sky, deeming putting distance the best option.
"What the hell is this thing?! It took form out of Michael’s sword. Could it be a soul weapon? But I have never heard anything about this! Even more, Michael called it partner... Don’t tell me it’s truly intelligent?!" She murmured, mind racing.
At such a high altitude, she never expected Devil to flex his legs with such power that he leapt right in front of her face.
"!!!"
Realizing the severity of the situation, Freya stopped holding back.
Her eyes shone, pink hearts forming within them. In the space around her, globes of flaring pheromones materialized.
One of Freya’s trump cards, the air itself seemed charged with feral desire. Anyone who neared her, be it man or woman, would find their judgment clouded, their minds betraying them, portraying Freya as a goddess who demanded obedience.
The stronger the will of a person, the less effective it was. But even so, it was enough to pressure even Supreme Lords, slowly wearing down their psyche.
Freya’s provocative clothing, which she loved to flaunt, only boosted the intended effect. Her image was the reason she had yet to fail to conquer a man she set her sight upon.
Deploying such a technique from the very start was proof of how serious she had become. So much so that she gritted her teeth in disbelief a moment later, Devil continued to charge forward without a hint of hesitation.
"How is that you aren’t affected by my presence?! What... What even are you?!" She howled in despair. Close combat seemed the only option.
Flaring his chest outright, an impossibly wide grin twisted across Devil’s face. "Behold the power of pure testosterone! Tremble, woman, for you stand before the ultimate embodiment of masculinity!"
It was bizarre. Whatever Freya was facing didn’t resemble a human in the slightest! Meeting Devil’s charge head-on, she stuck her fist forward, the strike colliding with his chest. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Boom!
Taken aback by the intensity, Devil slid several times across the ground, coming to a stop.
"Did I get him?!" Freya murmured.
She got her answer fast enough.
Rising to his feet, Devil tilted his head to the side, his eye observing her figure from a distance in amusement. Smoke arose from his abandoned letting out liters of pitch-black blood, yet he remained utterly unfazed.
At horrifying speed, the injury he sustained healed, leaving no mark behind.
"I love it when my prey makes this expression..." Devil chuckled, stepping forward. "When you realize you can’t hope to kill what was never truly alive in the first place."
"Immortal?! Impossible, not even the Emperor is!" Freya’s gaze fixed on Michael, realization hitting her a second later.
"But of course! This thing isn’t human, so I shouldn’t be treating it the same! Killing Michael should be the safest way to get rid of it!" She reasoned, about to change targets.
Sadly, her plan wasn’t about to come to fruition with Devil pouncing on her.
Any wound he sustained would recover thanks to the power of Michael’s soul... But the same couldn’t be said for Freya. Showing her back to the feral beast would lead to dire consequences, even for an Absolute Lord like herself.
Unable to kill Devil, and look away, she was essentially trapped in place, forced to confront him endlessly.
"Goddamit, this wasn’t how it was supposed to go!" Freya roared, losing her cool.
Rejoicing in pure delight at the sight of the wretch losing it, Devil devoted himself to slowing her down.
Meanwhile, Michael, the reason Devil was finally able to enjoy himself properly, found himself facing Eliza and Elina simultaneously.
"I am unsure what the purpose of your plan is." Eliza admitted. Her form turned into a lightning bolt, rising high in the sky.
"But if it really entails facing not one but both of us at the same time... then you are doomed to failure. Underestimating an Absolute Lord would lead to your demise." Upon her proclamation, the very air around her fractured with raw power. Deadly chill spreading through the surroundings.
Air particles and tiny droplets of water fused and solidified, forming jagged ice pillars with surfaces harder than steel. Clustered across the sky, they heralded the arrival of doomsday.
To make matters worse, Elina followed her sister like an excited puppy. Lightning coursed through the crystalline pillars, charging them like bombs.
"I have high expectations. Don’t let me down!" Elina giggled playfully, aiming her index finger toward Michael, thumb raised upwards, making a gun gesture.
"Bang."
Under their combined might, the frozen spikes fell like a meteorite shower, bringing with them nothing but dread and destruction.
Every one of them directed squarely at Michael.
