Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 352: Heaven’s Verdict
Nemesis blinked slowly, his eyes sharpening with a dangerous edge.
"What the hell are you doing here? And how did you find me?"
Locking the door after him, Michael tilted his head, a menacing smile playing on his lips.
"You should have been more careful who you allowed to pat your back." He said, gesturing to his own back. "Makes it very easy to plant a bug that tracks your location."
Nemesis frowned, reaching behind him. He felt a small metal device and, without hesitation, crushed it in his hand.
"Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep it in mind next time." He said coldly.
Michael arched an eyebrow mockingly.
"Future? Your journey ends today."
Nemesis scoffed. With a flick of his hand, the shadows in the room twisted into sharp blades, all aimed at Michael.
"Do you really think you’ve cornered me? Just because you won by sheer luck in our last fight doesn’t mean you can do it again!"
He attempted to rise to his feet, only to feel lightheaded.
"What’s wrong?" Michael taunted calmly.
"Could it be... that the whiskey was too strong for you?"
The Absolute Lord gritted his teeth, smashing the bottle on the ground.
"So you even had the gall to poison me!" Nemesis roared.
"It’s pretty obvious your morals are no different from the others in power you claim to despise. But even relying on poison won’t save you!"
Michael chuckled darkly.
"You... talking about morals? Did you think I’d play fair when so many lives are at stake? When you dare threaten my family in front of me?"
He stepped closer.
"You see, there are some who have attempted to cause trouble for me and those close to me, whether through threats or abuse... Do you know why I still permit them to live?"
Michael paused briefly.
"Because at this very moment they are harmless. Getting rid of them would brew more trouble than it is currently worth. Unfortunately for you, however, you are too strong for your own good. Leaving you unchecked is out of the question. So even if I have to resort to playing dirty, I will be eliminating you today."
Nemesis slammed the table in front of him.
"I’ve heard enough. Prepare to die!"
Just as Nemesis was ready to attack, he found himself in a situation similar to last time. A claw tearing into his chest from behind.
Among the trolley of weapons, the older gentleman had delivered prior. Devil had been hidden at the very bottom.
"H—how?" Nemesis’s voice trembled. Unlike last time, this wound seemed far more painful. Was it because he knew this might truly be the end?
An answer came from behind him. Devil chuckled. There was no point hiding from the Absolute Lord any longer.
"You’re a moron and went against my partner. That’s how."
The Absolute Lord was left utterly speechless, witnessing Devil’s true appearance.
As it turned out, in his confrontation with Michael, no one had truly interfered. Devil was merely an extension of Michael’s powers, which meant Nemesis had actually lost to a Radiant Lord in a fair duel... That realization shattered his already wounded ego into pieces.
Michael drew closer.
"A fitting end, don’t you think? To lose to the same tactic twice in a row... Perhaps you were never the genius you deluded yourself into believing you were."
Extending his hand, he summoned Heaven’s Judgment. The double barrel of the shotgun was poised at point-blank range, aimed squarely at the Lord’s head.
"I am not killing you for your arrogance or selfishness... Everyone has the right to live as they believe is best, and I am not one to judge your choices."
Michael rested his finger on the trigger. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"But things change when you drag others backward, when you bring ruin and demise in the name of your progress in power. That only rings more true when, rather than using the power you have obtained for the greater good, you abuse it to suppress those beneath you."
Weakly, Nemesis tried to stop the bleeding gash on his chest, to no avail.
"You... are the true monster." The man uttered his last words.
Squeezing the trigger, Michael fired. Heaven’s Judgment passed its verdict, blowing the man’s head apart and ending his life for good.
"One less thing to worry about." Michael said, heaving a sigh of relief.
Devil tossed the corpse aside.
"Aren’t I a great ally? Without me acting as an assassin, you’d have a problem dealing with the fella." He reasoned.
Michael nodded. "Of course. I’ve never denied it. Your tongue may be foul, and your actions and beliefs questionable at best, but you are still my relatable partner."
Devil responded with a proud grin.
Outside the VIP room, the owner of the establishment and the waitress, who had earlier been harassed, thanked Michael profusely for taking care of the potential problem with deep bows.
They offered to pay him for his services, only for Michael to politely refuse.
But since he didn’t want them to feel indebted, and with Devil tugging at his soul with great intensity, Michael compromised by taking a fine bottle of liquor for Devil to enjoy before heading back to the blessed lands.
Shockingly, rather than returning to the base of his own faction, he stopped before the headquarters of the Bottomless Void.
It appeared that things had not been going smoothly since their recent loss. The residence had slowly descended into chaos.
Everyone froze at Michael’s unexpected arrival.
Hundreds of eyes, mixed with caution, curiosity, and anticipation, suddenly turned toward him.
Clearing his throat, he spoke loudly enough for all to hear, his voice betraying no hint of hesitation or fear.
"Honorable members of the Bottomless Void! I have come bearing a proposition!"
While this was underway, a certain comet drifted amidst the vast cosmos, an unknown number of light-years away from the Milky Way Galaxy.
"Uh~"
A tremendously powerful headache assaulted Queen Seer’s senses as she slowly regained her consciousness.
Lying on a makeshift bed, her blonde hair spilled like a waterfall. Her dress showed no signs of tears, nor did a single injury mar her delicate legs peeking past her exquisite attire.
Strangely, she appeared to be in an excellent... If not in a perfect condition.
With great effort, she gradually sat upright. Only to be rendered speechless by the ominous sky... Or more accurately, by the things that floated in the air.
Corpses, more than she could ever hope to count, drifted around her like lifeless puppets, all radiating the threatening auras of Titans. Killed before they even realized what they had been up against.
Before she could form any theories, the scent of burned flesh drifted into her nostrils.
Glancing to her side, Seer witnessed a bonfire. Foreboding gray flames illuminated the figure of an intimidating warrior, clad in black armor, his blazing eyes locked onto the mesmerizing dance of the beautiful fire.
Michael’s Echo gripped a struggling alien in his grasp, ignoring its muffled screams as he deliberately inflicted unbearable pain.
Noticing that his companion was finally awake, he halted, raising his gaze to meet hers.
Queen Seer observed the Echo quietly for a few moments before her lips parted.
"Where are we?"
