Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 277: Humans Untied
"Perish, human!" The Overlord bellowed, its limb lashing towards Michael’s torso.
Neither the alien’s speed nor its strength was to be underestimated.
Gracefully, Michael dodged to the side, determined not to let his new mecha be destroyed so quickly.
Unfortunately, this played right into the Overlord’s plan. Forcing him to move in a specific direction. Now the tentacles on its back surged forward, eager to trap him in place.
"You are finished!" The monster laughed.
However, a second later it realized the majority of the tentacles on its back had been severed.
"Who?!"
Behind it, Ruby stood, a wide grin spread across her face, hidden beneath the metallic veil of her armor.
"You didn’t notice me until it was too late, did you?" She teased.
Before the creature could react, Michael made use of its confusion to deliver a fatal blow.
Thud!
Lifelessly, the corpse of the creature fell on the ship’s hull.
"Great job." Michael praised Ruby. "You seem to have gotten the hang of it."
Adorably, she nodded eagerly. "Ruby will do even better so she gets more headpats later!"
Michael chuckled warmly.
"All the headpats in the world."
Quickly, the two infiltrated the battleship, cutting down anything that got in their way, until they reached the control room.
It didn’t take long for vibrant explosions to spread across the alien ship, all forms of functionality lost.
In surprising speed, Michael, accompanied by Ruby, managed to neutralize an alien ship! Though now it wasn’t the time for celebrations, not lingering for more than necessary, they headed towards their next target, determined to minimize casualties.
Meanwhile, Claire, Enzo, Amelia, and Cyberfang were similarly busy fighting off a threat.
"How can this be?!"
To the Overlord’s surprise, Claire moved with such fluidity that it wasn’t able to land a single hit!
Her new technique was proving invaluable. Combined with her already exceptional piloting skills, it wasn’t an exaggeration to say that she was now the most skilled mecha pilot in the world!
Of course, she wasn’t alone.
Some techniques were still usable while piloting a mecha, allowing Enzo to unleash energy blasts from a distance, relentlessly assaulting the Overlord. Amelia stood by his side, waves of electricity crackling from her mecha as she, too, disrupted the alien’s focus.
While her attacks were certainly damaging, the most effective strategy was overloading Cyberfang’s systems, channeling electricity into it. Combined with the spiritual energy stored within the mechanical beast, it was able to hold its own against the Overlord in close combat.
By the end, flanked on all four sides, the Overlord inevitably made a mistake. And with no one left to cover its back, that was all the squad needed.
In a heartbeat, Claire’s lance impaled the creature, bringing an end to its miserable life.
Despite the overwhelming foe she faced, not a single scar marked her pristine mecha. Had mortal soldiers been watching, they would have hailed her as a White Angel descended from the heavens.
"Incredible work, Sunshine!" Bryce’s words of praise echoed across the comm channel. Bringing a beaming smile to his granddaughter’s face.
The old man’s excitement was understandable. This was a monumental achievement! Just the four of them had managed to defeat an Overlord, without any help from their leader!
If Michael had been watching, he would have been beyond impressed. At best, he’d expected them to hold the aliens at bay, but taking one down was a whole different level!
Similarly, the other team consisting of Victoria, Richard, Ava, and Leo also found success.
Utilizing her technique, Victoria coated flames across the weapon of her mecha, enhancing its lethality and making her the primary damage dealer.
As for Richard, he fought like a madman... As usual. Forming a thin protective layer on the veil of his battle suit, he was able to mostly negate the Overlord’s strikes, taking the brunt of the damage like a tank.
Ava proved to be the most frustrating opponent. Her mecha, designed to complement her petite frame, was the smallest yet by far the fastest. She was one of the few warriors capable of wielding her signature weapon even while piloting a mecha.
Her massive hammer, weighing more than a ton, never missed its mark. The Overlord’s rear was relentlessly assaulted by violent explosions, each one gradually building up damage. Taking her reckless nature into account, it was no wonder she had been nicknamed Daredevil even back when she was just a regular soldier.
And Leo quickly adapted to the situation. The energy gun his mecha wielded was effective at both annoying the alien and preventing the smaller forces from joining the fray.
"Preposterous! To fall before humans, not even of the Lord realm!" The Overlord roared in fury.
Victoria paid no mind to its outrage. The beautiful flames raging across the ship’s hull shifted to the side at her command, creating a clear path. Before the Overlord could react, her metallic leg drove itself into its skull, ending its life for good.
The intense flames reflecting off her mecha created the image of a fearless dragon, one that never bowed down to any threat.
By now, it was clear that while Michael was undoubtedly the strongest member of his faction, the Indomitable Alliance boasted more warriors capable of slaying Overlords.
Considering that the vast majority of factions that existed weren’t able to put a dent in such monsters even if they assembled all of their forces, the Indomitable Alliance’s ability to slay three Overlords simultaneously was a clear testament to their growing power and influence.
Of course, while inspiring, they weren’t the only ones fighting. The ten Lords, following Nicole’s orders, were doing their utmost to hold back the Overlords.
It wasn’t out of camaraderie or honor; they were terrified of the consequences Nicole would unleash if they didn’t give it their all.
Though the weaker warriors fought with all their might to hold back the remaining Overlords, their losses steadily grew as the conflict dragged on.
Even with their mounting casualties, they were succeeding in their mission. Nicole, leading the charge at the front of their funnel formation, reached the enormous alien battleship that contained the formidable Monarch.
Her crimson eyes blazed with unwavering determination as she landed on the ship’s hull, showing no hint of fear.
Rather than hesitation, an intense anger radiated from her stunning figure. With a single wave of her hand, she ripped a massive chunk from the ship’s exterior, forcefully clearing a path for herself.
Soldiers fought bravely, and casualties were mounting all because of these foolish creatures, who had the audacity to challenge humanity.
One thing was certain. When she got her hands on the Monarch responsible for this, she would ensure the alien met an agonizing end.
