Supreme Martial God of the City-Chapter 1065 - 1019: Disdain
Even the socialites of Shanghai were left speechless upon seeing Luo Yue.
Many noblewomen immediately gathered around Luo Yue, examining her closely. Some couldn’t help but reach out and touch Luo Yue. Her skin was as smooth as jade, without any blemish.
"President Luo, how does your daughter maintain her skin? It’s incredible!"
"Indeed, today I’ve truly understood what it means to have skin as pure as snow and bone as delicate as jade. President Luo, you mustn’t keep the secret to yourself. If you have a good skincare formula, please share it with us."
The noblewomen all spoke up. They were all middle-aged, with wrinkles at the corners of their eyes and deteriorating skin. They didn’t lack money and spent handsomely on skincare almost daily, yet the results were underwhelming. Seeing Luo Yue’s flawless skin, they naturally assumed she had consumed some kind of spiritual medicine or used some beauty secret.
Luo Weizi smiled and said, "I don’t have any secret skincare formula. Aren’t we all the same? It’s just that my daughter is young, so her skin is naturally good." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Although some of the noblewomen were skeptical, upon closer examination of Luo Weizi, they noticed that even with makeup, her wrinkles were still visible. It indeed seemed like there weren’t any beauty secrets.
Luo Yue had become the focus of everyone, and Ye Tian, standing beside her, naturally caught attention too.
Song Mingzhe saw that Ye Tian had also come, and his expression immediately turned gloomy.
"Why did you come? I recall my master invited the elite of Shanghai, and you weren’t invited, were you?" Song Mingzhe stepped forward, hands in his pockets, lifting his chin slightly and speaking proudly. This was his home ground today, and Song Mingzhe felt confident.
Luo Yong, seeing Ye Tian, was suddenly filled with anger, and he wanted to seek justice with his parents from Ye Tian.
Although Luo Yong’s parents weren’t as powerful as the Ye Family or the Song Family in Shanghai, they had some influence. With their son beaten like this, they wouldn’t let it go easily.
"President Luo, who is this guy to you? Today he beat my son like this, and I expect a reasonable explanation from him. Otherwise, I won’t let it go. A charge of assault is enough to keep him in jail for years." Luo Yong’s father didn’t speak directly to Ye Tian but instead approached Luo Weizi to protest.
Luo Weizi was a bit stunned. It seemed these people didn’t know Ye Tian’s identity.
"President Luo, this is Young Master Ye. There’s no need for a reason when Young Master Ye hits someone. It must be your son’s fault. Let’s just drop this matter. Continuing will not benefit you," Luo Weizi chuckled.
"President Luo, he knocked out my son’s teeth, and you say to just drop it? It can’t be that simple, right? Would you say the same if it were your son being beaten?" Luo Yong’s father was immediately dissatisfied. Even if the Luo Family was powerful and prestigious, he wouldn’t swallow this anger easily.
"If Young Master Ye had beaten my son, I would only be happy, not angry," Luo Weizi smiled and said.
"Happy? President Luo, the more you talk, the more unreasonable it sounds," Luo Yong’s father sneered. It seemed Luo Weizi was speaking without concern.
"President Luo, you should also feel happy because your son is still alive. If I’m not mistaken, it must be your son who offended Young Master Ye. Offending Young Master Ye could result in death or serious injury, and your son only lost a few teeth. That’s already a blessing," Luo Weizi remarked.
The crowd was in uproar upon hearing this.
Luo Weizi’s words were too domineering. Everyone involuntarily looked towards Ye Tian, a young man capable of such feats? Could it be that his background was extraordinary?
Luo Yong’s father paused upon hearing this, his expression turning wary. He was hesitant to speak further because he knew Luo Weizi wasn’t one to speak without reason.
"President Luo, who exactly is he?" Luo Yong’s father asked nervously, understanding that there were some families in Huaxia he couldn’t afford to offend.
"I’m sorry, I cannot disclose that," Luo Weizi smiled cryptically.
"Dad, we can’t let it go like this. He’s offended not only me but also Young Master Song. With Master Chen here, we have nothing to fear. I think President Luo’s words are just alarmist," Luo Yong said angrily, intent on revenge.
"Heh, President Luo, even if this guy has some background, so what? This is Shanghai; it’s not his place to be presumptuous. My master already said that people unrelated to the event should not be allowed in tonight. This guy wasn’t invited, so he better leave quickly, or I’ll be rude," said Song Mingzhe coldly, frustrated by how much Luo Weizi defended Ye Tian.
"Mr. Song, you better control your son. Be careful, his words might bring disaster if he offends someone he can’t afford to," Luo Weizi smiled calmly, warning Song Ziqiang seriously.
Song Ziqiang laughed dismissively. The Song Family was a prestigious family in Shanghai. Even if Ye Tian really had some background, offending him wouldn’t be a big deal.
"Just a youngster, so what if he’s offended? President Luo, I now understand why you refused the marriage alliance with my Song Family. I guess this guy must be your son-in-law?" Song Ziqiang huffed coldly, feeling slightly displeased.
Luo Weizi’s support of Ye Tian, combined with Ye Tian’s closeness to Luo Yue, naturally led to speculation.
Luo Weizi felt a bit awkward. Truth be told, she wouldn’t mind Ye Tian becoming her son-in-law, but Ye Tian didn’t want that.
"Young Master Ye is a friend of my daughter’s; you shouldn’t make wild guesses," Luo Weizi explained.
"What qualities does this guy have to be your daughter’s friend, President Luo? You’re usually so astute, why act foolish now? Luo Yue is meant to be Master Chen’s disciple, yet she befriends such a mortal. Isn’t that laughable?" Song Ziqiang chuckled.
"Mr. Song, we’ve dealt with each other for decades, but it seems you still don’t understand me. I’ll give you a final piece of advice: Young Master Ye is not someone you can afford to offend. You better apologize, or no one will be able to save the Song Family later," Luo Weizi found it amusing but still advised sternly.
Ye Tian wouldn’t hesitate to kill, and if the Song Family continued unchecked, they were on a path to destruction.
But in Song Ziqiang’s eyes, Luo Weizi’s well-meaning advice was just a scare tactic.
"President Luo, you needn’t worry about this. I just want to know whether you agree with the marriage alliance or not?" Song Ziqiang asked, arrogantly.
Luo Weizi didn’t answer immediately but looked toward Luo Yue.
