Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!-Chapter 875: Four anomalies
Leo and Lucinda, immersed in monitoring multiple screens, heard Arabel's quick footsteps coming down from the second floor. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Are you awake yet? How did you rest?" Lucinda asked solicitously, meeting her.
"I had a great rest," Arabel replied, without taking her eyes off the screens.
"What happened during my absence?" she asked, wanting to know the details.
"During the night, almost all the cities were attacked by a wave of beasts," Leo reported.
"But because all the cities were expecting this attack, and the beasts and birds are mostly drawn to the four springs, this time the cities managed to repel all the waves. Unfortunately, there were casualties among the defenders of the cities," Lucinda added.
As promised, Lucinda closely followed all the events in her younger sister's world and tried to help everyone with her advice and suggestions.
"Everything is fine on our side, no one was injured except for fatigue and minor injuries," Leo reported with a smile.
Arabel smiled with relief, but her smile quickly disappeared as she realized that this was just the beginning.
No one could predict how long the disaster would last and what consequences it would entail.
"What about the sources themselves?" she asked the question that worried her the most.
"Take a look for yourself," Lucinda suggested, and Leo, as if on cue, brought up four screens with small fragments of video in front of Arabel.
The first video showed a huge snow-white area shrouded in an icy fog. This fog, like a living cloud, expanded and captured more and more new territories. The ground in front of the fog was covered with ice spikes and frost, instantly freezing.
The footage captured many beasts fearlessly rushing into the fog, their eyes shining white. They disappeared inside, letting out howls and growls, which were quickly drowned out by the roar of a blizzard and a whirlwind hiding behind the fog.
It was difficult to estimate the true scale and size of the fog, but it was obvious that it already occupied a large area and continued to spread.
The second video captures a huge area engulfed by a wall of flames. The sky above this place has turned a dirty red hue due to ash and thick smoke. The flames, as if alive, devoured all new territories, hiding the scorched earth behind them in clouds of smoke. The earth itself had already begun to melt, turning into streaks of cloudy jagged glass. From time to time, dry fiery lightning could be seen shooting from the ground into the sky.
Just like in the first video, many beasts and birds voluntarily went to the wall of flames and dived right inside without any fear.
In the third video, instead of a wall of fire, there was a wall of water. And, most surprisingly, the water did not fall from the sky, but, on the contrary, flowed forward and upward, blurring everything in its path, like a waterfall, but vice versa. Everything that was washed away by the wall of water soared up, was picked up by funnels of gray clouds and sucked inside, disappearing.
The video captured amazing scenes where beasts and birds, as if guided by some instinct, plunged into the water and, caught up by a stormy stream, disappeared into its depths.
In the last video, Arabel saw how a huge mountainous area was trapped in dark clouds, which were relentlessly struck by lightning bolts, leaving behind glowing branching patterns. Terrible crackling and vibrations from lightning strikes filled the air.
With each passing second, the dark cloud took over more and more territory, as if living purple lightning burned out the space, leaving behind only a black, scorched earth.
The beasts and birds, attracted by something inside this dark cloud, rushed there, disappearing under the lightning strikes.
"The first video was shot in the north of the Federation," Leo began to explain.
"The second video was recorded in the south of the Federation."
"The third video is from the west of the Federation."
"The fourth video is from the eastern lands of the Federation," Arabel herself finished for Leo.
"All these anomalies have emerged quite recently," Leo continued.
"The source of the elements of ice, water, and wind probably appeared in the North," Lucinda said. "The humming of the winds is clearly audible in the video. If only the ice source had appeared, there would not have been such a noise."
"As for water, where there is ice, there is always water."
"In the south, judging by the videos and messages that Leo managed to receive, I assume there is a source of the elements of fire and earth," Lucinda continued.
"The source of the earth element?" Arabel asked, turning to Lucinda. She was curious to know why she felt that way.
"The video did not capture the moments when regular tremors hit the surrounding areas, and it is not visible how some stones rise into the air by themselves," Lucinda replied to her.
"Judging by the video, a source of Water and Wind has appeared in the west," Arabel suggested.
"Yes, you're right," Lucinda agreed.
"And there seems to be lightning in the east," — Arabel whispered.
"True, but we shouldn't exclude other sources," Lucinda added. "Not only in the east, but in all these zones."
"Such phenomena can be caused not by one source, but only by a combination of them. However, there is always a dominant element."
"The north is ice, the south is fire, the west is water, and the east is lightning," Lucinda shared her knowledge as an experienced and knowledgeable person.
"The most alarming thing is that these anomalies are getting bigger by the second, getting stronger and covering more and more territories," Leo said with concern.
"I can't determine their exact size yet, given the scant information we have," he quickly admitted, preempting Arabel's question.
Arabel nodded, understanding his words.
"Beasts and birds tend to these sources, looking for opportunities," Lucinda continued, without waiting for questions.
"As far as I know, the beasts in your world have not yet acquired an affinity with the elements," she continued.
"Wait, big sister," Arabel caught something important in her words. "You're not saying that the beasts are rushing there, seeking to awaken their affinity with the elements, are you?"
"Partly, yes," — Lucinda nodded. "They are drawn there by their beast instinct. They feel an opportunity for development and, possibly, for further evolution."
"As a result of these desperate actions, the weak beasts and birds will die, and the strong and those who are lucky will benefit and become part of a new stage in the development of your world."
