[Ahri]

[Rank: High]

[Element: Fire - Illusion]

Kael read the System's message carefully. Fire and Illusion... It was an interesting and dangerous combination. Spirits of the Fire element were naturally aggressive, while those with an affinity for Illusion were treacherous and unpredictable.

He looked at Ahri over his shoulder. The seven-tailed fox was perfectly settled there, her fur exuding a subtle warmth, and her crimson eyes shining with a deep intelligence. Even without saying anything, Kael felt that she understood him completely.

"Fire and Illusion, huh?" he muttered to himself. He already knew the element of Darkness well, but this was a combination he had never tested before. How would these abilities manifest themselves? How could he use them in combat?

Ahri tilted her head slightly, as if she had caught his thoughts, her tails swaying slowly and rhythmically. She was different from the other spirits that had been summoned today. More than just a contract, she seemed... alive, aware of her own power.

Kael clenched his fists, feeling the excitement growing inside him.

"This is going to be interesting." He looked up and realized that everyone in the room was still staring at him, some in disbelief, others with expressions that varied between envy and fascination. Mizuki, on the other hand, looked thoughtful, watching Ahri as if trying to understand something.

But when she realized...

'He... summoned a Fox on the Journey of Divinity...' Mizuki felt a shiver run down her spine as she watched the small creature perched on Kael's shoulder. His eyes analyzed every detail: the impeccable fur, the dense aura of power, the seven tails swaying slightly in the air.

'What kind of fucking power does this boy have...?

Spirit foxes, by nature, were born with a maximum of five tails. When they chose to ascend to divinity, they sought to reach nine. That was their natural path. But Ahri... Ahri already had seven.

That didn't make sense.

Mizuki, who was also a Fox, but a Kitsune, had her nine tails, but still couldn't reach divinity. The path was arduous, it required more than mere strength - it required transcendent power, a deep understanding of one's own essence.

But this creature, summoned by a mere student, overflowed with a different energy.

'How much divine power...'

Mizuki clenched her hands tightly. Kael Scarlet... This boy was dangerous.

'You're thinking too much, young fox.

The voice came into her mind, as sweet and calm as a warm breeze. For a brief moment, a cozy warmth enveloped her heart, melting her tension.

Her eyes widened and, instinctively, she turned her face to the little seven-tailed fox resting serenely on Kael's shoulder.

'Have you... have you reached speech yet?' Mizuki asked in disbelief. For all her size and childlike appearance, Ahri still looked like a young spirit.

'Strength and appearance are not the same thing, little fox.

The answer was subtle, but it carried an ancient wisdom, a weight that Mizuki recognized immediately. The tone was gentle, but the depth behind each word was overwhelming.

The spiritual energy that flowed from the fox, the absolute serenity...

'An old woman?!

Mizuki's eyes almost popped out of her face as she stared at Ahri with pure shock.

The little fox let out a sound like a soft laugh inside Mizuki's mind.

'Hahaha... What a lovely reaction. You remind me of younger people in the past.

Mizuki shivered. There was an absolute calm in the way Ahri spoke, as if nothing in this world could disturb her.

'Don't worry, little fox. Ahri continued, her voice carrying an amused tone. 'I'm not a problem. I only accompany that boy because I want to see where his journey takes him. He's interesting, don't you think?

Mizuki swallowed dryly. 'I'm just following that boy...'

This meant that Ahri hadn't been forced into a contract, or lured by power or greed. She had chosen to be by Kael Scarlet's side.

And that was even more frightening.

If an entity of that level chose to follow someone... what exactly would that someone become in the future?

"Class dismissed for the day." The teacher said, her voice slightly hesitant. "You've made great progress, but it seems we have a special case here."

Kael ignored the murmurs and stares around him. He didn't need their approval. All that mattered now was understanding Ahri and what she could do.

Without further ado, he got up and left the room, feeling the warm, silent presence of the fox at his side.

The moment Kael left the room, he immediately asked.

"Do you speak?" His voice was direct, his golden eyes analyzing the little fox on his shoulder.

Ahri remained silent, her expression quiet, almost playful, as her longer tail curled lightly around his neck like a soft scarf.

Kael narrowed his eyes, but before he could insist, he called out, "Umbra."

This time, instead of the little Wyvern, a female figure emerged from the shadows beside him. Her body was slender and gracefully curved, her curly brown hair floating lightly as if it were made of darkness itself. Umbra's amber eyes shone with curiosity as she approached, watching Ahri with interest.

She circled around the fox, the strands of hair spreading out like ethereal tentacles before she finally spoke, a mischievous smile appearing on her face.

"Yes, she talks. She's just trying to keep up appearances... But don't be fooled." Umbra tilted her head, clicking her tongue before continuing.

"She's exactly 2,202 years, 3 months, 2 weeks, 3 days old and..." Umbra paused dramatically, closing her eyes as if calculating. "1 hour and 12 minutes of life."

Kael arched an eyebrow, surprised at the precision.

"She really is admirable." Umbra added, crossing her arms and casting a playful glance at Ahri, who remained indifferent, just waving one of her seven tails slowly in the air.

Kael sighed, feeling that his life would be even more complicated from now on.

Kael pushed open the dormitory door with a sigh, feeling the fatigue of the day weigh on his shoulders. As soon as he entered, however, his body froze for an instant.

In front of him, walking casually across the room, was Amelia Valroth - dressed only in a set of lacy black panties and a bra that seemed too small to contain her attributes. Her silver hair was slightly damp, as if she had just showered, and her fair skin glowed in the light.

She was holding a few items of clothing in her hands, apparently in the middle of some household chore, but her expression was completely unconcerned, as if walking around the dormitory like this was the most natural thing in the world.

Kael blinked a few times, his mind trying to process the scene.

"You..." Kael began, but stopped when he realized that his voice came out hoarse.

Amelia turned to him with a calm look, without the slightest sign of embarrassment. "Hm?" she arched an eyebrow, as if she didn't understand why he was acting like this.

He ran a hand over his face, taking a deep breath, trying to regain his sanity. "You're walking around practically naked."

She let out a nasal laugh and shrugged. "I'm washing my clothes. I had to take some off so they wouldn't get wet. It's no big deal."

Kael massaged his temples, fighting the urge to stare at her longer than he should have. Amelia Valroth... really has changed a bit. Or maybe it had always been like this and he was just starting to notice.

"You can't just walk around the dormitory like that!" He crossed his arms, trying to keep his gaze firmly on her face and not... anywhere else.

Amelia huffed, crossing her arms as well - which, to his dismay, only emphasized her figure even more. "Really? Are we really going to start this argument? You already saw me like this the first day we got here. What's the problem now?"

Kael opened his mouth to reply, but nothing came out. He blinked a few times, his mind searching for a logical response to rebut, but all that came was a complete blank.

"What? Did you crash?" she teased, a little smile playing on her lips.

Heat rose up his neck, and he clenched his fists. "The problem..." he began, trying to keep his composure, but then he exploded, completely losing control of his own frustration. "The problem is that YOU'RE TOO BEAUTIFUL, I'M NOT GOING TO CONTROL MYSELF IF YOU CONTINUE EXHIBITING YOURSELF LIKE THAT!!!"

The silence was almost deafening. Amelia blinked a few times, surprised by the intensity of the shout, but then a mischievous smile appeared on her face. "Oh?" she tilted her head, as if she had just discovered something very interesting.

Kael realized too late what he had just said. "Shit..." he muttered, wiping his hand across his face as Amelia stared at him like a predator that had just found its prey.

Amelia was silent for a moment, her eyes narrowed slightly, and a soft color appeared on her cheeks, almost imperceptible, but enough to make Kael realize the impact of her words. She, who had always seemed so confident and at ease, now looked uncomfortable. She looked away for a moment, something rare for someone like her, and tried to disguise the slight color that tinged her cheeks.

Kael, for his part, realized what had just come out of her mouth. His heart raced, and he quickly realized that he had just made the biggest mistake possible. He should never have spoken the way he did. He was used to being direct, but this level of honesty was too much.

"I... I didn't mean it." Kael mumbled, putting his hand to his head and squeezing his eyes shut. "I just... it annoys me that you stand around like that, making me lose my concentration, and..." He was trying to explain himself, but the words only came out more garbled.

"Ouch... I get tired." Umbra said.
