Chapter 348: Chapter 348: Make Your Move!

In the room, Tang Le stood guard. Long Chen was completely focused on healing Long Xin, slowly infusing his battle qi into her body. Under his treatment, the color gradually returned to her pale face.

Only when her injuries had clearly taken a turn for the better did Long Chen stop. He gently laid her down on the bed.

"Brother Long, how is she now?" Tang Le asked.

"She’s out of danger," Long Chen replied. "However, she’ll still need to rest and recuperate for some time."

"That’s good," Tang Le nodded.

Long Chen turned to him and asked, "By the way, why aren’t you and Xin’er at the Martial Ancestor? What brings you two here?"

Tang Le sighed softly. "We came looking for you, of course."

Long Chen was not surprised by this answer.

"You’ve been in the God-Devil Domain, so you have no idea how much your little sister Xin’er has been suffering," Tang Le continued. "Ever since you left the Martial Ancestor, all she could think about was finding you.

"However, Chen Yao was worried for her safety and refused to let her leave rashly, so she had no choice but to confine her.

"Every single day she was confined, she fought to break the formation Chen Yao had set up.

"But she could never break through. In the end, she pleaded with me. I couldn’t stand to see her in such a state, so I helped her escape the formation.

"The moment she was free, she left the Martial Ancestor and came straight to the God-Devil Domain to find you.

"I was worried, too. Since I was the one who let her out, I had to be responsible for her safety. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to face you.

"I just... I never expected something like this to happen..."

At this, Tang Le trailed off. Long Chen patted his shoulder reassuringly and offered a small smile. "Thank you for everything on this journey. If you hadn’t been by her side protecting her, I’m afraid the consequences would have been far more severe. So, don’t dwell on it. If anything, I’m the one who should be thanking you."

Hearing this, Tang Le laughed and waved his hand. "Brother Long, you’re being too formal. Or do you still see me as an outsider?"

Long Chen shook his head with a smile.

"Since you don’t see me as an outsider, let’s skip all these pleasantries!" Tang Le said with a grin.

"Alright, no problem," Long Chen agreed with a nod.

As they were speaking, Long Xin, who had been unconscious, began to stir groggily. Sensing the movement, Long Chen immediately turned and walked to her side.

"Xin’er!"

In her hazy state, hearing that familiar voice made Long Xin think she was dreaming. But just then, she felt a large, warm hand take hers, holding it tight. Instantly, she snapped out of her daze and became wide awake.

She opened her eyes and saw the face she had missed more than anything.

"Big... Big Brother!!" Long Xin was overjoyed, hardly daring to believe he was really there. "I... I’m not dreaming, am I?"

"No," Long Chen said with a smile. "You’re not dreaming. Xin’er, I’m right here. Do you feel any better?"

Instead of answering, Long Xin sat up and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. Tears of joy were already staining her pretty face.

"Big Brother, do you have any idea how much I’ve missed you?" Long Xin’s voice choked with sobs. "In the days I couldn’t see you, I was on edge every single moment, terrified that something might have happened to you..."

Her tears fell like rain, soaking the fabric on Long Chen’s shoulder. Seeing this, Tang Le said nothing and tactfully exited the private room, giving the two of them some space to talk.

"Silly girl," Long Chen murmured, gently patting her back. "I’m right here in front of you now, aren’t I? So, you don’t have to overthink things or be on edge anymore. Just relax. Stop crying, alright?" he said, gently wiping the tears from her cheeks.

"Mhm." Long Xin nodded heavily, though the tears continued to fall. She was simply too happy to see him safe and sound.

She lifted her head, her eyes locking with his. "Promise me, no matter what happens, you’ll never leave me alone. Okay?"

Hearing this, Long Chen smiled and stroked her head gently. "We’re family. Of course I won’t abandon you..."

But before he could finish, Long Xin pressed her lips to his.

Long Chen’s mind went blank. By the time he came to his senses, Long Xin had already pulled back, lowering her head shyly. Her lovely face was flushed a deep crimson, as if blood might drip from it.

"Big Brother, I..." Long Xin stammered, her head still bowed. For a moment, she had no idea what to say.

Long Chen was equally at a loss for words.

After two seconds of silence, he broke the tense atmosphere. "Xin’er, you suffered a very serious internal injury. I treated it while you were unconscious, but you still need to rest properly to recover. You should rest here for now. If you need anything, just let me know."

Seeing him about to leave, Long Xin suddenly grabbed his hand. "Big Brother, please don’t leave the private room. I... I’m scared to be here alone..."

Long Chen understood immediately. "Then I’ll stay here and watch over you."

"Okay." Only then did Long Xin nod and lie down on the bed, her heart at ease.

Long Chen sat in a nearby chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. Noticing this, Long Xin asked curiously, "Big Brother, what are you thinking about? You can tell me whatever is on your mind!"

Long Chen mulled it over for a moment before replying, "A while ago, Spirit Monarch and I ran into some trouble. We were forced to separate. To this day, her whereabouts are still unknown. I have no idea how she’s doing." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Don’t worry," Long Xin said. "Sister Chu is so powerful, ordinary people can’t harm her. She’ll be fine!" But as she said it, she felt a pang of bitterness, as if something important had been lost.

"I hope so," Long Chen nodded, then turned back to her. "Let’s not dwell on it. You get some rest. I’ll be right here watching over you. Just call me if you need anything."

With that, Long Chen sat cross-legged and began to cultivate. Long Xin watched him quietly, lost in her own thoughts.

「The next morning.」

Long Chen ceased his cultivation. Just as he stood up, he saw that Long Xin was also awake.

"Big Brother!" she called out as she sat up.

Long Chen nodded and smiled. "Why are you up so early?"

"I went to sleep early last night, so I’m feeling much more refreshed today," Long Xin replied with a smile. In truth, she hadn’t slept at all. She had spent the entire night thinking about Long Chen and Chu Lingjun.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Hearing the sound, Long Chen went over and slowly opened it.

"Brother Long," Tang Le’s voice came from outside as soon as the door cracked open. "How is Long Xin? Is she feeling any better?"

Long Chen smiled slightly, nodded, and stepped aside to let him in.

"Tang Le." Long Xin offered a small smile when she saw him.

"Long Xin, how are you feeling?" Tang Le asked with concern.

"I’m mostly fine now, so don’t worry," she replied.

"That’s a relief," Tang Le sighed. "This is all my fault. I should have found you sooner. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been so badly injured..."

"Tang Le, this isn’t your fault," Long Xin said quickly. "Their target was me from the start. If you put it that way, I’m the one who should be apologizing. If it weren’t for me, you never would have been dragged into that chase."

Seeing this, Long Chen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Alright, you two, stop blaming each other," he said with a chuckle. "This is all in the past. The important thing is that you’re both safe."

Suddenly, there was another knock on the door.

"Come in," Long Chen called out.

The door was pushed open, and Yang Quan entered with a wide smile on his face.

"Young Master, did you rest well?"

"It was fine," Long Chen said calmly. "Is there something you need?"

Yang Quan chuckled. "Well, it’s breakfast time, so I took the liberty of having some prepared."

After speaking, he clapped his hands. A group of servants entered, carrying an array of exquisite dishes. In no time, the entire table was covered with food.

Yang Quan smiled again. "Please, enjoy your meal, Young Master. I won’t disturb you further."

With that, he bowed and left the private room.

"I didn’t expect the owner to be so hospitable," Long Xin remarked, looking at the feast. "Perfect timing, I’m starving."

She walked to the table, picked up her chopsticks, and was about to sample a dish when Long Chen stopped her.

"What’s wrong?" she asked, puzzled.

Long Chen put a finger to his lips, signaling her to be quiet. Upon seeing the food, Tang Le also immediately understood.

He sent a voice transmission directly to her, "The food has been tampered with."
