Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Instant Kill!

Long Chen had walked a considerable distance when a commotion in the distance caught his attention. He looked toward the sound and saw a group of people heading his way. A single glance told him they were not disciples from Xuanyue Valley. Long Chen paid them no mind, intending to head back to the teahouse. He had no leads on Chu Lingjun’s whereabouts and was at a loss as to where he should even begin his search.

Just as he was about to leave, a cold voice called out, "Hey! Stop right there!"

Long Chen ignored the voice completely, acting as if he hadn’t heard a thing. His attitude immediately infuriated the man who had spoken.

The man’s figure flashed, and in an instant, he appeared before Long Chen, blocking his path. The others quickly followed suit, and several cold gazes fell upon Long Chen. A chilling aura emanated from them. One glance was enough to know this group was not to be trifled with.

"Are you deaf, kid?" the man snarled, his face a mask of contempt.

"Move," Long Chen said flatly, sweeping a cold gaze over them.

His detached demeanor only enraged the man further. Before the man could explode in anger, a short but muscular youth stepped forward. "Second Boss, you don’t need to bother with a greenhorn like him. Let me handle this."

He spoke with a fawning expression, then turned to sneer at Long Chen. "Hey kid, have you even hit puberty? How dare you speak to our Second Boss with that tone? Are you looking to die? Do you have any idea who we are? We’re the most feared bandits in this entire region! Falling into our hands today is a blessing you must have earned over eight lifetimes!"

"Are you done?" Long Chen asked, glancing at him dispassionately.

"So you’re scared now, are you?" the short youth chuckled. "If you’re scared, then get on your knees, kowtow to our Second Boss, and beg for forgiveness!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

His words drew a wave of boisterous laughter from the men behind him.

SWISH!

Suddenly, Long Chen extended his index finger, pointing it directly at the space between the short youth’s eyebrows. A beam of Qi Force shot out, piercing straight through his forehead. Blood sprayed into the air.

The short youth let out a pained groan and collapsed, his body rigid. His eyes remained wide open; he died with a look of utter disbelief. He had never imagined that a few taunts would cost him his life. He didn’t even have a chance to feel regret.

The other bandits were stunned speechless. Their faces filled with disbelief as their shocked gazes locked onto Long Chen. They never imagined he would dare kill one of them right in front of their faces.

Even their leader was momentarily taken aback. However, he quickly recovered, his cold gaze landing on Long Chen. "Brat, you’ve got some damn nerve, killing my man."

"As the saying goes, even when beating a dog, you have to see who its master is! In this area, who doesn’t tremble at the sound of my name, Lu Dachui? Since you’re so reckless, I’ll teach you the meaning of consequences!"

As his voice fell, Lu Dachui gathered his strength and unleashed a ferocious punch toward Long Chen.

Seeing Lu Dachui make his move, the men behind him broke into excited grins.

"The Second Boss is making his move! That kid is dead meat!"

"An arrogant brat who doesn’t know his own limits!"

"One punch from our Second Boss and he’ll be turned into a meat pie!"

The men were certain Long Chen was about to suffer a terrible fate, chattering amongst themselves. But in the next second, their voices died abruptly. After Lu Dachui’s punch landed, Long Chen was not turned into a pile of minced meat as they had expected.

On the contrary, a loud BANG resounded.

Lu Dachui let out a horrific scream as his entire body was sent flying like a kite with a severed string, crashing heavily onto the ground.

PUH!

He coughed up a mouthful of blood. Long Chen’s single punch had left Lu Dachui’s face a swollen, bruised mess, twisted to one side in a hideous, painful grimace. Blood covered his features, making for a pathetic sight.

"S-Second Boss..."

The subordinates were utterly dumbfounded, staring in shock. They couldn’t believe this greenhorn had sent their Second Boss flying with a single punch. And he looked absolutely miserable! If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, none of them would have believed it was real.

A wave of intense pain made Lu Dachui scream like a pig being slaughtered. He lay feebly on the ground, overwhelmed by agony. He desperately wanted to get up, but he couldn’t summon an ounce of strength.

"You bastard!" one of the subordinates shouted, finally snapping out of his daze. He pointed an angry finger at Long Chen. "You dare touch our Second Boss?! Believe it or not, we’ll—"

Before the man could finish, Long Chen glanced up, his icy gaze sweeping over him. The subordinate froze, a violent tremor running through his heart. Instantly, he felt a terrifying pressure descend upon him, as if Mount Tai itself was crashing down on his shoulders.

POP!

The subordinate was only at the Fifth Layer of the War Ancestor Realm; he stood no chance against the pressure Long Chen released. His body instantly exploded into a mist of blood.

The thick, pungent stench of blood filled the air.

Everyone gasped, their hearts leaping into their throats. They exchanged terrified glances, the raw fear in each other’s eyes unmistakable. Their terror intensified. They couldn’t comprehend how Long Chen had killed one of their own without even seeming to move.

Just what level of power does this young man possess?

Even Lu Dachui, his face a contorted mask of agony, was completely frozen. The shock was so profound that it momentarily eclipsed the excruciating pain wracking his body. A moment later, his entire body tensed as he realized Long Chen’s cold gaze had now fallen upon him.

Lu Dachui trembled. Mustering strength from some unknown wellspring, he scrambled to his feet and forced a fawning, sycophantic smile. "Brother, they were blind just now. Please, forgive us."

"It was all a misunderstanding!" he explained hastily. "We didn’t come here to cause you any trouble. We have no ill will toward you, none at all!"

His attitude had done a complete one-eighty. With an ingratiating grin plastered on his bloody face, he pleaded, "Please, be the bigger person and don’t lower yourself to our level."
