Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 321: Great Fortune!
A flash of embarrassment crossed Lei Man’s face, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say. Chu Lingjun took in her entire expression and understood immediately.
A wave of fury washed over her, and she demanded coldly, "You deceived me? You don’t have a clue how to get out of here! You just made up all those lies to trick me into freeing you, didn’t you?"
"You don’t need to worry." Despite her embarrassment, Lei Man said calmly, "I told you I would get you out of here, and I will. I won’t go back on my word."
Chu Lingjun snorted. "After you’ve already lied, who would be foolish enough to believe you now?"
With that, Chu Lingjun prepared to strike Lei Man.
Seeing this, Lei Man simply waved her hand, unleashing an immense power. Chu Lingjun’s expression flickered as she moved quickly to block the attack. However, the force was so strong that she was knocked backward. A sharp, numbing sensation spread through her, making her deeply uncomfortable.
"In that case, you can forget about getting the antidote," Chu Lingjun said, her expression cold and indifferent.
Lei Man just laughed. "You think this little bit of poison can kill me? How naive. I’ll be honest with you—a poison like this is nothing to me. I can neutralize it with my Inner Strength whenever I please."
"Oh, is that so?" Chu Lingjun raised an eyebrow and snapped her fingers.
SNAP!
Lei Man’s expression changed instantly. A twisting pain shot through her abdomen, and large beads of cold sweat broke out on her forehead. She frowned, realizing the poison she had taken was finally taking effect. Without delay, she immediately circulated the Battle qi in her body, intending to neutralize the poison with her profound Inner Strength.
To her astonishment, however, her profound Inner Strength didn’t neutralize the poison. Instead, it only made the toxin even more potent. The searing pain that followed was nearly unbearable.
"How is this possible?" she stammered, staring at Chu Lingjun with wide, disbelieving eyes. "I can’t neutralize this poison... What in the world is it?"
Chu Lingjun chuckled. "Did you think you were the only cunning one here? I anticipated this. The poison I gave you can only be cured by my antidote; nothing else will work.
"Even with your profound Inner Strength, the poison wouldn’t have taken effect so quickly if you hadn’t tried to suppress it. But since you did try to force it down, you’ve only accelerated its effects."
"Clever." Lei Man smiled faintly. "It seems I was careless. I never thought someone so young could be this cunning. You’re truly impressive."
Although she had been bested by Chu Lingjun again, Lei Man couldn’t help but feel a flicker of admiration for her.
"You flatter me," Chu Lingjun said.
"The feeling is mutual," Lei Man replied.
Chu Lingjun’s voice turned cold. "Without my antidote, you will die. It’s that simple."
A feeling of helplessness washed over Lei Man. What can I do? I’m completely at her mercy.
With this thought, Lei Man had no choice but to compromise. "You’re ruthless this time! Don’t worry, although I can’t get you out of here right now, just give me some time. I will definitely find a way! I will stake my life on it. Is that guarantee enough for you?"
Chu Lingjun hesitated. In her current situation, escaping on her own would be incredibly difficult. Having Lei Man’s help would be a good option. An extra person meant extra strength. Besides, the woman knew this place far better than she did, which could prove invaluable.
After considering this, Chu Lingjun finally nodded in agreement. "I’ll give you one more chance. If you get me out of here safely, I will cure your poison. You had better behave yourself. Otherwise, I won’t be as polite as I’m being now."
Lei Man was seething internally. She was an elder of the Jinglei Sect. Taking orders from a young girl was a bitter pill to swallow. However, despite her displeasure, she could only grit her teeth and bear it. Everything can wait until we get out of here and I have the antidote!
Having reached an agreement, Chu Lingjun asked, "So, what’s our next move?"
"Let’s wait and see for now," Lei Man suggested. "Follow me. I remember a space nearby that contains an extremely powerful force. Let’s go check it out."
"What’s in that space?" Chu Lingjun asked curiously.
"I’m not sure yet." Lei Man shook her head. "We’ll know when we get there. Follow me."
With that, Lei Man walked straight ahead. Chu Lingjun paused for a few seconds before hurrying to catch up. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Under Lei Man’s guidance, they left the narrow chamber and returned to the larger space they had first entered.
"Be careful," Lei Man warned.
Chu Lingjun didn’t reply, only nodding. She remained on high alert, worried that Lei Man might still try to pull something.
Soon, Lei Man led Chu Lingjun to a vortex. The moment they drew near, an extremely strong oppressive force washed over them. Chu Lingjun felt as if a mountain were pressing down on her shoulders, and even Lei Man was feeling the pressure. Noticing Chu Lingjun’s pale face, Lei Man took a step back to walk beside her, shielding her from some of the pressure. The relief was immediate. Chu Lingjun said nothing, but shot her a grateful look.
"Once we’re inside, you must stick close to me," Lei Man reminded her again.
Chu Lingjun nodded. After watching Lei Man step into the vortex, she braced herself and followed. She had no other choice now but to trust Lei Man for the time being.
Upon entering the vortex, a blinding white light flared, forcing Chu Lingjun to shut her eyes. The oppressive pressure that had enveloped them moments before was now gone.
"I knew it! There really is a great opportunity here!" Lei Man’s voice suddenly rang out, reaching Chu Lingjun’s ears clearly.
Hearing this, Chu Lingjun slowly opened her eyes. She was met with a sea of brilliant white light. At the very center of the radiance was a glowing source point.
"What is that?" she asked Lei Man curiously.
Lei Man didn’t answer. A sharp glint flashed in her eyes as she stared intently at the source point.
Then, she leaped into the air, flying straight toward it.
But just as Lei Man was about to reach the source point, it seemed to sense her presence and suddenly pulsed. An extremely powerful wave of the Power of Thunder erupted from within.
BOOM!
Lightning flickered all around, coalescing into several orbs that shot directly at Lei Man.
Seeing this, Lei Man’s face changed dramatically. Not daring to underestimate the attack, she frantically circulated her Battle qi, forming an Energy Barrier around herself to block the assault.
A dense barrage of lightning crashed down with terrifying force. Lei Man’s face turned deathly pale as the blood churned within her, and she spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
"This is bad!" Chu Lingjun’s delicate eyebrows knitted in a frown. She had no choice but to step forward and help.
