Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 236: Guiyuan Academy!
Long Chen didn’t waste his breath on them.
If not now, when else should I leave? He certainly didn’t have the time to stick around and brawl with these people. Turning around, he departed at a brisk pace.
"You scoundrel! Leave the item behind!"
"You’re courting death! Let’s see where you can run!"
Lü Hao and Qian Kun cursed nearly in unison as they swiftly gave chase. But Long Chen’s speed was astonishingly fast, leaving them far behind. Despite their frantic pursuit and using every trick they knew, they simply couldn’t catch up. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Damn it! Where the hell did this guy come from?" Qian Kun fumed.
The Jinyin Tiger’s Inner Pill had been almost in his hands, but then this interloper had jumped out of nowhere, causing him to lose such a treasure. How could he possibly swallow this insult?
His eyes narrowed into slits as he glared at Long Chen’s retreating figure. "You better pray we don’t meet again, or I will tear you to pieces!"
Lü Hao also wore a gloomy expression. However, seeing Qian Kun’s furious state, the corners of his mouth curled into a cold smirk. Worried that Qian Kun, that mad dog, would snap and bite anyone he saw, he didn’t linger and quickly turned to leave the area.
Meanwhile, Long Chen, now far ahead, glanced back. Seeing that no one had caught up, he finally slowed his pace. He took out the Jinyin Tiger’s Inner Pill and looked at it with a slight smile.
Those guys were so arrogant before. If they found out it was me who took their Jinyin Tiger’s Inner Pill, wouldn’t they be infuriated to death?
Long Chen found a secluded spot to stop. After making sure no one was around, he sat down cross-legged. He closely examined the Jinyin Tiger’s Inner Pill and found it contained an extremely dense and powerful energy. If he could consume it and refine that energy, his Cultivation would receive an immense boost.
However, Long Chen didn’t consume the Jinyin Tiger’s Inner Pill immediately. Instead, he stored it back in his Storage Ring. He already had a stream of energy within his body. If he consumed the Inner Pill now, not only would it likely be ineffective, but it might even disturb his Battle qi and cause incalculable damage.
Long Chen collected his thoughts and stopped dwelling on it. He calmed his mind and began to circulate the Battle qi in his body, aiming to fully refine the power within him as soon as possible.
In what felt like the blink of an eye to Long Chen, the next day arrived. It was the day the Sacred Ruins Forbidden Land would open.
Long Chen slowly rose to his feet and headed straight for the entrance. When he arrived, he found that many people were already there waiting. He stopped a fair distance away and slowly approached the crowd.
Long Chen glanced around, noticing that most people were standing apart in their own groups. His solitary approach made him stand out rather awkwardly. This left Long Chen speechless. He had intended to enter inconspicuously, yet he had managed to become the center of attention.
The eyes of everyone present fell upon him. Suddenly, all eyes were fixed on Long Chen, and some began to whisper among themselves.
"Who is that guy?"
"Judging by his bearing, he looks extraordinary. Could he be a disciple of some Great Sect?"
"It’s possible. Generally, groups from the various powers come together; they don’t arrive alone."
Long Chen ignored their comments, paying them no mind as he continued walking forward.
"Hey, kid, which sect are you from?" a young man called out, stepping forward and pointing at Long Chen.
Long Chen hesitated for a moment, then remembered the Token that Feng Ziyuan had given him and took it out.
"Guiyuan Academy," Long Chen replied nonchalantly.
Upon hearing this, the entire area fell into a dead silence.
Long Chen was taken aback. Could the reputation of Guiyuan Academy be that formidable?
But he soon realized just how ludicrous that thought was.
PFFFT!
The silence was shattered by a wave of uproarious laughter from the crowd. People were doubling over, howling with mirth.
"And here I was wondering who it could be!"
"So it’s someone from Guiyuan Academy! You almost killed me with laughter!"
"Let me tell you, kid, are you dense? You’re just a disciple from the lowly Guiyuan Academy, and you don’t even have the sense to keep a low profile. How dare you strut around here so arrogantly?"
Hearing these words, the several disciples from Guiyuan Academy standing in a corner looked mortified. They were naturally incensed by the mockery, but even so, they didn’t dare make a sound. After all, among the powers gathered here, Guiyuan Academy was the weakest in overall strength. In a place where strength reigned supreme, they had no right to speak.
"Hey!" someone shouted at them. "Are all of you from Guiyuan Academy blind and deaf? Hurry up and collect your trash. Isn’t he embarrassing you enough already?!"
Their taunts sparked another wave of derisive laughter from the crowd.
"Damn it! These people are going too far!"
A young woman fumed, ready to lash out, but a man beside her placed a hand on her shoulder, signaling her not to be impulsive. Left with no choice, the young woman could only suppress her anger, bottling it up inside.
"Who is he? How does he have a Guiyuan Academy Token?"
The disciples from Guiyuan Academy all stared at Long Chen, their minds filled with confusion. He was a complete stranger to them.
An elder in their group, however, showed a flash of surprise in his eyes after noticing the Token in Long Chen’s hand, but he quickly regained his composure. He addressed Long Chen, "Since you are a disciple of Guiyuan Academy, come and line up with us. The entrance to the Sacred Ruins Forbidden Land is about to open."
"Mm." Long Chen ignored the stares of the crowd, nodded toward the elder, and then flickered, vanishing from his spot. When he reappeared, he was standing beside the old man.
Before Long Chen could speak, a young man next to him demanded harshly, "Kid, who are you? You can’t be one of our disciples, so how do you have our academy’s Token? Speak! Did you kill one of our disciples and steal his identity?"
The elder waved his hand, silencing the young man. He looked intently at Long Chen and asked, "Young man, how did you come by this Token?"
"It was given to me by Senior Feng Ziyuan," Long Chen responded calmly. "He asked me to use this Token to participate in the Sacred Ruins Forbidden Land. He will help me save my friends, and in return, I have agreed to some of his conditions. He said that anything concerning Guiyuan Academy is now my business. In short, I am to help Guiyuan Academy with all my might!"
"Senior Brother Feng?"
"Elder Feng?"
Upon hearing Feng Ziyuan’s name, the elder and the disciples behind him were all stunned.
"Where did you meet him?" the elder asked. The elder was Fu Qing, the current Headmaster of Guiyuan Academy. Upon hearing news of Feng Ziyuan, he grew increasingly agitated.
Several years ago, Feng Ziyuan had suddenly gone into seclusion before leaving Guiyuan Academy entirely. No one knew his whereabouts. In the few short years since his departure, Guiyuan Academy’s status in the God-Devil Domain had plummeted. Now, after so long, they finally had news of him. They hoped he would return to save the academy from its current plight and lead it back to its former glory.
Long Chen was slightly taken aback. Seeing their reaction, he realized that Feng Ziyuan must not have been in contact with the academy for a very long time.
Long Chen briefly recounted his meeting with Feng Ziyuan to Fu Qing and the others. Upon learning that Feng Ziyuan was safe, Fu Qing breathed a sigh of relief.
Long Chen stated directly, "If Guiyuan Academy needs my help in any way, you need only ask."
Hearing this, the young man who had spoken earlier couldn’t help but sneer.
"You? Kid, I really think you’re out of your mind. On what basis do you make such a boastful claim?" the young man said with utter contempt. "Even I, considered a prodigy of Guiyuan Academy’s younger generation, wouldn’t dare to be as arrogant as you. I really have no idea where your confidence comes from!"
