Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System-Chapter 285: Dinner! (1)
Hugo stood in front of his dorm room mirror, hands on his hips, nodding at his reflection like he had just survived a life-threatening mission.
And in a way, he had. Somehow—somehow—he had made it out of that nightmare shop without ending up as an organ donor.
That alone was worth celebrating. Sure, the suit wasn't exactly what he wanted, but with some strategic adjustments, like maybe wearing sunglasses to avoid seeing it too clearly, he could work with it.
He adjusted the mustard-yellow jacket, smoothed his hair back, and flashed himself a grin. "Not bad, Hugo. Not bad at all."
Then his smile faltered as he actually took in the full picture. The suit was still a crime against fashion.
The lapels were wide enough to land a helicopter, the fit was… questionable at best, and the color?
Oh god. It was still mustard yellow. Hugo had never felt so much like a walking McDonald's advertisement in his life.
But… at least it was tailored? That was something, right?
He sighed, straightening his tie. Alright, focus. The important thing was confidence. If he acted like this suit was the height of fashion, people would believe it.
That was how rich people worked, right? They wore the most ridiculous things, but as long as they acted like they owned the world, everyone just accepted it.
Which reminded him; how was he supposed to act around nouveau riche people?
Hugo groaned, rubbing his temples. He had zero experience with rich families. What did they even talk about at dinner?
Stocks? Private jets? The struggles of hiring good butlers? What if he accidentally used the wrong fork and got exiled from high society?
He didn't even know how many forks rich people used. His usual experience with cutlery was just: big fork for food, small fork for dessert, and hands for anything else!
"Alright, alright," he muttered to himself, straightening his tie again even though it was already perfectly in place. "Just play it cool. Act like you belong. How hard can it be?"
Then, the door had a knock.
Hugo turned around and opened the door, prepared to greet whoever it was, and then he saw her.
Emily stood in the doorway, framed by the dim dorm hall lights, and Hugo felt like time had skipped a beat.
She wasn't just dressed up—she was breathtaking. The moment his eyes landed on her, his brain stopped functioning for a solid five seconds.
Maybe 10!
She wore a sleek, deep red evening gown that hugged her curves perfectly, the fabric shimmering faintly under the light.
Her long, silky hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her makeup was flawless—subtle yet devastatingly effective.
The whole look screamed class, wealth, and "I have a credit limit higher than your entire life savings."
Hugo swallowed hard, his brain scrambling for thoughts. 'She looks like a goddess. She looks like she just walked out of a billionaire romance novel. She looks—'
…like someone who shouldn't be standing next to a guy in a mustard-yellow abomination!
Oh no.
OH NO.
His suit was trash compared to hers. Absolute garbage. He looked like a side character in a low-budget mob movie while she looked like a Hollywood star.
This wasn't fair. This was like someone putting a Lamborghini next to a busted-up bicycle and calling it a race.
For a second, Hugo genuinely considered faking an emergency and canceling the date. But then he saw the way Emily was fidgeting.
Wait.
She wasn't just standing there looking perfect. She was actually nervous.
That snapped him out of his self-pity instantly.
Why was Emily nervous? She looked like she belonged on a red carpet, yet here she was, standing at his dorm room door, shifting her weight slightly like she was waiting for him to say something.
Ah. He was staring.
Hugo immediately smoothed his expression into his usual confident smirk, stepping forward like he hadn't just been mentally breaking down.
"Wow," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "And here I thought I was going to be the best-dressed one tonight."
Emily blinked, startled, before her lips twitched into a smile. "Shut up."
"But seriously," Hugo continued, tilting his head as he slowly looked her up and down, his gaze lingering just enough to make her blush, "you look absolutely stunning."
Emily's cheeks turned a lovely shade of pink, and she looked away, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Bingo. Hugo had recovered.
For a moment, they just stood there, the air between them charged with something warm and electric. But then Emily bit her lip, hesitating.
"Hugo… I—"
"Hold that thought," Hugo interrupted, flashing her a grin as he grabbed his keys. "Let's talk in the car. We've got a fancy dinner to attend, and I don't want to keep you waiting any longer."
Emily blinked, startled again, but then she nodded, still looking slightly nervous. Interesting. Something was definitely on her mind.
As they walked down the dorm hallway together, Hugo was very aware of the way people were staring.
Whispers followed them. Guys glanced up from their dorm rooms, eyes wide. Some nudged each other, clearly dying of jealousy.
A few girls shot Emily curious glances, probably wondering who the hell she was and why she looked like she belonged in a royal ball.
And Hugo? Hugo walked like he was on top of the world.
This? This was the kind of attention he lived for.
He smirked, deliberately placing a hand on the small of Emily's back as they exited the dorms, just to flex.
Once they reached his car; his sleek black Mercedes-Benz parked in the front lot, Emily hesitated again. She looked at Hugo, then at the car, then at him again.
"You drive a Benz?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hugo grinned, opening the passenger door for her. "I have to match your level somehow, don't I?"
Emily rolled her eyes but slid into the seat, her lips twitching like she was trying not to smile.

As Hugo walked around to the driver's side, he exhaled slowly.
Alright.
This dinner? It was going to be interesting.
