"If you didn’t show up soon, I really would have thought you forgot about the club," Lan Bing said, her words betraying her dissatisfaction with Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu awkwardly touched his head and smiled, "I’ve been rather busy lately. I hope President Lan isn’t angry with me."

He had interacted with Lan Bing a few times and knew that she was a generous girl, not the type to fuss over small matters like most girls.

"You’re a busy person; I wouldn’t dare to be mad at you. You’ve come at just the right time. You must attend the upcoming martial arts club exchange event," Lan Bing said, and now that Ye Qiu, this occasionally popping up guy, was at the club today, she didn’t want to let him go.

"The club exchange event?" Ye Qiu murmured to himself. He remembered the posters at the school’s entrance, which seemed to be about some exchange event.

"This exchange event is co-hosted by the top three high schools. Although it appears to be an exchange among clubs from these schools, in reality, they will use the outcomes to determine which school is the most outstanding, with the most talent," Lan Bing explained upon seeing Ye Qiu’s confusion.

After some thought, Ye Qiu understood that the real purpose of this so-called exchange event was competition among the three parties—to determine who ranked first and who would garner the most fame.

"This exchange isn’t just for the martial arts clubs. Music, art, and several other major clubs will participate. As a member of the martial arts club, Ye Qiu, you can’t disappear on us," said Lan Bing seriously.

Lan Bing’s familiarity with Ye Qiu caused Liu Hu, who had been silent on the side, to feel a surge of annoyance.

This guy was the same one who had previously defeated Ma Tao from the Taekwondo club. Lan Bing was giving him so much attention while Liu Hu felt left out like an extra.

"President, I’ve heard that Ye Qiu has impressive skills. Since he’s here, and he’s never shown his skills in front of our members before, why doesn’t he demonstrate a few moves today?" Liu Hu interjected, breaking into their conversation.

Lan Bing frowned slightly while the other club members, upon hearing that Ye Qiu could showcase his skills, gathered around excitedly.

Standing in the center of the crowd, Liu Hu wanted to see what Ye Qiu’s actual level of skill was.

"Fine," Ye Qiu agreed simply. Before Lan Bing could say more to stop others from egging them on, Ye Qiu accepted Liu Hu’s suggestion, which rather annoyed her.

To test Ye Qiu’s abilities, Liu Hu didn’t care even if it made Lan Bing angry. If Ye Qiu’s skills were lacking, he planned to find a way to kick him out of the martial arts club.

"If you don’t mind, allow me to teach you a lesson. I heard you were pretty good back then; even the president of the Taekwondo club couldn’t match you. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there to witness it. Luckily, now I have the chance to ask for some guidance," Liu Hu said with a smirk, then moved to an open space, waiting for Ye Qiu to face him off.

"Liu Hu, stop causing trouble. We’re all from the same club. There’s no need for this," Lan Bing scolded him. She didn’t want the two to clash because it wouldn’t benefit the club whether someone won or lost.

Liu Hu ignored Lan Bing’s anger. He grinned at Ye Qiu and said, "Is Ye Qiu scared? If you’re afraid, then forget it." His words were dripping with reluctant sarcasm.

"Ye Qiu, don’t follow his nonsense..." Lan Bing was trying to persuade Ye Qiu not to bother with Liu Hu when she heard Ye Qiu say, "As you wish."

He had been aware of Liu Hu for a while. Since his first visit to the martial arts club, this Liu Hu had shown hostility towards him. Ye Qiu didn’t believe he had offended the other party, so he couldn’t fathom why this man was looking for trouble with him.

Now, he didn’t want to dig deeper. Since the man held animosity towards him and wanted a beatdown, he might as well satisfy him.

Ye Qiu slowly approached Liu Hu as the surrounding students made way for him.

Standing opposite Liu Hu, Ye Qiu kept one hand behind his back, signaling Liu Hu to begin.

Seeing the current standoff, Lan Bing couldn’t stop them. She didn’t know what had gotten into Liu Hu today, but he was insistent on butting heads with Ye Qiu.

"Heh! Then I shall not hold back," Liu Hu, seeing Ye Qiu’s masterful posture, couldn’t help but snort coldly and immediately charged at him.

Although Liu Hu hadn’t practiced martial arts from a young age, he had picked up a variety of fighting techniques.

He had studied Sanda and Taekwondo for a while, and he was quite good at it, earning the praise of his coaches. It wasn’t until he entered university and was attracted by Lan Bing’s beauty and demeanor that he decided to join the martial arts club and started learning martial arts.

Since he already had some basics, it wasn’t too difficult for him to pick up martial arts. His skills improved rapidly, ranking just below Lan Bing, who had practiced martial arts from a young age.

Liu Hu took a big step forward and reached Ye Qiu in just a few breaths, then threw a heavy punch.

This punch, like a shooting star hammer, drew an arc aimed straight at Ye Qiu’s chest.

The punch carried a fierce momentum and seemed very imposing, with an overwhelming sense of power.

The club members around exclaimed at Liu Hu’s punch, many feeling that if it had been directed at them, they would have instinctively covered their chests to defend against the attack, or in a more timid reaction, conceded defeat immediately.

"That’s impressive!" Some of the female club members showed awe in their eyes, their mouths agape as they watched the scene apprehensively.

Liu Hu, seeing the reactions of the other club members, smirked inwardly. Today, he would defeat Ye Qiu in front of everyone, ensuring Lan Bing would lose interest in this person.

So from the beginning, Liu Hu didn’t hold back in his moves, starting with a kill strike.

Ye Qiu remained unmoved, like an old tree rooted deep, in the face of Liu Hu’s aggressive demeanor, he only lifted his eyelids slightly. And at the moment the fist touched his clothes, Ye Qiu’s entire body trembled faintly.

Whoosh...

Liu Hu was startled, his first punch missed, dodged by Ye Qiu.

After a brief moment of surprise, Liu Hu spun around furiously, launching a spinning kick from the air which came crashing down.

This kick was even more powerful than the previous punch.

When the attack came down, Ye Qiu’s body gave another eerie tremble, once again avoiding Liu Hu’s flying kick.

Missed twice?

The surrounding club members rubbed their eyes, having thought Ye Qiu would be hit the first time, yet he dodged it; then they watched wide-eyed as Liu Hu’s astonishing second attack also missed its mark.

"How is that possible!" A feeling of shock flashed through Liu Hu’s mind. He couldn’t figure out how Ye Qiu was evading; the guy seemed to anticipate his movements, always moving just as Liu Hu’s attack was about to make contact.

Liu Hu didn’t believe that Ye Qiu had truly evaded his attack with real strength and attacked again.

This time Liu Hu changed his strategy, opting for rapid strikes, unleashing dozens of punches in an instant.

All the punches bombarded Ye Qiu alone.

Faced with the overwhelming torrent of fists, Ye Qiu seemed like he was strolling in the rain, each step narrowly avoiding the raindrops that were about to fall on him. Liu Hu’s assault seemed like raindrops, all evaded by Ye Qiu.

Liu Hu continued his frenzied attack, refusing to believe Ye Qiu could dodge every time.

Sadly, he had underestimated Ye Qiu’s strength. Five minutes had passed, and all his attacks had missed without exception.

Without hitting Ye Qiu, Liu Hu ended up drenched in sweat, panting heavily, constantly staring at Ye Qiu.

"Are you coming again?" Ye Qiu asked indifferently.

The words seemed to provoke Liu Hu, who roared and charged again.

...

Ten minutes later, Liu Hu lay powerless on the ground, failing to touch Ye Qiu at all from start to finish. Looking up at the ceiling, Liu Hu was filled with a sense of defeat, this being the most humiliating loss he had ever suffered.

"Do you know why you couldn’t touch me?" Ye Qiu flicked his sleeve and spoke lightly.

"I lost, and that’s that. If you want to humiliate me, just do it," Liu Hu said bluntly.

Ye Qiu was amused by Liu Hu’s straightforward character and explained, "Your attacks were completely exposed in your eyes. I just have to watch your eyes to know where you’re going to strike."

"Now do you understand where you failed?"

"Hmph." Liu Hu snorted, turning his head, not wanting to pay attention to Ye Qiu, yet inside he pondered over Ye Qiu’s words. Could it really be as the other had said, that his attacks were exposed in his eyes?

"You, stop..." Liu Hu suddenly called out to Ye Qiu as he was turning to leave, asking, "I have a question for you."

"Speak," Ye Qiu said without turning around.

"If I hide the desire to attack in my heart and not in my eyes, might I be able to hit you?"

Ye Qiu smiled. Liu Hu’s insight was quite good, having understood his meaning. After a moment of silence, Ye Qiu left him with the words, "Even if you hide all your intent to attack, you still won’t be able to touch me!"

"..." Upon hearing this, Liu Hu nearly passed out from fury.

Passing by the pride-wounded Liu Hu, Ye Qiu walked up to Lan Bing, spread his hands in resignation, and smiled helplessly. He hadn’t intended to make Liu Hu end up like this. Lan Bing took her gaze off Liu Hu and smiled at Ye Qiu, saying, "Thank you for pointing things out to him."

"Pointing things out?" Ye Qiu smiled faintly, "It’s hardly pointing things out, just a reminder. I hope it helps the martial arts club in the upcoming exchange meet."

"It seems I was right to insist on inviting you to join the martial arts club," Lan Bing suddenly reflected.
