Supernatural Insight Eyes-Chapter 1874 - 1875: Tempest Calmed (Part 5)
After wandering around, Ye Qiu returned to his residence. When he saw Bai Muxue enter that courtyard, his expression froze.
"Do you live here alone?" Ye Qiu suddenly turned and asked.
"Yes, why?" Bai Muxue asked, puzzled.
Ye Qiu shrugged and laughed, "Nothing, nothing."
Bai Muxue responded with an "Oh," and entered the house with Zhu Zhenzhen, leaving Ye Qiu feeling unsettled.
Bai Muxue living in this courtyard, doesn’t that mean...
Ye Qiu’s mind again conjured the scene of a woman bathing in a barrel, her hair damp, her fair skin glistening with water droplets, the steam rising, making the sight appear and disappear like a mirage.
The beauty he saw bathing that day, was it Bai Muxue?
This...
Ye Qiu’s emotions were complicated. Before he knew, it was nothing, but now that he knew, he felt unsure about how to interact with Bai Muxue.
After returning to his room, Ye Qiu did not go out casually. He feared encountering Bai Muxue again, with that scene reemerging in his mind.
Fortunately, Bai Muxue did not know about this, sparing them much awkwardness. Otherwise, how could Ye Qiu continue staying at Bai Lingtian’s residence?
If Bai Lingtian knew that Ye Qiu accidentally saw his daughter, he wouldn’t be so polite.
Ye Qiu resolved that he would never speak of this matter; he would keep it buried in his stomach.
At night, Zhang Shanfeng returned and reported on a day’s surveillance. To Ye Qiu’s surprise, no one from the Shadow division had appeared, despite days passing. Could Shadow be so weak?
It shouldn’t be. According to his investigation, the Shadow division was numerous, powerful, with many masters. It’s impossible for a division to be destroyed silently.
Yet reality was so, Zhang Shanfeng observed all day, and still no shadow personnel appeared.
If the Shadow people never show up, how would he find the Emperor’s son, especially Shangguan Mingyue?
"Shadow won’t pretend nothing happened. After a few more days of surveillance, if no one appears, we’ll leave Luohé City and take out another division." Ye Qiu said with killing intent.
Zhang Shanfeng was surprised; Ye Qiu’s intense animosity towards Shadow indicated Shangguan Mingyue’s importance to him.
Ye Qiu temporarily stayed at Bai Lingtian’s residence to avoid trouble and better observe movements at the old Shadow division location.
If he gained nothing, Ye Qiu planned to leave. He couldn’t trouble Bai Lingtian forever; they weren’t close friends, so he couldn’t repeatedly impose.
Five days later, staying mostly indoors, Bai Muxue visited to deliver a message from her father: the exchange conference was beginning.
"So soon?" Ye Qiu was somewhat surprised. He wasn’t particularly interested in the conference, only attending due to Bai Lingtian’s invitation. However, after considering it, he thought attending wouldn’t hurt. If he met people from the Fang, Xiahou, or Zhang families, Bai Lingtian could naturally mediate, since he wasn’t deeply hostile with these families.
The only amusing thought was how the Zhu family would react upon seeing him.
Especially Zhu Tian.
"Miss Bai, please." Ye Qiu followed Bai Muxue, this time without Zhu Zhenzhen, just the two of them, silent along the way. Vehicles were ready at the door, and they rode to the destination.
About half an hour later, Ye Qiu and Bai Muxue disembarked from the carriage.
As soon as they alighted, Zhu Zhenzhen’s voice was heard: "Muxue, you’re finally here. I’ve been waiting for you so long."
After this, Zhu Zhenzhen addressed Ye Qiu who came with Bai Muxue, "Should I call you Muxue’s brother-in-law or Ye Pill Master?"
"Zhenzhen..." Bai Muxue tugged at Zhu Zhenzhen’s sleeve, advising against joking.
Ye Qiu didn’t answer, Zhu Zhenzhen laughed twice, "Alright, alright, I won’t say anything silly anymore, so our Muxue won’t be embarrassed."
Then, the three entered the conference hall.
Ye Qiu had attended many parties and banquets on Earth, but never an ancestral land’s exchange conference. Now, at his first, he felt curious.
Upon entering the venue, Ye Qiu found the conference setting far more lavish than Earth’s parties, giving a sense of returning to Earth.
Bright lights, luxurious decor, it was utterly modern!
Ye Qiu was very curious about who brought these items in.
Not only Ye Qiu’s gaze bore amazement, but Zhu Zhenzhen was equally astonished: "It’s so beautiful here!"
Bai Muxue’s eyes showed a hint of surprise. The setting was undoubtedly alluring to women, especially the bright lights, like stars in the night sky, making the entire conference hall bright.
"Truly worthy of the Luo family, an impressive display, shattering previous impressions."
"These items aren’t from our Origin Continent; likely from another continent’s technology. The Luo family having these implies even more formidable technology."
"Indeed, these are just decorations. While alien technology doesn’t emphasize personal cultivation like martial artists do and focuses on technology, one has to admit, their weapons are formidable, some can even kill Saints."
"That said, don’t forget, the Luo family’s strongest isn’t a Saint but a Heaven-level expert. These must be brought by that Heaven-level powerhouse."
"I think showing these items not only decorates but declares their unrivaled first family position, asserting they are a formidable existence."
Many whispered, Ye Qiu nearby felt his emotions rising.
These modern technological products, are they from other planets?
Ye Qiu’s heart was shaken. He suddenly recalled that the Void-breaking realm could tear space. Then Saints and Heaven-levels could roam the universe. He’d heard Master Cang say, Luohé City harbors terrifying beings, evident in this exchange conference.
The Luo family, an unfamiliar family, entered Ye Qiu’s sight.
Luohé City, such a powerful force, he hadn’t heard of before. Ye Qiu felt frustrated; he spent a hundred star coins on a book about Luohé City’s various forces, yet it didn’t mention the Luo family. Without visiting, he’d never have known.
What a rip-off!
Ye Qiu recalled the guy who sold him information, seething with anger. If he ever encountered him again, he’d certainly give him a hard time.
