Superhumans of the Dome City-Chapter 1432 - 30: Shattered Moon (Part 2)
"Why ask again, what good is asking?" Situ Yi shouted, "Just do good deeds, don’t ask about the future!"
He clasped his hands together, and dozens of warships were manipulated to crash into each other, blooming into heroic sparks in the dark void of space. This man, usually unfathomable and capricious, now laughed heartily, like a veteran general who has suddenly become enlightened and laid down his slaughtering blade.
Gongsun Ce’s mood was somewhat complex; he couldn’t help but wish for this to be true. If these four could always walk together, if someone could tread the non-existent righteous path, if he truly returned to the past, and truly change history...
But he knows this is an illusion in a false world; history cannot be changed, nor should it be. He took a breath and pulled the reins of the black horse: "It’s rare to see you happy listening to opera... Now, focus, ignore the peons, the real deal is coming!"
Qin Ming casually swung the Ming Blade, slicing apart the last main battle fortress of the steel fleet. He momentarily sheathed his twin blades, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"It’s not the time yet," Qin Ming said.
Qin Ming and Liu Zhongwu have not yet broken through the Creation Realm, Situ Yi’s chaos inducement is unsuitable for direct combat, Yan Qi is far from being as formidable as thirteen years later. Their powers were almost depleted in the previous battle, this fleet capable of interstellar warfare was wiped clean by everyone’s all-out firepower, and it perfectly completed its mission. The debris formed a path to the dark moon, and at the end of the path stood a man in white clothes and white hair, walking silently toward everyone.
This man was definitely not the emperor; never in history has there been such a frail member of the Red Emperor imperial family. Yet, everyone would believe he is another supreme ruler; his presence is cold and indifferent, his expression shows authority without anger, his gaze from high above shows neither pride nor disdain, as if he’s an emperor in the skies looking down on ants.
"Tsk, shameless bastard even sent out his avatar," Yan Qi cursed, his brush transforming into a weapon as tall as him. He leaped off the warhorse, hoisting the brush as he led the charge: "Gongsun, I can only help you this far, hurry—"
Yan Qi froze, Gongsun Ce raised a hand to stop him. The gray-haired youth turned his head, smiling like the most unruly child in school.
"You’ve helped me many times already, it’s about time I help you once, right?" Gongsun Ce said.
"To lead the Order King, is it?" Gongsun Ce laughed, "I’ll behead you and drink to it today!"
He swung the whip with force; the black warhorse neighed loudly. The three-eyed, twin-horned Heavenly Demon shattered the void, gripping a giant sword and flames in each arm. The gray-haired youth on the warhorse raised the Vajra Pestle high, charging at the emperor alongside the Heavenly Demon, his voice echoed in the silent universe, ferocious as the tribulation fire burning all realms!
The man with white hair unleashed a brilliance of ten thousand feet, while Gongsun Ce fought him with black-gold flowing fire. The flow of time sped up and slowed down erratically, space overlapped and fragmented at times, with the Vajra Pestle providing a fixed point of stability, allowing everyone to challenge the emperor in the universe.
The man with white hair drew a dark sword, its glint fast as light pointing at Gongsun Ce’s chest in an instant. Talismans, threads, and blade light blocked this deadly strike, and three young men laughed loudly, riding along behind Gongsun Ce. Qin Ming was the last to set off, patting the dazed Yan Qi.
"What are you waiting for?"
"...Damn it!" Yan Qi cursed.
He turned his back, no longer watching the glorious battlefield nearby, ignoring the dazzling divine skills. His eyes looked toward the distant moon, the white light that hangs overhead every night. That star belongs to the tyrant looking down upon the Empire, the source of all repression and helplessness.
Countless times he wanted to destroy that lofty throne, countless times he restrained his impulse. He knew that’s how the world is; no matter how helpless or suffocated, one cannot live at will. The moon is not in the sky but in the water, seemingly near yet unattainable. But this time, he doesn’t need to repress; this time he can truly revel wildly, can disregard all concerns, can act recklessly...
Can open his eyes and destroy the moon in his view!
Yan Qi swung the large brush like a sword, an ink-colored tidal wave forming a perfect black circle behind him. He shouted and laughed while opening his eyes, the primal wildness suppressed all his life erupted, engulfing the Heavenly Extreme Palace in an instant.
"Break for me!" Yan Qi roared.
This is an order from the apex of the heavens; the world changed due to his unparalleled will. The blackness representing order receded, the lunar surface returned to desolation. This star that sealed time and space began to shake violently, crumbling into dust under the young man’s roar!
As if something invisible shattered, everyone felt their bodies lighten. The man with white hair disappeared like a poor projection, the remnants of the mechanical army dissipated into dust. The universe reverted to its rightful state, silently without a sound.
Gongsun Ce retracted his divine skill, gasping weakly for a moment: "That was a bit too much just now... Is it settled, Yan Qi? This must’ve turned the tide, right?"
"I dug a hole for you alongside it," Yan Qi said, "but the effect isn’t great; the Order King was one step ahead."
A墨色的"wound" was left in the place where the moon should be; behind the "wound," black and white energies intertwined like a Taiji. Gongsun Ce’s keen senses detected the issue.
The Order King indeed left a backup plan, creating a separate time turbulence between virtual history and the real world. After leaving virtual history, Gongsun Ce could not use Yan Qi’s "assistance" anymore, unable to reach the scene in time.
"Fuck him," Gongsun Ce cursed grimly.
"Why rush, it’s not like there’s no way," Yan Qi said, confident, "If you can’t suppress the time flow, don’t suppress it; use your ultimate move and break through directly to kill him!"
Gongsun Ce grew more anxious: "You simply don’t understand! I—"
Yan Qi glared over, the familiar sarcastic smile on his face: "Who’s the one who doesn’t understand? For people from the future to dare send you to this hell alone proves they believe you can solve the issue. Then why don’t you believe them? Just because of the Order King’s crap? Let his predictions eat shit!
You have others’ trust, you also need to believe in the people behind you. Trust they’ve also made preparations, trust they can handle the crisis your actions cause, just like you believe we can help you break this pattern!"
Gongsun Ce exchanged gaze with him for a moment, the hesitation in his eyes turned to resolve. He chuckled: "Rarely do you speak like a proper elder."
"What a joke, I’m the best teacher in the world; how else could I teach a disciple like you?" Yan Qi grinned, "Go! Go back where you belong, do what you need to do!"
"Have a duel with the future me if you can," Qin Ming said.
"After things are settled, remember to treat us to dinner," Liu Zhongwu waved.
"Farewell to the departing lord, travel well without escort!" Situ Yi laughed heartily.
"Thank you all... I’m off!"
No more hesitation, no more fear; the omnipresent cage has broken; now nothing can hinder him. Gongsun Ce looked at the moon turned to dust, feeling somewhere in his heart loosened. His ambition and passion surged through the gap into his body; with this determination, he drew the longsword from his heart, slicing open a path to reality with starlight of black and red.
Everything in the false history began to dissipate at this moment; people gradually turned into faint apparitions. With his sword, Gongsun Ce rushed into the time turbulence, heading to the world he will protect, never looking back.
