Chapter 1423: Chapter 25: Besieged City

The murmurs of the Divine Capital’s citizens seemed to hold power, a power currently erasing Gongsun Ce’s existence, making his actions ephemeral. This eerie scene strangely felt familiar to Gongsun Ce, and he immediately recalled the source of this sensation:

It was on the night in the State of Real Sound, when Qiluo, trapped by Situ Yi’s machinations, doubted his own existence, falling into this ghost-like weakened state.

He also remembered the resurrection of Seviss, recalled the twisted deterioration of King Morton, the scenes he had personally witnessed in the past now formed a conclusion he could not doubt. Guided human minds possess immense power, and the intelligence system hidden in the empire’s dark side undoubtedly holds similar abilities, and now that bizarre system was being used by the Order King, the great power usually used to protect a nation was now pressing down solely on his shoulders!

Every house in the city illuminated lights, civilians who should have nothing to do with supernatural phenomena took to the streets, following his steps. Every face wore a smile of peace and joy, yet the tens of thousands of overlapping laughter inexplicably sounded like the mourning cries of a flock of crows, sending chills down one’s spine. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Gongsun Ce swiftly bypassed the bustling city center of the Divine Capital, heading towards the sparsely populated suburbs, having already figured out the principle of this strange system.

"No wonder they wanted to isolate information on supernatural phenomena... The core lies in making the populace ’believe,’ doesn’t it? Believing there are no abnormal abilities in this world, so the ’non-existent’ power gets weakened by human minds, allowing the existence of the real world to stabilize!"

"Correct answer, this is the predecessor of the civilization front line, the foundational stone of the empire established by Emperor Central Spirit, the hidden law protecting the nation!" Mr. Lan flew backwards behind him, reaching out to the crowd among the lights, "Look, my friend! What a magnificent and grand army! Your empire values the power of the collective most, and at this moment you truly feel the strength of the human mind. So many hearts that can unite into a vast ocean. Even the mighty Creator Realm Mage will eventually be submerged by the group’s ocean."

The lights of the city were thrown far behind, Gongsun Ce grew increasingly anxious. He couldn’t find Yan Qi, the damned artist seemed to have been swallowed by the sea of people, his traces nowhere to be seen. He planned to temporarily head to the dark suburbs to find a gap, where the force of the hidden law determined by human minds was weaker due to fewer people.

"Instead of idle talk, help me think of a solution." Gongsun Ce clicked his tongue.

"You already thought of a plan, what do you need me for?" Mr. Lan shrugged, "The possible additional news is that the Order King exploited a tiny loophole, this kind of thing can’t really function in the reality of the empire capital... Over there, things are just as hectic. Sending forces for support first is a superb choice, trust your intuition and boldly try!"

Mr. Lan, with his playful blue hair, spoke of support yet only offered idle remarks, behaving like a malicious spectator. However, Gongsun Ce felt somewhat relaxed; he understood the character of King Pingdeng, this quirky advocate of fairness often helps the weak suppress the strong. The lack of actual movement from King Pingdeng signifies that there is still a chance of victory; if he truly intervened, that would prove the situation had reached an irreparable state.

But what degree of "irreparable" does King Pingdeng see? Gongsun Ce didn’t want to think about it... He only knew he had to return to reality as quickly as possible.

Their conversation happened in the blink of an eye, within a breath Gongsun Ce arrived atop the high city walls of Divine Capital, intending to fly towards the dark wilderness, but suddenly halted his actions.

There was no wilderness, no roadway, nor any trace of human activity. Beyond the city walls lay only deep darkness, one that devours space itself, absolute void.

In the moment he stopped, the power of void continued to erode the light, the land and sky inch by inch consumed by blackness, the entire world of virtual history collapsing at a visibly rapid pace, like a painter smearing ink across the canvas landscape!

"Ah, oh... It’s a bit troublesome, my friend." Mr. Lan sighed, "That petty bastard has sealed the space. If this continues, you’ll be formatted to erasure."

Gongsun Ce turned around in silence, seeing the sea of madness illuminated under the lights. The entire population of Divine Capital City was advancing towards this section of the wall, millions showed astonishing unanimity. No one was making noise, no one was shoving, everyone’s movements were precise like machinery, smiling they look up at the gray-haired youth, delivering a cold announcement from behind the scenes:

"On December 31, 1997, in Yong Guang Calendar, there is no superpower user named ’Gongsun Ce’ in the Divine Capital City."

The power of silence had no effect, even if sound was isolated, he could not halt people’s minds. The power of human minds transformed into an irresistible judgment, eroding the foundational existence of Gongsun Ce. A weakness not experienced for a long time struck instantly, as if billions of poisonous insects flapped wings in his heart, making it difficult for Gongsun Ce to maintain thoughts.

Rationality approached collapse, thought was about to disintegrate, turbulent and violent information flow washed over his mind, if this continued, even releasing Manifestation Method would be impossible. Gongsun Ce immediately made a judgment, he joined fingers into a blade and stabbed towards his own chest. There was no time to waste, he must take the risk to draw the Final Sword, forcefully crush the Order King’s trap!

"—Currently conveying Fan Ding Realm’s space-time integration hub calculation result to super-class disorder factor ’Gongsun Ce.’

Suddenly, the sound spread across the capital, delivering precisely to Gongsun Ce’s ear from the depths of endless night, akin to a cold, indifferent thunder.

"First. The release of Final Sword·Silent Star Tribulation will cause super-class disorder factor ’Silent King’ to fully descend in the Real World. In absence of special measures, real world destruction rate is predicted to exceed nine-tenths, with over ninety-nine percent of biological life annihilated within one second."

Gongsun Ce’s right hand froze before his chest. He slowly reached out, as if dispelling fog in the past, placing his palm against the noisy crowd, the golden pupil under the lens cold and fierce.

"Second. The collapse of the unique history system will cause a large number of information remnants to flow into the Real World, triggering a wide-range memory synchronization phenomenon. Shielding against hidden law system attacks requires erasing over forty million simulated lives, anticipated to synchronically trigger the death of more than thirty five million intelligent lives upon system collapse."

"Calculation result transmission complete, over and out."

The indifferent voice departed, Gongsun Ce stood amidst the overwhelming laughter. Faces of laughter transformed into scarlet blood in his eyes, he felt like a floating duckweed drifting in the sea of blood in hell, the crimson waves carrying life’s weight surged forth, sounds from all directions mourn like cries, forward and backward were all towering massacres.

"Quickly think of a good idea, my friend." Mr. Lan softly said, "Otherwise, I will have to help you."

·

Modern times, Divine Capital City.

The end-of-year celebration was in full swing, with beautiful lights visible throughout the city. The Emperor’s lanterns from various dynasties stood in different places around the city, and passing citizens clasped their hands together, praying for the Emperor’s protection. This calamity-ridden year was finally about to end. People sighed over the many significant events that happened during the year, hoping that tonight’s lights could sweep away the gloom.

An elongated orange sedan arrived at the front of Divine Capital City on this harmonious day, the lights in the night illuminating the driver’s long beard. Rainbow Winged Lord Celeste Hadrian was the first to get out of the car, taking off his dirty motorcycle vest and changing into a luxurious sky-blue robe.

"We’ve arrived, my friends," the old man said cheerfully. "Where will you go from here?"

"Hmm, I’m going to fight," Qin Ming said.

"I’m heading to the palace to settle everything while there’s still time," the Hidden Law Master said softly.

The driver beside them saw the three people, each dressed differently and appearing distinctly, standing side by side. He thought they might be travelers who met by chance, chatting idly because of the congestion entering the city. No one could have imagined they had been traveling together for nearly three months or envisioned the kind of madness these strange people were about to commit.

"So it seems... I don’t have much time left, I’ll have to act quickly now," the Rainbow Winged Lord said. "It looks like we’ll have to part ways here."

"Your driving was impressive," Qin Ming waved to him. "Goodbye."

"Farewell, or perhaps forever," the Hidden Law Master nodded.

Qin Ming lightly tapped the ground and leaped into Divine Capital City like a bird. The driver beside him was stunned; he couldn’t believe it as he stuck his head out, seeing the red-haired, burly man clasping his hands behind his back and his shout resounding like thunder on a clear day.

"Disperse!"

Hundreds of cars were lifted by the sound waves, clearing the previously congested avenue instantly. The people caught up by this were too shocked to speak; they saw the fiery red shockwave breaking through the ancient city gate, bricks and stones being overturned and crushed by a tremendous force. In an instant, the entrance of the Empire’s capital was wide open, with nothing standing in the way of the red-haired man.

The Hidden Law Master stepped onto the vast, wide road and walked into the capital. Everywhere he passed was as open and bright as the area before the city gate. No one could get close to his side; nothing could block his way. He walked calmly toward the imperial palace at the center of the capital, as dignified as a king returning from ancient times.

"This world is truly strange. He could live for who knows how many billions of years more, yet he’s more anxious than an old thing like me who doesn’t have half a day left," the Rainbow Winged Lord said wistfully, stroking his beard. "Don’t you think so, Gun of Punishment?"

Agent Will appeared silently before the old man, still in his trench coat and holding the Holy Gun, with an uncontainable weariness on his face. The Rainbow Winged Lord smiled sympathetically, "It seems you intend to gather intelligence first, a wise choice. I don’t plan to withhold anything from you... and I hope you manage to witness the end."

"Ascend to the Divine Realm, traverse all phenomena. Strange Phase·Creation Realm. Temple of All Gods·Burning Rainbow Heavenly Kingdom."

Almost transparent wings extended from the old man’s back, with strange light wings swirling with seven-colored radiance, as splendid as butterfly wings. A wondrous and varied world emerged from the rainbow light, with extraordinary mountains forming amidst the clouds. Within the mountains were gardens and halls, and angels with wings toiled on the Divine Mountain, as if they had entered a sacred, mythological Heaven. This Heaven consisted of seven layers, each nested within to form a splendid rainbow.

Agent Will inserted the Gun of Punishment into the cloud layer to steady himself, his Desolate Form·Creation Realm becoming as ethereal as a mirage. This was an unprecedented phenomenon; his Creation Realm Skill had clearly extended yet couldn’t produce an impact, as if it was "assimilated" by the enemy’s grand world!

"Celeste Hadrian, you are indeed at the pinnacle of the Creation Realm,"

"I thought you had already guessed, hadn’t you?" Hadrian smiled, "Shadow, your job."

The old man’s shadow rose from the ground, transforming into the gentlemanly Mr. Jinglian. He sighed and took out a scroll of parchment, which was sealed with seven seven-colored imprints.

"Rejoice, oh good people; lament, oh wicked ones; the end is near, and the divine declaration has arrived — Seven Seals Judgment·The Revelation of the End."

"When the first seal was broken, I saw brimstone and fire rain down from heaven. A red angel flew from the Divine Mountain, bestowed with war banners and a crown, to lead the Divine Army of Heaven. It came forth, conquering and to conquer."

Mr. Jinglian removed the first red imprint, and the sky was instantly filled with an unusually murky color. Caustic brimstone descended like ocean waves, while fiery flames scorched the white clouds. A red angel took flight from the seven-fold heaven, donned in battle armor and wielding battle banners, engaging in combat with Will. Behind it was the vibrant, fiery Divine Army of Heaven.

Millions of troops completely surrounded the city, with the disaster of brimstone and fire pouring onto the earth. The celebratory atmosphere vanished, as if the Divine Envoys had sounded the trumpet of the end, bringing the destined apocalypse!
