Dave glanced at his little chibi skeletons—Lucifer and Diablo—only to find them crumbling to ashes one by one.

Without hesitation, he kept summoning them again and again until they developed heat resistance.

Sticks, watching curiously, finally asked, "I was hoping to ask... why summon them only for them to die?"

"They're growing," Dave said simply.

Sticks nodded in understanding. "It seems they will become reliable companions in the future."

Both Lucifer and Diablo had now gained multiple resistances—wind, pressure, heat, and more.

As Dave was inspecting his skeletons while moving forward, a sudden sound caught his attention.

Step. Step.

The footsteps echoed through the burning forest, unhurried and confident. The person walking didn't seem to care that Dave had noticed them.

'Who?'

Dave scanned the area but saw no one.

"It's that bastard. He's the one who forced me to create Ultra Sensitivity..." Madra spoke solemnly. "Anyway, this is the perfect time to hone your senses. Just close your eyes and feel the mana around you—you will be able to find him."

Hearing this, Dave prepared for battle but couldn't help asking, "Who are you talking about?"

"The Legendary Assassin," Madra replied. "That bastard was sent to assassinate me. Poor guy—I showed him his place but cutting his legs off, But Thanks to him, I realized my senses weren't good enough, so I developed the enhanced version of Super Sensitivity."

'The smoke has thickened?'

Step, step.

The footsteps drew closer.

Dave quickly pulled out his weapon, his instincts screaming at him. He activated Magic Detection Lv. 2, but what he saw shocked him.

[No life has been detected.]

'What?!'

Something felt terribly wrong. Trusting his gut, Dave immediately blinked away, teleporting from his previous position.

A moment later, his eyes widened as he saw the fog split apart—as if something had slashed through it.

'I was only saved because of Ultra Sensitivity...'

Realizing the enemy was beyond conventional detection, Dave took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and fully relied on his senses.

Step.

Dave sharpened his focus, his enhanced senses detecting the faintest disturbances in the air.

He held his breath—then, he heard it.

A subtle shift in the fog. A whisper of movement.

'There!'

Without hesitation, Dave swung his weapon toward the source of the disturbance, trusting his instincts.

Clang!

"He blocked it."

@: "He's not a legendary assassin for show—he's powerful, okay?" Madra said as Dave nodded, gripping his weapon tighter.

Dave could feel the assassin's overwhelming presence even though he couldn't see him. Every step, every movement was calculated. This wasn't an ordinary enemy.

'I need to push my senses even further.'

Closing his eyes, Dave relied entirely on Ultra Sensitivity, feeling the assassin's faint presence through the shifting mana in the air. The next attack could come from anywhere.

Dave took a deep breath, steadying himself as he focused entirely on his senses. The assassin was fast—so fast that even his King's Insight barely picked up any details before he vanished again.

Step.

A single footstep echoed in the mist, but Dave didn't react immediately. Instead, he concentrated on the flow of mana, the disturbance in the air, the shift in pressure around him.

Clang! Clang!

Sparks flew as Dave instinctively parried two swift slashes aimed at his neck and heart. The force behind them was immense, enough to shatter ordinary weapons, but his grip remained firm.

@: "Not bad, kid. But he's just warming up." Madra chuckled in his mind.

Dave's expression hardened. 'Then I'll have to go on offensive too.'

He activated Flash step, vanishing from his spot and reappearing behind the assassin, slashing down without hesitation.

Clang!

His blade was stopped mid-air, as if the assassin had predicted his exact movement. A sudden force struck Dave's stomach, sending him flying backward through the thick mist.

Thud!

He rolled across the scorched ground, coughing slightly. The assassin's presence disappeared again.

" And he is an Skeleton too" Dave mumbled as in that brief moment he got to see the face of legendary Assassin.

Mumud said, "I think 'Death Knight' is the right word."

Dave nodded. "Yes, normal skeletons aren't that powerful." He cracked his neck. "But now, I somewhat understand his tricks."

He began chanting.

After thirteen seconds, his spell was fully prepared.

"Frozen Kingdom!"

It was another Area-type spell, manifesting a large frozen battlefield around him.

"Found him," Dave said as he detected Frozen Lantier, who was trying to escape. He then swung his Great Sword, unleashing one of his most powerful skills—

"200,000 Army Massacre Sword!"

The massive energy slash tore through the assassin's body, cutting him down instantly, killing him instantly.

The transformation made him even stronger than before.

@: "If this were the original Lantier, you wouldn't even know how you died."

Madra chuckled as Dave nodded.

[Lantier strength has been engraved on Rune of Wisdom]

[You have acquired 'Lantier's Breathing Art.']

— Lantier's Breathing Art: By holding your breath, you vanish from existence.

Mana Cost: 100 Mana per second

Duration: As long as you can hold your breath

Dave then summoned the Diablo and Lucifer.

"See if you can absorb this guy's strength," Dave said.

Sticks frowned. "Disrespecting a past legend like this is wrong."

Dave smirked. "So is turning them into Death Knights. I'm only helping this era build up proper strength. If I could, I'd do more."

Sticks sighed but nodded in understanding.

Meanwhile, the two chibi skeletons, Lucifer and Diablo, approached Lantier's remains. Each one grabbed a bone and absorbed it.

[Diablo has gained the skill 'Lantier's Footwork.']

[Lucifer has gained the skill 'Poison Creation.']

[ Lucifer and Diablo Agility is increased by 500 points each ]

" good" Dave nodded as he looked at the notifications he got after defeating Lantier.

[ You have acquired lantier Cloak ]

[ You have acquired lantier Dagger ]

Dave looked at them and then he gave the dagger to Diablo who is an Warrior and Cloak to Lucifer who is an mage, for his protection.

" lets go" Dave said to Sticks as he moved onto the next island.
